Lobby in COVID times

REVIEW IN COVID TIMES This review goes for all those couples and/or families who are wondering how this place works in COVID times. I've always heard good things about SUNCADIA, they're always fully booked (winter break, spring break and summer,) and I can totally see why. The whole place is so beautiful, the forest, the mountains, lots of trails combined with SUNCADIA facilities (golf course, pools, skate rink, etc etc) = perfection. We came in WINTER and got lots of snow. We brought our own sleds and had a blast sliding. We swam in the pool (I'll talk about it later) but most of the time we were outdoors. And here's the thing, we enjoyed our stay here because IT WAS PRETTY EMPTY. In a pandemic you wanna avoid the crowds, right? We stayed from Monday to Wednesday and most of the activities were CLOSED pffff LOL (no skate rink, no water slides, tubing opens on Wed to Sunday) SO... if you wanna enjoy their activities you better stay between Wednesday and Sunday BUT be ready for a crowded weekend (eeeek!) The lodge pool was out of order, their fire pits were flooded (too bad because they have complimentary s'mores kits); however we were able to have fun tubing $20 per person and it was empty just for us. There's no room service in COVID times, but the bar and the restaurant (Portals) are open, no need to make a reservation. Also they have TAKE OUT choice (pretty convenient and safe) For breakfast they also have a coffee shop, in my opinion is too expensive and very limited BUT in COVID times I guess it is the best alternative. They've implemented a series of safety/healthy measures: no cleaning your room unless you request it, no need to touch the phone or tv remote control, everything can be done from your cellphone. And for the indoor pool/fitness center you and your family need to have a reservation.

Drinks and a beautiful view for our dinner

Although it was a short trip for my wife and I, we enjoyed our stay. We ate at their restaurant and had one of our best experiences with the staff. Our waitress was above and beyond in service and explaining their trend of buying locally. Even going to the back two times to ask specific questions about their coffee beans and dessert. We ordered the arugula salad with salmon and the chefs choice pasta. For dessert we ordered their carrot cake and lavender ice cream. Both were created in house and exceeded all expectations! Views, trails, outdoor pool, room and that's only in the one spot on property we stayed at. We ended our trip with the spa right next door. Wow is all we have to say. The customer service there was phenomenal. We ended up getting a couples massage and words can't describe what that experience felt like. The attention to detail was very professional and we felt so welcomed. Overall this is our new sanctuary away from the city. We will absolutely be back. There's even houses in which our whole family of 9 are able to stay. Family vacations or romantic get aways.

Rack of Lambs at Portals (Lodge Restaurant)

Bottom Line: the area and resort is nice. The service and hospitality staff are generally terrible and distracting at best. You'll have maximum opportunities to take advantage of the resort fee that you are paying for. Service & Hospitality: generally unhelpful, easily annoyed, and there's a perspective that there's a proverbial "chip" on mostly everyone's shoulders. There are of course exceptions: valet staff, select Nelson Farm workers, etc., but not the rule. If you tamper your expectations and don't think about the amount of money you've spent to stay here... then you'll get to enjoy the surrounding view that this Resort is built on. Lodge/Room: we stayed in a 2-bed room suite and it was generally nice. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The appliances that were in the room were operable and in good condition. There was no housekeeping during our 4-day stay and to be fair the front desk informed us of the non-service. They did, however, offer to exchange dirty towels and provide additional amenities on request. Although our view was of the resort- it was still great and breathtaking. Food: there is no room service at the lodge. However, you can place an order for pickup at the in-house restaurant (Portals). We ate at the actual restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both times were underwhelming. Food was either bland (dinner) or very salty (breakfast). The service here was great and the wait staff was very attentive. You cant beat the view either and the price of plates cost from a range of $15-50. For a family of 4- expect to pay about $160-225 with drinks (cocktails/wine). Won't complain about the price since it is a "resort." Swimming Pool: the outdoor pools are open but the indoor pool is closed for construction. Although relatively cold for May, the outdoor pool was heated to accommodate for the chilly weather. It was relatively large and people went in and out regularly to keep the headcount at a comfortable level. The outdoor pool also had a concession stand so that people can grab lunch. Plenty of places to sit and lawn chairs are available. Resort Fee Activities: we took advantage of Nelson Farm activities, shuttles, s'more night, face paintings, and lawn games. Activities were well spread across and accommodating. The face painting line for the kids were relatively long (15-20 min) but compared to Disney lines... goes by fast. Overall: probably will not come back. While the view and resort feel... was remarkable... the hospitality and service unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth. I would recommend this place to only those that had some cash to throw around and were looking for a "glamping" feel but would tell them to highly temper their expectations of getting assistance while at the resort. Essentially- if one grew up in New England, Philadelphia, or New York City- the hospitality is about the same.... Maybe worse here on certain days so choose wisely.

