Sometime next week, the exterior doors and windows will be put in, and the house will finally be, 'weathered in!' It has been so exciting to see the beautiful house that Dustin and Amanda designed, actually take shape! It has been quite an adventure, it has taken longer, and been more difficult than we expected. Dustin and Amanda, have always been there for us. They keep very close track of what is going on, they have made so many on site visits and know step by step what is happening at the building site, and keep us well informed (we live in Seattle and the house is in Depoe Bay). They are in close communication, especially with my general contractor. One time in particular, they had a serious talk with my general contractor, (my own attempts at voicing my frustrations had completely failed), which was extremely helpful in getting things moving at a faster pace. Many times, I have been very impressed watching Dustin talking with various sub contractors. Dustin understands in detail, what their concerns are, and is able to make positive suggestions. My wife and I are so happy that we chose Capri Architecture. Without their ideas and support, this whole building process would have ended in failure. If we had hired a 'designer', instead of an architect, the house would have been ordinary, not a beautiful, custom designed house on a challenging site, and there would have been little of their critical support. I love working with Dustin and Amanda of Capri Architecture! They are great people and easy to…read morework with. They listened to what I wanted and were willing to work to help me achieve my dream house, even if I wanted something a little different than what they designed. Dustin and Amanda were active in helping me find and interview builders. Their plans were very detailed and they helped me through the permit process. They also worked with my building contractor to firm up the plans and make changes to save me a few dollars. They are both easy to reach by telephone and Dustin was always right on top of things, getting bids, collecting information, etc., so that I could move forward with my future home. Here is how I started: I looked up reviews for architects in the local area as a preliminary step. They had many positive reviews. I also noted they designed projects for government entities, so I assumed they were fully vetted in that process. They are young and energetic. After meeting with them and looking at their designs, I could see that they would be enthusiastic about designing a modern-looking home. I also like that they provide oversight during the builder process, which helps me tremendously because I am out-of-state. We are not done yet. Building could start as early as July 2017. I would hope to update this review when everything is done.
