Jeremy kills haircuts! Takes his time and cuts your hair so it fits your face. Great location and vibe too.

Modern Male does a good job of capturing the 'male spa' experience without feeling forced or pretentious and they offer a wider array of services than their peers. While I haven't yet sampled any of the their other offerings, I have been returning to the same stylist (Courtney) for a haircut/ scalp treatment for the better part of a year so far and couldn't be happier. Truth be told, I'm not sure what the value of the scalp treatments is - or if I need it, but it's a really relaxing massage at the very least! Everyone in the salon is extremely pleasant and engaging, and the space is cozy, clean, and has a good energy about it. They don't have their own parking, but there is a large lot nearby and I've never really had any issue finding a spot. I intend to avail myself of their other services in the future, so I may edit at some point, but this place is aces in my book!

He wanted a beard trim they messed up his beard and took it down a lot. It's expensive and he could have just buzzed his head at home. He said it actually hurt to have his beard trimmed. The place is clean but clearly don't know what they are doing. Save the money do it yourself or go to a barber shop.

Today was our first time at Goodfellow's and we'll definitely be back!…read more I spent time looking up different barber shops, trying to find a place where my son would have a good experience since his last couple cuts were really terrible. Booking was simple and you can easily see everyone's availability online. Since this was our first time, I wasn't sure who to pick, but I noticed that Cory had over 500 five star reviews so we went with him. I'm not sure how difficult parking is on a normal basis but we were able to park on the side street with no trouble. Once we stepped on to High Street, I wasn't quite sure which building it was because the lettering on the window is slightly hidden (and I didn't pay attention to what the address was when I started my navigation) but once you walk up closer you can see the barber pole. When you walk in you feel like you're walking back in time a little. The whole vibe was pretty great! When you walk in the counter is directly in front of you and there are some stairs that go up to what I believe is the massage area. There is seating there by the door and also off to the right, including a sofa. We were greeted right away and only had to wait for a little bit to get started. The barbers are in two different sections and there is enough space so you don't feel super crowded. My son told Cory exactly what he wanted and that's what Cory did. Cory talked with my son and made him feel comfortable which I absolutely loved because normally my son doesn't talk to the barber other than answering with head nods or simple words. I think Cory did a great job treating my son like a young man instead of a kid. My son had a little complaint and Cory fixed the issue immediately. I'm pretty sure my son just found his permanent barber! Even if you have to drive a little further, I think this place is definitely worth checking out. The prices were really reasonable, payment was easy, and the service was wonderful.

Goodfellow's Tonsorial Parlor was recommended by a friend after I griped about having a difficult time finding a reliable barber in Columbus. Welp, this little gem in German Village is just what I was looking for! It's an old house converted into a barbershop with 1-2 chairs per room. The decor is awesome and it feels very cozy. Booking online is a breeze, and no credit card is required to make an appointment for a regular haircut ($35). There is free street parking on High St or some of the side streets. I've been to two different barbers, and both did a great job on the cut. Personalities were surely different though -- one was very chatty, the other not so much. Thus, whether you like to chat it up, or just relax and zone out, you'll be able to find someone at Goodfellow's.

I've been going here since I was 18. A brief 2 year break when I moved to Cleveland for two years…read moreand found a shop up there I loved, but then moved back to Columbus. I've gotten like 3 or 4 haircuts since I've been back here. Pretty much since there isn't anything around me that isn't a great clips or better in my area (this place is just an overpriced great clips with a neck shave), it's a 25min drive for me, so I am expecting a good haircut, especially from a legit barbershop. I'd say about half the time I walk out satisfied depending on who does my hair and what I ask them to do. Today was not one of those days... homie cooked me. Now, I don't write reviews, but I hope this helps someone or better yet, Travis sees it. I'm not coming back man. When you show a barber a picture of a haircut, you have plenty of length for them to work with, and have the same hair type, it really shouldn't be that hard to accomplish. It is literally your job. The guy that cut my hair literally cut like all of my hair off, didn't even ask how much I wanted off the top, just went for it. I just spent $36 (I can't believe I actually tipped) after my hair got butchered. I liked going to this place, mainly for the vibe and the neck shave, but I feel like they all only know how to do one haircut. Short. None of them really know how to do younger guys who like more modern styles with more length. I actually cut hair. I'm no professional, but my friends and brother come to me over any shop because of crap like this. You have to ask questions during the haircut. Not just ramble on about random crap just to make small talk. Actually ask the person throughout the haircut what they want and what the plan is before you start going to town. Because once you start cutting, it's too late to put it back. I understand there are appointments and time limitations, but I've been in that shop and I know for a fact it's not that busy to where a 30min slot can't be 45min. There's maybe one or two other people in there every time I go. What's the rush? Take the time to make sure you're actually giving the cut the customer wants, not what you want to give them. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are nice people and the shop itself is very nice, but yall got one job... how do you mess it up almost every time? The one time I didn't get messed up was with Drew. I asked him to trim up the sides and back, I told him to not even touch the top. The fact that that was my best haircut by them should say a lot. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else, and if you work here and are reading this, listen to the customer, if they show you a picture, LOOK AT IT. Now I gotta wait months for my hair to grow back out, and next time I need it cut, it won't be here.