To set the scene - I booked a 2 night stay in February 2021 to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday. We are generally not the kind of people who book expensive hotels - so this was a splurge for us. I was confident that the investment would prove worthy - but unfortunately, I was shown time and time again that Suncadia is woefully overrated. CHECK IN PROCEDURE First of all - I called TWICE prior to my booking to confirm that check in was at 4 - because we were driving from quite a ways away - and I didn't want to be left in the cold (literally and figuratively). Both times, I was assured that we could check in at 4. One representative even said they'd even write down that I requested early check in. "Great", I thought! So, on the day of our check in, we arrived promptly at 4 - but were told by the front desk that "check in starts at 4 and goes till 5 and later". I was shocked and annoyed. We drive nearly 2 hours to arrive on time - so that we could make the most of our $620 2 nights (you read that right - $620 for 2 nights). Unfortunately, we then proceeded to wait 40 minutes, in our freezing cold car until we could check in and bring out bags inside. Not a great start. Once we finally got the call that our room was ready - 40 after 4pm - we pulled back up to reception and asked for a cart. I was met with a stern, and unfriendly "we don't give out carts - we can bring one to you and take your things up for you - but we don't do that". So in reality, they force you to use one of they're employees to bring up your bags so that you're indebted to tipping them. "No thanks", we said - and we shlepped our food and bags up to the room without carts (okay, again - not ideal). THE ROOM When we got to the room, we were reasonably pleased, but somewhat disappointed that our room did not feature a fireplace - as specified in the booking photos. Moreover, the duvet was dirty and ripped, and the kettle on the stove was still full of someone else's water. While the decor was dated, the room was otherwise clean and tidy. Fine. Unfortunately, we soon found out that dog friendly hotels are not great for folks without dogs (or those with a fear of dogs). We proceeded to listen to LOUD barking in and off for our entire stay - and he was clear that staff had no concern for the way others pets infringed upon our enjoyment of our stay. It's unclear to me why dogs are apparently allowed on all floors - it would seem more practical to have only certain floors that are pet friendly so that other guests are not disturbed. Another big "miss" for Suncadia, there. HOUSEKEEPING After our first night, I was hopeful that housekeeping might drop off more coffee (they only left us 2 caffeinated K cups for a 2 night stay), but was disappointed there as well. I guess I'll give them a "pass" for that, because the lack of housekeeping could be Covid related - and that's fine. I just wish I knew to pack my own coffee. The booking said that coffee was included, so I had assumed there would be enough for the length of our stay... nope. "AMENITIES" Regarding the pool/hot tub situation - both are open, but not being monitored whatsoever for Covid regulations. The hot tub is rather small, every time we checked, it was packed with 6-8 people - meaning that they were not nearly 6ft apart! That was a no-go for us - again, unfortunate. I would rather have reservations, and KNOW that a limited capacity spot is available - rather than checking many times - and seeing the same non-covid friendly situation each time. One thing that future prospective guests should also note - nearly ALL of the "amenities" cost money. With the exception of the lodge pool, and the resort fitness center - everything comes with an added expense. We found the pricing to be astronomically high - especially considering the price required to stay on property m - you'd think that more of the "amenities" would come included - or at least for less than $20/person... OVERALL I'm sad to say that our stay felt like a MASSIVE waste of a 2hr drive, and $620 price tag for 2 nights... from the extremely dissatisfactory check in experience, to the dogs, pool, and added fees for "amenities" - I'll stay at a freakin' Best Western next time and save hundreds. We won't be returning.

