I can not thank Oakmont of Brookside enough for the wonderful care they gave our Mom while she…read morelived at Oakmont Brookside Assisted Living and Oakmont Memory Care. My Mom LOVED living at Oakmont. The staff were so sweet, patient and caring. They really cared about my Mom and wanted to make sure she was happy and all her needs were being taken care of at all times and my Mom knew it and loved the attention. When we would have lunch with Mom in the dining room, the servers would greet Mom by name and say hello to her. Even the Maintenance Crew would say hello to my Mom(by her first name) when they walked by. We were so impressed with the kindness of everyone there, it made us so happy we picked Oakmont of Brookside for my Mom to spend the rest of her life there. My Mom was a VERY picky eater and that was one of the main reasons we picked Oakmont, because they had such a variety of choices at every meal for my Mom to pick from. If she didn't like the special for lunch or dinner, she could have breakfast anytime or a hamburger or a sandwich and more. They were so flexible, it made Mom happy with her meals from day one and let me tell you, that was no easy feat, but at Oakmont, she was so pleased with all of her food choices. She also loved being served all of her meals on cloth table clothes and napkins with real plates, glasses and flatware by servers. She felt like she was going out to a restaurant every time she ate. The staff at Oakmont (every single one of them) went above and beyond helping my Mom when she needed to transition over to Memory Care. She really gave them a run for their money when the decision was made that she needed Memory Care. Their patience and loving care was so appreciated by her 3 children. Mom didn't like Memory Care the first week she was there. She threw tantalums and really made life difficult, but they were so caring, and patient, within a week, she loved Memory Care. Nadia, who is in charge of Memory Care asked me to give Mom a couples of days to get relaxed and get settled in to the Memory Care side. Nadia knew what she was talking about and soon, Mom was comfortable and loved Memory Care and the whole staff. I'm running out of room or I could go on and on about how happy we were with Oakmont of Brookside, all of the people and especially Patty and Nadia, who helped us navigate through the last weeks with Mom. THANK YOU to everyone at this location. You are all angels here on earth. Everyone from the greeters in the lobby, to the Restaurant staff, to the Maintenance staff, to the house cleaners, to the staff that worked with her everyday. A BIG THANK YOU to the people that worked with Mom everyday! Thank you for giving us the peace of mind that our Mother was taken care of BETTER than we ever could have taken care of her ourselves. A million thanks to all of you. If you have a loved one who is thinking of an Assisted Living faculty or if you need Memory Care help, I highly recommend Oakmont of Brookside! If I could give them more than 5 stars, I WOULD! Carol

The decision to move into an independent or assisted living environment is a tough one. My Mom is very independent and despite some health issues and challenges, wasn't ready to move out of her home. She did tell me she was interested in touring O'Connor Woods, so we scheduled an appointment and met with Mary Ann. An extensive tour of available apartments and the grounds, along with a thorough explanation of what is offered at The Woods put my Mom right at ease. Absolutely a professional in every way - Mary Ann was excellent and made my Mom feel comfortable asking questions. We had a chance to dine at the facility, and really enjoyed both the service and food. The entire community is beautifully laid out among gorgeous oak trees (a staple of the Valley!). The residents are friendly, happy and engaged. Food is delicious! We are so excited that Mom picked her favorite spot and will be moving in very soon. Thank you to the staff at O'Connor Woods.
