Jeremy kills haircuts! Takes his time and cuts your hair so it fits your face. Great location and vibe too.

So glad I found this hidden gem! All the other barber shops…read moresurrounding this one was all booked and the staff was rude at other salons EXCEPT for this one! I came in and immediately was greeted. Offered me drinks immediately after check-in and then I had my haircut with Melissa. She is really the best! Very kind, understanding and followed my picture with every detail! Probably one of the only hair stylist that could actually cut hair correctly, and quick! Definitely recommend this salon to everyone. Only thing is that it's a bit pricey, but I don't get haircuts often anyways so it's not a big deal!

Modern Male does a good job of capturing the 'male spa' experience without feeling forced or pretentious and they offer a wider array of services than their peers. While I haven't yet sampled any of the their other offerings, I have been returning to the same stylist (Courtney) for a haircut/ scalp treatment for the better part of a year so far and couldn't be happier. Truth be told, I'm not sure what the value of the scalp treatments is - or if I need it, but it's a really relaxing massage at the very least! Everyone in the salon is extremely pleasant and engaging, and the space is cozy, clean, and has a good energy about it. They don't have their own parking, but there is a large lot nearby and I've never really had any issue finding a spot. I intend to avail myself of their other services in the future, so I may edit at some point, but this place is aces in my book!

After living in Columbus for a few years, I'm happy to say I finally found a barbershop that I will…read morecontinue using. Goodfellow's Tonsorial Parlor was recommended by a friend after I griped about having a difficult time finding a reliable barber in Columbus. Welp, this little gem in German Village is just what I was looking for! It's an old house converted into a barbershop with 1-2 chairs per room. The decor is awesome and it feels very cozy. Booking online is a breeze, and no credit card is required to make an appointment for a regular haircut ($35). There is free street parking on High St or some of the side streets. I've been to two different barbers, and both did a great job on the cut. Personalities were surely different though -- one was very chatty, the other not so much. Thus, whether you like to chat it up, or just relax and zone out, you'll be able to find someone at Goodfellow's.

I rarely leave reviews on here, I would even say never, but the service at Goodfellow's Tonsorial…read moreParlor has left me utterly disappointed. I came in expecting a simple, neat trim, and I walked out with a haircut WAY shorter than what I asked for. I asked for half an inch off, but instead received TWO WHOLE INCHES OFF. Despite the awful haircut, the stylist who cut my hair was actually very kind, so I don't want to take away from that, but unfortunately she really messed up my hair. It seems her fingers were weighing her down...I appreciate kindness and good customer service, but at the end of the day, I came for a haircut I could feel good about, and now I'm stuck waiting for it to grow out before I can fix it somewhere else. For the price, the skill and attention to detail just weren't there.

I've been going here since I was 18. A brief 2 year break when I moved to Cleveland for two years…read moreand found a shop up there I loved, but then moved back to Columbus. I've gotten like 3 or 4 haircuts since I've been back here. Pretty much since there isn't anything around me that isn't a great clips or better in my area (this place is just an overpriced great clips with a neck shave), it's a 25min drive for me, so I am expecting a good haircut, especially from a legit barbershop. I'd say about half the time I walk out satisfied depending on who does my hair and what I ask them to do. Today was not one of those days... homie cooked me. Now, I don't write reviews, but I hope this helps someone or better yet, Travis sees it. I'm not coming back man. When you show a barber a picture of a haircut, you have plenty of length for them to work with, and have the same hair type, it really shouldn't be that hard to accomplish. It is literally your job. The guy that cut my hair literally cut like all of my hair off, didn't even ask how much I wanted off the top, just went for it. I just spent $36 (I can't believe I actually tipped) after my hair got butchered. I liked going to this place, mainly for the vibe and the neck shave, but I feel like they all only know how to do one haircut. Short. None of them really know how to do younger guys who like more modern styles with more length. I actually cut hair. I'm no professional, but my friends and brother come to me over any shop because of crap like this. You have to ask questions during the haircut. Not just ramble on about random crap just to make small talk. Actually ask the person throughout the haircut what they want and what the plan is before you start going to town. Because once you start cutting, it's too late to put it back. I understand there are appointments and time limitations, but I've been in that shop and I know for a fact it's not that busy to where a 30min slot can't be 45min. There's maybe one or two other people in there every time I go. What's the rush? Take the time to make sure you're actually giving the cut the customer wants, not what you want to give them. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are nice people and the shop itself is very nice, but yall got one job... how do you mess it up almost every time? The one time I didn't get messed up was with Drew. I asked him to trim up the sides and back, I told him to not even touch the top. The fact that that was my best haircut by them should say a lot. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else, and if you work here and are reading this, listen to the customer, if they show you a picture, LOOK AT IT. Now I gotta wait months for my hair to grow back out, and next time I need it cut, it won't be here.

Whiskey, Clippers, and Paw Maintenance for Grown Men…read more Sure, it's a little pricier than your average strip mall chop shop--but Hammer & Nails isn't just a haircut. It's a man spa experience, and honestly? My claws and paws have never felt more pampered. Walked in scruffy, walked out smooth--with a whiskey in hand, a mani/pedi that didn't feel like a bridal shower, and a haircut sharp enough to cut glass. The place is like a gentleman's lounge where they just happen to do excellent grooming instead of poker and questionable advice. Each chair comes with its own TV screen, so I watched my sports team blow a lead in peace while someone worked on my feet like they were restoring a classic car. The service? On point. The vibe? Chill. The nail game? Strong. It's self-care that smells like cedar and success. If you've ever wanted to feel like Ron Swanson (parks and recreation) at a day spa--this is your place. Bring a few extra bucks, leave a better man.