Our room views today!!!

Love love love!! Baci and I loved our recent stay here. Stunning views! Clean room. Great hikes/ stairs and so much to explore. The lobby is quite pretty and empty. Parking is plenty/ self park or valet. The rooms are somewhat spacious. I love the views. And the stars are super bright at night since you are in the middle of nowhere. Not much to do here except to hike, walk, realx! Golf course is gorgeous! The pools are well maintained and by reservations only ( covid measures). Restaurants are open but limited hours. There's a bar in the lobby! Or the Swift water cellar on the property ( a short 4 minutes drive or with free shuttle). Pros: all the nature/ views! Clean rooms. Cons' elevator traffic, hard to reach staff/get help/ bell desk etc. But overall, its such a stunning place you wont mind the minor issues. And we had a kitchen/plates/ utensils/ dishwasher and all in the room. We didn't come prepare to cook but if we did, this would be a place for it. Some of the glasses and plates are a little dirty in our room but nothing a little wash cant fix. It is pretty hard to reach housekeeping for most things. Texting is easier if you have hyatt concierge help. Overall, beautiful place!! And we love how dog friendly they are. $75 per stay per pet. Worth it!

It is beautiful here. Perfect for families and kids. We took our dog and stayed in a pet friendly room. Well sadly our dog found candy (chocolate ) not once, not twice but four times! The room was not cleaned very well. A empty water bottle was visible on the floor between the tv cabinet and desk. Dust bunnies everywhere and smashed bugs on the wall (see picture). Another bummer but we totally understand, dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant. But staff was wonderful and we sat outside with our dog. The food was excellent for all 3 meals we ate on the property. We will be back without our pet and hopefully get a cleaner room.

I was very much looking forward to the first post-pandemic visit. I brought my dog on this trip to celebrate his one-year adoption anniversary. After driving 1.5 hours we arrive to the Lodge at 3:45pm. They told me that the room wasn't ready and they'll call me when it's ready. I didn't think anything of it since check-in is at 4pm and I was a bit early. 4:30 rolls around and I check back, they said it's not ready and it'll likely be 5:15 due to housekeeping delay. They said check-in is supposed to be in the 4:00-6:00PM time frame. Nothing in their email communication indicated that info, because had I gotten that in advance, I wouldn't have left my place so early. I check back again at 5:15, and they said it'll probably within the hour. It's our first outing and there were a lot of people in the lobby waiting for check-in as well. My dog was starting to shake from all the stimulation. It was too hot to have him be outside. Finally, at 6:00PM (after 2 hours) I got a text saying the room is ready. I get into the room and found chip crumbs on the floor and a plastic knife by the desk. Next day, I also found some plastic rings (like toys?) that fell behind the credenza (see picture). So the the extended time for cleaning still resulted all the trash in the room. I was so tired at that point, that I decided to do room service. The line rang unanswered. I call the restaurant direct number and was told in-room dining is not available which would help if they had a recording. I asked about dog treats since the website indicated complimentary treats for fido, and the front desk said they don't have that. The extra pet fee is for cleaning (again, I find that term highly ironic). I bought a soda from their cafe, looked at my receipt today and saw they charged me for two. I feel like I'm cursed on with the hotel's service. The upside is that I did get a $100 credit towards dining. I checked two times to make sure it's there as I'm concerned I would be charged. The other nice thing is the surroundings. Really serene, scenic, and great walking trails. All in all, I don't think the place is worth the amount given the condition of the room and poor management/operations. This is a Hyatt hotel and touts itself as a luxury resort when it doesn't feel that way. I won't be returning.

Delicious salmon fillet with orzo pasta, yes again from Portals!

