So while we were waiting I remembered there was a comic-book/collectibles shop in town, I knew this from all the times I have been to the Downtown Leesburg area and wanting to go inside the shop but never had enough time to go inside. First thing that I loved about the shop was the pretty lit name Not Just Cardboard which I thought was a really clever name for the type of shop it was. So once I entered the establishment I was transported to a Magical Land of throwback collectibles, yesteryear toys, toys from my childhood, throwback sport jersey, and an amazing collection of old and new comic books. I saw some toys inside there that I haven't see since I was a little kid, like the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Morphing Action figures from the original toy line of the show which I believe are really hard to find if your a collector. The store is owned and operated by these three guys Mike, Mark, and Dave I was able to chat it up with both Mark and Mike both were really nice guys who had great customer service. They both really knew their stuff about the things they were selling in their shop very knowledgeable. They wanted me to let anyone who was making their way to the shop that they were in the middle of a remodel and that that's why it might look a little disorganized in the shop right now but that they are still open and that once the remodel is over its going to be a even more of a Magical Place for everyone who visit the shop. This kinda a shops are the shops that I love because you never know what you might find you could find something new or something that's is old but you will always find something magical that brings joy to your life and reminds you of how life should be lived because life is short and should be lived to the fullest. So in closing if you ever find yourself in the Downtown Leesburg, FL area and your looking for a little Magic that will bring you back to better days check out Not Just Cardboard.

I love the variety that they have and they even have a toy train setup that kids can play with! This place has toys that are catered to young children and I love that so much because you don't find many stores like that anymore. Restroom is not for public use. I would defintely return. They have ALL KINDS of board games and puzzles. I was able to find a couple of great toys for my toddler for Christmas so I exited with a smile on my face. I noticed that all toys are appropriately priced and if they run out of something, they will try to get it for you (that's the vibe I got when talking to the owner). The issue is when they only have 1 check out open and maybe 2 or 3 self check outs. They now limit the self check outs to 10 items or less. If anyone has an issue on the self check out, they have to wait for the sole full check out person to be available to help them. It's a bad model to have the self check outs managed by the regular check out person. It leads to long wait times and a stressed out looking clerk. Plus if they have to help at self check out, then their line is at a stand still and vice versa. I like Target as a store, but the way they've been handling check out this past year has A LOT of room for improvement.

I will say, if you're looking at kids clothes, toys, young women's and men's clothes then Lady Lake is the better option. The demographic in Lady Lake being 55+ means they aren't buying these products that are probably sold out in Ocala. The store is also clean and organized every time I shop here. I prefer visiting the Lady Lake location, getting an iced chai at Starbucks and getting some steps in while shopping is always a treat.
