Maybe part of my enjoyment from this visit is that I am opening my eyes to other thing's in life than I did before. There are times that I need to find thing's to do other than physical activity although that is my top priority but in the heat of the Florida summer it is good to explore other options. Let's say I truly never realized how much Hobby Lobby had in their on store! Shocking and yes I payed attention! There is everything from scrapbooking, jewelry making, floral design, fabrics galore and sewing, lot's of yarn and all kinds of needle craft, kitchen ware and baking to cake decorating! There are tons of beautiful home decor and many picture frames! Doll houses, model kits, clay molding and sculpting, wood crafts, leather crafts, doll making, tools for all of these thing's. Hobbies and all sorts of collecting for kids and adults, arts & crafts, games and toys, party supplies and so much more! If you are looking and unsure where to start Hobby Lobby will not disappoint. The prices are great and there seems to be sales going on regularly and you can view the weekly ad easily on their website! If you have a day where the heat is too much or you just would like to do something low key I really would recommend a visit. You could legitimately spend a couple of hours just looking through everything. Today I stopped by Michaels to exchange a skein of yarn for a different color and possibly purchase…read moreadditional yarn. When I walked up to the checkout area, there were at least two self-checkout stations available and one cashier behind the register. There were no other customers waiting to check out. Despite this, the cashier spent several minutes talking with another employee standing in front of the register before either of them acknowledged that I was there. Once the other employee stepped aside, I politely smiled and moved my cart up to the counter, but I still wasn't acknowledged. Eventually, without making eye contact or greeting me, the cashier simply motioned with her hands for me to place my items on the counter. Since I also had a return, I waited until there was finally an opportunity to explain why I was there. After the other employee walked away, the cashier greeted me and processed my return. During our interaction, she repeatedly called out loudly to customers entering the checkout area, directing them to use the self-checkout stations, which made it difficult to have a conversation. I had planned to purchase an additional skein of yarn because I had seen an online promotion and wasn't sure whether the sale applied to all yarn or only certain brands. When I politely asked, the cashier responded, "How would I know that?" I was honestly taken aback by the response. Rather than ask another employee or offer to check, she dismissed the question entirely. At that point, I decided to put the extra yarn back and only purchase the replacement skein I originally came for. I understand that retail can be stressful, and everyone has difficult days. However, customers shouldn't feel like they're inconveniencing employees simply by asking for assistance or basic information. A friendly greeting, eye contact, and a willingness to either answer a question or find someone who can would have completely changed this experience. I'm leaving this review in hopes that it's taken as constructive feedback, because customer service is just as important as the products a store sells.