We had been to Suncadia twice before in the winter, but our summer experience was beyond amazing. We ended up enjoying the resort so much that we extended our stay for 2 more days and we were lucky enough to be able to keep our original room as well. Activities 1. The swimming pools are open for use BY RESERVATION ONLY. You can make reservations online 48 hrs before your check-in day. They also take breaks throughout the day to sanitize and clean the pools thoroughly before the next batch is allowed in. 2. If you want to swim and enjoy the cold, refreshing water of Cle Elum Lake, you can walk down the 1000 steps and reach the "Riverfront Park" where you can enjoy the sun, have a picnic, or swim! 3. There are MANY trails and loops around the Suncadia property to hike and bike. Bike rentals are available at the Pavillon for $10/hour. 4. You can also rent kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and other equipment at the Pavillon. 5. Horse riding is another option but we didn't end up having time for it. Food 1. There are several restaurants on the Suncadia property, and if you are willing to leave your parking spot, you can find some great eats outside of Suncadia, near Cle Elum and Roslyn. 2. We ate at Swift-water wine cellars last time we were here and the food was good, live jazz music added a nice touch to the festive season of December. They are very popular so advance reservations are highly recommended. 3. This time we ate at the Portals restaurant on the main floor of the Lodge. The food was DELICIOUS and the service was AWESOME. They offer take-out options, in-room dining, and dining in at the restaurant/outside seating at a limited capacity. Again, reservations are recommended!! I liked Portals more than Swift-water cellar because their food was more refreshing. Swift-water is delicious as well, but all of their menu items are super indulgent and "rich" tasting whereas Portals offers more balanced dishes. 4. The coffee shop on the main floor has a great variety of espresso drinks to choose from, as well as other items like chai latte, hot cocoa, and some baked goods depending on when you go. Although our drinks tasted good, $5.27 is a bit pricey for a 8 oz latte in my opinion! I also wish they were open for longer, they open at 6:30 am and close by 12:30-1 pm. Other notes 1. The service overall is spectacular. From the front desk to the hostess at Portals restaurant, everyone is super sweet and helpful and genuinely want to ensure that you have a great experience at Suncadia. 2. I'm sure there's more to do during the winter season too, but I would recommend going during summer break (as explained above) 3. I wish they would install water filters/gallons/vending machines around the lodge because it was 90 degrees almost everyday and it was hard to find cold, drinkable water since the coffee shop closed early and the restaurants also took cleaning breaks between operation times. 3. Masks are REQUIRED to enter the property and must stay on at all times. There are posters everywhere reinforcing that as well. All the staff members were wearing gloves and masks and I don't recall a moment where I saw someone without a mask! Thank you for such a great experience, we will certainly be back!

It happens to be in downtown Cle Elum, and as in with walking distance to a few local bars and restaurants. From the moment we stepped in, we felt so much at home. The space was warm and charming with attention to detail on all levels. The room had an appealing modern atmosphere. The cozy bed with luxury sheets and pillows were amazing to sleep in. We loved having our coffee in the morning in the front room with the small kitchenette. We also enjoyed having access to a fridge where we could bring back a nice bottle of wine for a nightcap. When we went to check out, I have the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ellen and her adorable dog Lady. The lobby is quite elegant with treasure troves a beautiful treasures. I shared with her that we truly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back!

I did see they were listed on Airbnb as well, but I booked directly through their website, we got the King studio for around $200 for the night. The morning of check-in I received an email for a contactless check-in, that was a nice touch! The hotel is in a great location and main street is just around the corner from it! We parked on the street, got into our room with the code they emailed us, and walked into town for dinner. The room is super cute! Nice modern touches all around. The walls are kinda thin, later in the night we heard ppl downstairs, it sounded like in the staircase, and it was pretty loud, but didn't last for long. The bed was comfy, they had dishes, mini fridge (no freezer in this room), and a convenient microwave. I did notice this hotel is listed on Redfin for sale ($4+ mill, I was just poking around Redfin and noticed the listing). Hopefully if they sell, the facilities will stay as nice! I asked the front desk and they have been open for almost 2 years they said. Looks brand spanking new still, especially compared to the historic buildings of Roslyn. Loved our stay here and would recommend to friends under current management! (which a friend did end up booking for a weekend because she saw my photos I posted on my IG hehe)

