Their work is wonderful but their customer service is horrible. I received a piece as a gift and I…read moredidn't like it. It was personalized and unfortunately the person who had it made got it wrong. It's no fault of the gallery's. However, I inquired about my options to fix it or do something different with it at my expense. I don't know if the son Jason was offended that I didn't like it or what but his responses were incredibly rude. I was quoted $50 in late August and $75 in October. He snapped at me stating he didn't remember from so long ago. But our email chain was a continuation of that conversation. All he had to do was read the prior email. When I mentioned that he told me to just come pick it up. Which I will and be done with them. What a terrible customer service experience.

You can see the amazing wood carving live show on the spot. They are constantly makes new pieces through the chain saw. They have different types of chain saw to cut through the smaller area. The woof chip fly everywhere. In the gallery you can see more refinement art. Such as jewelry, paintings, glassworks, and detail art. Those are very beautiful. They also has more refined wood carving art. The space is beautiful. It is good stop to get a piece for your home including the furniture and front door decoration.

Always love picking up some national park souvenirs on our adventures and was disappointed that our go-to shop was closed. However, we found nearly everything we normally buy here! And there selection is massive - so much to choose from, all at affordable prices. Souvenirs from Alaska, Kenai, Seward... you name it, we found it. If you're looking for a good souvenir from your trip, this is a wonderful place to stop.

Ok I never thought I would say this about a tourist shop that sells stuff made in China, but this…read moreplace isn't terrible- and here's why. In a small town that struggles to survive through the long winter like Seward, this shop does something remarkable. They also sell Native Made goods CHEAPER THAN ANCHORAGE. I am an advocate of selling as much local, native made goods as possible. I had a conversation with the buyer at the store and he was telling me with each passing year there are less native carvers and artists because elders are passing away. They have some incredible pieces of art in the store. For people that don't have large sums of money to invest in art pieces, they have some local pieces of jewelry, Alaska themed shirts and hats, stickers, mugs, magnets, books and cook books, etc. They have also have a whole aisle of toys for out-of-towners who are desperate to satisfy a whiny kiddo during a trip. They even have ponchos, backpacks, umbrellas and other immediate need items that are often very hard to find in a town this size. Honestly, don't judge and book by its cover. This place has you covered.

Watching them saw, polish and shape the enormous jade boulders was amazing. The jade jewelry and items are beautiful and reasonably priced. Add to that the wonderful staff and a museum-quality series of Alaskan items and artifacts, and this is a must-stop when in the area. The future of this shop is in question, after the death of the previous owner in April, 2012. The shop is now being run by the daughter, but she is contemplating closing the doors. I seriously hope this doesn't happen and encourage everyone to show their support and go! Losing this place would be a tragedy.

Sadly, the owners passed away a while back, and we heard the shop would close permanently. But the next time we visited, it was open! The daughter of the couple who made and owned the shop had decided to make a go of it, at least temporarily, while they decided what to do. They still had really great jade stuff, though the best designs were no longer around, I guess her dad did those. I treasure the ones I was lucky enough to get when he was still around. However, there is still really beautiful stuff and they have added some amazing things like jade lamp shades - wow... Definitely a place you MUST go while you're in Alaska. I really hope it's still around now and for years to come. Stop by and get something beautiful, and keep this place in business!!!