Incredible......Every minute of our 2 day stay was absolutely incredible…read more To be fair, we are normal everday middle class people, so it doesn't take much to exceed expectations. We arrived & the valet guy was incredibly helpful with the check-in process & transporting our bags to the room. The property is beautiful and our room with hot tub was impressive. The Source bar within the hotel has great drinks & food, but the service staff was the best I've ever had anywhere. The bartender, she made the drinks strong enough that it felt worth the cost (which I was greatful for) and made them sweeter when I needed them to be. The waiter Mason........ literally the best waiter I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. Just attentive enough to feel taken care of, but not so much to be annoying, he was also training a new employee and was doing a fantastic job from what i was seeing. Explaining the job to such a degree of understanding that I only wish every restaurant had a "Mason" to train new employees. I want to give 3 Gold stars to the chef for the perfectly cooked lobster and shrimp mac. Im no pro, but I know how hard it is to cook lobster & shrimp to perfection thanks to the Food Network and the perfectly Al Dente bucatini with marsala mushrooms were sauted to ultimate tastiness. It's been a long time since we've had a meal that well cooked & it was delicious. Day 2, My husband & I had couples massage & facial at The Glade. Emily & Hailey were absolutely amazing massage therapist, they both listened to our needs in detail & they were executed to absolute perfection. Not once, did I need to tell her softer or harder and I have a severely broken foot i had surgery on 6wks ago. Every move she made, was made with my absolute comfort & relaxation in mind. Conversion was easy & relaxed, it felt like we've known them both for years. I would suggest that management consider Hailey's ideas in adding soundbath therapies. That would have made an incredible experience that much better. After our massage, I had a facial with Abby. She as well, listened to my needs and gave me the most spectacular & soothing facial with an equally easy & relaxed conversation. It felt wonderful to be taken care of to such a degree. The oxygenating fizzofoliant was so wonderfully bizarre that I purchased a bottle for myself. We had dinner reservations made a few minutes down the road so we were given shuttle service by Doyle, a hilariously quirky lovely older gentleman that played the best music for our 5 minute trip and Ben who jumped in to pick us up after dinner when Doyle was busy shutting other guests. The food at The Stovehouse was incredibly delicious, the tortilla chips were freshly made & perfectly crisp, the salsa had just the right amount chunk to sauce to heat & the guacamole was so good it had to be handmade. Clearly by someone who has a 100 year old family guacamole recipe running through their veins. The tuna was perfectly seared and the greens fresh & crisp, but again, our server Brennan was just as fantastic as we had at The source. He was perfectly attentive without feeling overwhelming & was incredibly helpful with a few silly requests that I had. All the staff seemed genuinely happy and content to work there, not a single word or action felt forced or even only nice because they were being paid to as part of the job. I really hope they're paid well, because Suncadia hit the jackpot with all of them. The only complaints we could nit pick about was that with my broken foot I wasn't able to take the 1,000 steps down to the river, the coffee shop doesn't open until 7am & The Glade could use a cold plunge pool for the people who like to use the mineral pools & sauna for long periods of time. I only wish that we could afford to come here again. Ive literally never felt this relax and well cared for by everyone at Suncadia.

Our stay at Suncadia the past two days was nothing short of disappointing. We had booked a stay…read morehere based on a family member's recommendation after she had a phenomenal experience last year. From check in to (early) check out it progressively got worse. We were coming for our babymoon and had requested as quiet a room as possible at the Inn (a more secluded stay to begin with). The room itself was mid-tier as knobs were broken on the side table, the patio only had one chair (despite other rooms having two chairs) and was covered in pine needles, there wasn't a way to stir the coffee made in the room (no spoons feels odd considering they have cream and sugar), and the shower struggled to get any hot water despite our best efforts. Starting on our second day, we found ourselves in a room next to a family where we could hear their young baby/toddler screaming and crying most hours they were in their room. Not a relaxing way to spend some private time together before we become a family of three. In terms of the restaurants, there were the two main restaurants and the service was lackluster throughout our stay. Almost no one checked in on us, food items were out at Stovehouse on our second day (which as a gluten free individual, became incredibly restrictive), and at one point my husband had to flag down a different waiter just so we could get our check and leave. The food itself was mediocre at best. It felt like most of the staff were new at their job as we had to constantly point out false charges (the guy at Rope Rider Golf Course tried to charge my husband for a round of golf despite it being included in our stay package) or failed to let us know about any hotel amenities (we missed s'mores hour the first night because no one told us where it was or how to be a part of it and no one let us know how to access the wifi). What was the nail in the coffin was our third day. We had booked the Putt and Pamper Package specifically to discount down one of my spa treatments as I am almost in my third trimester and wanted a day of relaxation and discounting down one of two treatments would be helpful financially. When I called to book my treatments (50-minute massage and 80-minute body treatment), my personal concierge was struggling to get the treatments booked on her end as she wasn't perfectly connected to the spa system, but let me know she'd get the two treatments booked and would call me if there were any issues. I never received a call so I assumed everything was taken care of. When I went in to check in for my spa treatments, the spa told me I was not even on the schedule and they could only accommodate both treatments if they were hours apart from each other. I ended up ditching the body treatment and kept the 50 minute massage (which would have absolutely been a longer massage had I not booked the room package I did). No concessions were offered which was surprising to me as someone who works in a customer service type role myself and is often in a position to offer those sorts of things when mistakes like this occur and I got to my massage later in the day trying to keep a positive attitude. The massage itself was nice but I could barely enjoy the rest of the spa's amenities as it began raining and the spa tubs and other pools were all outdoors in direct line of the rain. After all of this, we decided to cut our losses and leave a day early. The manager was at least accommodating considering everything and refunded our room fee for the third night, but it was still a disappointing end to what was supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip for my husband and I. The one highlight was a day of golf at Rope Rider with my husband. A beautiful golf course and challenging for golfers of all levels.

Update: Resort…read moreManager Mo was really helpful and understood our concerns, also helped us check out even a day earlier since we were not happy about the overall experience. Adding a star for all other amenities (Hot tub, heated pool) we were able to use which were great ******************** We booked the Inn at Suncadia for my wife's birthday in September 2021. We did not had a good overall experience and surely not coming back, I suggest you stay away as well! Below are few details Check Inn: For Inn you need to check-in at the lodge, we paid for a golf course view room. The lady at the check inn gave us room 15 and was confident it was a golf view room. It turned out all I could see from the room was the parking lot! When I went back asking for what I paid for they said they are all booked and can not do anything now! (They did provide some resort credit and I added a star for that) but the Birthday trip was spoiled looking at the parking lot :( I was told a supervisor would reach out but never heard from anyone, I guess they don't care for the guest once they pay! They just want you to shut up and take whatever they offer Rooms: At first look rooms looked nice and eventually the downward journey started, room bedding had some pungent smell and we could barely sleep at the night, to add the beds were the worst beds I have ever slept on. We could literally feel the springs all night. I bet a motel on the highway would have better beds than this 3-4 star resort. We decided to use our sleeping bags and sleep on the floor. They really need to improve the customer service and overall hygiene and cleanness in the room

As soon as you walk in, you see the receptionist area, which is unlike any other hotel or lodging facility. Instead of walking up to the counter, you take a seat in one of the comfy chairs at the receptionist desk, treating you like you are a VIP here. It was a great first impression. When I walked in my room, I loved everything about it! It really was reminiscent of a lodge in the woods, as the decor reflected that. The doors to the bathroom were even barn doors, which I thought was such a nice touch! But there were so many positive of the room like the deep-soaking tub, provided robes, a private outdoor area with rocking chairs and my favorite part was the fireplace! I didn't want to leave my room, or more particularly, the king size bed! So comfy! What's also cool about the room is that the bathroom has a window area from the tub, where you can look into the main room or close it off for privacy with the shutter doors. It was especially nice to have this option, so you could watch TV while soaking in the tub (which I totally did!). Plus, there's a separate vanity desk area, so you don't have to share the bathroom when you're getting ready. They also provided toiletries, Keurig coffee pods, tea, cork screw (clever!), mini fridge, 425 Magazine, free wifi, and if you have any questions - you can text back the number that texts you when you check in and they will respond shortly after. There's even a shuttle that takes you anywhere on the resort grounds! I highly recommend that if you're staying at Suncadia for the weekend, the Inn is a great option, as it really has that home-feel and relaxing vibe to it. I just wish I could've stayed longer!

Unfortunately, after repeated experiences, it simply does not. As someone who frequently travels and dines at upscale restaurants and banquets, I can confidently say that what is marketed as refined here does not align with what is delivered. On multiple occasions, we found long dark hairs in our food -- including in my children's mac and cheese. This was not a one-time oversight. It became a pattern. Even more concerning, management-level staff with very long dark hair were consistently seen delivering food without it properly secured. When basic food safety standards appear optional at the leadership level, it speaks volumes. Beyond that, service execution is disorganized. Tables are crowded, and we repeatedly received incomplete settings or missing items -- condiments, steak knives, and at times portions of the meal itself. These are elementary details for any restaurant, let alone one positioning itself as upscale. The only bright spot was one blonde server named Sandi who handled the situation with professionalism and composure. She demonstrated the level of service the restaurant claims to embody. What ultimately makes the experience untenable is the atmosphere created by the head chef audibly yelling tickets and shouting at staff throughout service. A dining room should feel polished and controlled -- not chaotic and tense. After giving this establishment many opportunities to improve, we have decided not to return. High-end dining is not about price points or aesthetics -- it is about consistency, leadership, and standards. Those fundamentals are currently lacking here. Gorgeous place nonetheless.

I got it on my birthday instead of nookie and it took 10 days of medical treatment to expunge. I reported it to the health dept and they just repeated what the hotel told them about pH balance and sanitary levels. I spent three hours in a tub without a staffer taking levels. In Palm Springs, it is on the clock hourly. 2) in the snow tubing area, which was vast, I flew into a frozen pond and broke through to what smelled liked raw sewage, Suncadia reports it's just water run off. It was not quite "It's a Wonderful Life" traumatizing... but it's the first thing I remember about my birthday... even over the UTI that prevented me from making love to my husband for two weeks. 3) My gift was left in the room but never reported as missing. My only birthday gift this year. 4) Suncadia is a total cheap repelicant of rich people resorts. I don't want to go to those places because I detest rich people. However Suncadia is simple and overwhelmed, like the Vegas version of the Eiffel tower instead of the real Effiel tower.

For instance, looking for a motel in the Snoqualmie Pass area, we drove right on through the gravel lot of a budget motel that claimed the only room under $55. This is because the carparks beside the dumpy strip of rooms were filled with smashed automobiles and one guy (who we assumed was the establishment's proprietor) had his door open and sat in nothing but his boxer shorts, holding a TV remote and looking about as unwashed as the room he occupied. In short, major creepfactor. Blessfully, Chalet Motel is decently-priced ($65) and low on creepfactor. The manager is the most welcoming one I've met yet. He genuinely asked to hear about our trip and talked about the motel and town and how to correctly pronounce Cle Elum. He showed us our room, gave us extra towels, told us (before we could even ask) that, since we'd arrived so late, we could have a late checkout. In the morning, he was just as cheerful, shook our hands, and wished us well on the rest of our journey. The room and facilities, however, was closer to 2 stars. Though the exterior is quaint-looking with all the manager's potted flowers hanging about, the room looked cheaply constructed and poorly maintained. The carpet was old and stained, the bathroom floor was dirty with bug parts and the shower was made of cheap plastic sheeting, making me feel like I was showering in somebody's RV. Nevertheless, I give Chalet 3 stars, overall, due to the comfort created by the owner. Considering what the next cheapest motel in the area looked like, Chalet is a budgeter's refuge. ~Amenities~ Microwave Minifridge Cable TV Free WiFi Coffee maker

We called all over town for a room but there was a wedding and a horse show and this was the only place that had a room. First off the staff was very friendly and gave us a discount on the room and even walked us there and made sure everything was ok. The room was basic with two beds but they were clean and soft. I would stay here again.
