I live so close to Hobby Lobby and I have only gone in there probably twice in 13 years. I will be changing this after my fantastic visit their today. Maybe part of my enjoyment from this visit is that I am opening my eyes to other thing's in life than I did before. There are times that I need to find thing's to do other than physical activity although that is my top priority but in the heat of the Florida summer it is good to explore other options. Let's say I truly never realized how much Hobby Lobby had in their on store! Shocking and yes I payed attention! There is everything from scrapbooking, jewelry making, floral design, fabrics galore and sewing, lot's of yarn and all kinds of needle craft, kitchen ware and baking to cake decorating! There are tons of beautiful home decor and many picture frames! Doll houses, model kits, clay molding and sculpting, wood crafts, leather crafts, doll making, tools for all of these thing's. Hobbies and all sorts of collecting for kids and adults, arts & crafts, games and toys, party supplies and so much more! If you are looking and unsure where to start Hobby Lobby will not disappoint. The prices are great and there seems to be sales going on regularly and you can view the weekly ad easily on their website! If you have a day where the heat is too much or you just would like to do something low key I really would recommend a visit. I have avoided hobby lobby for YEARS! I don't like their employment policies esp their refusal to allow employees to receive birth control through their insurance. As a nurse midwife and woman's' advocate, this is far too paternalistic and forceful evangelical behavior. Well, normally I don't have anything negative to say but I must say the staff at this particular Hobby Lobby need a refresher on customer service. Went on to return a few items. The first register where it states returns and exchanges was closed. All the lines were long so patiently waited. Once at the register was CURTLY told only registers 1&4 accept returns. Was there any signs? Nope, just the big sign from the ceiling which does NOT identify appropriate lanes. When mentioning this to the "front end" manager she pointed to the sign and said it's right there. Does it indicate which lane nope. So... I'll continue to go to Hobby Lobby BUT not the Ocala location. Sad... read more

Places like Hobby Lobby's rarely see me but because I was in town I walked around the store looking at nothing in particular. The staff and even the customers are really nice. People go in here already knowing what they want or they put the idea together while in the store. It's nice to get great customer service and to still be left alone. read more

wonderful asset to the citrus county area . however , the hurried opening left of this store left much to question. Compares to targets opening hobby lobby needed a little more time to clean up the area surrounding the store ... once you pull up you are dodging sandy dirt on all areas in the parking lot .. under developed landscaping as well as very concerning safety. construction equipment and tool were left out leaving you to believe are they concerned with opening as quick as possible and forgoing public safety. The store was full of merchandise in some areas and sparse in other areas . The quick opening might not have been well thought out . Non the less I'm hoping that in the coming months things Pic up as far as adjusting to merchandising demand and store aesthetics. read more

There is no doubt that Hobby Lobby is a great store. Big, lots of merchandise, and the prices are fair. The one thing I'm not crazy about is their policy to deduct 40% off the price of an item your returning for exchange if you don't have a sales slip. For farther day, my daughter gave me four artists drawing pads. They weren't the kind that I use so I went in to exchange them for the kind that I do use. Of course I didn't have a sales slip, I just wanted to exchange them for the correct kind. They did exchange them but they deducted 40% off the return price. I turned in four but could only exchange for two. I think 40% is a little high. read more

Horrible customer service!! I am not super familiar with this large store so I asked an unoccupied employee in the frame department where to locate a certain frame style when I was unable to on my own. After I politely asked for help, this employee acted as if this was the biggest inconvenience for her and proceeded to roll their eyes. We only ended up going to the next isle over which I had not seen so I am not sure what her issue was. Due to this poor customer service, you will not be receiving my business from here. read more

Waiting in line for 20mins and line was closing but manager was behind me saying it was close to anyone else. while the two customers in front of me checked out when I get to the counter I was ignored the employee left and another manager made no eye contact grabbing the cash from drawer so my experience is they pick and choose who they want to help and ignore others when they have better stuff to do. I call the manager and it was same one behind me and she says oh maybe she was soft spoken no she intentional ignored me no eye contact im standing right there and she knew I was in line because she kept asking the manager behind me oh your in line like 3x so no excuse nothing will be done but you lost me as a customer and anyone I talk to will know how rude you are there! read more

What a disappointment, the Dalton GA one is much better. This is a grumpy store, the employees are seem sluggish and it's not a happy place to shop and when you ask them to frame a painting they tell you they have other "things" to do. It should be when you consider the regular prices are usual 2x what you can find at Walmart or online. My wife and I won't be back soon. read more

I usually leave Hobby Lobby joyful, but not today! Picked up a few things for crafting that I thought were 50 or 75 % off, as clearly marked on the shelves I selected the items from, only to realize at the register the items were full price. I pleaded my case with the cashier at which time a manager stepped in to look up two items for me that were marked in pencil, which I plucked from a shelf in the 75 % off clearance area. The manager searched for item and discovered they were still available on web sight, so it wasn't on sale. I proceeded to check out and as my transaction was processing, the manager stated since items were spring, they would be 50 % off. BUT since my transaction was completed, I needed to get back in line! Seriously Hobby Lobby...go back to the weekly coupon and stop confusing your customers with these clearance sales. read more

Hobby Lobby is a great multipurpose craft store. Though there is a great selection of items for a crafter I find the true quality art supplies disappearing. The paints of professional grade are few as papers (specialty) and glass heat work etc. The mediums used by pros are hard to find and Hobby Lobby is the only source in this city. If it were not for the variety of some substitutions and help by staff the rating would be lower. So if you're a beginner this is for you if you're professional you might find yourself finding a few items and ordering online. read more

I was new to Hobby Lobby introduced to the store this year after getting a Gift Card from my girlfriend for Christmas. I must say as a craft store lover it was nice. There definitely is a huge variety of everything imaginable. You can spend hours looking through all the isles. It wasn't hard to use up my Hobby bucks! I was not happy with the fact they are pricey! They don't have sales like Joann's and don't do coupons either. So yes I think the store is nice and worth a walk through a time or two but I much rather spend my time & money in Joann's. read more

I am an AVID crafter- beadding, sewing, embroidery, painting in watercolor and acrylic, home decor, flower arranging.... you name it, I have done it. BUT I will no longer frequent Hobby Lobby until their anti woman stance on providing birth control options for thier employees is changed. I refuse to support a company that sees me and my gender as second class citizens and insists on requiring US to adhere to their religious/ethical beliefs. Wow what can I say? This store is amazing. It is quite a large arts and crafts/home decor store and prices are somewhat reasonable. What is truly amazing about this store is the amount of stuff it contains. One could spend hours in here. There is all sorts of art and craft supplies including scrapbook supplies, beads, paints etc. There is also a wonderful selection of home decor, baking supplies and even holiday decor. Not only do they have a large amount of Fall and Halloween decorations, they also have Christmas stuff out too for those who like to get their Christmas spirit started early I guess. Went in, bought 4 items from the 90% off area, and was charged 90% off for 3 of them, 50% off for the last (a picture). Also bought a number of other things, including a pendant from clearance at 50% off. Got home and realized they'd charged me twice for something I did not buy, and had not charged me for another (a pendant), and the 50% off error. Went back. Was told by asst. manager, and then manager that the picture had been placed in the wrong area, probably by a customer. The pendant I had not been charged for and I could now purchase at full price as well even thought I insisted that the pendant was supposed to be 50% off. They would not believe me until showed them the exact same pendant, hanging on the wall, marked half off. I then showed them the exact same picture in the 90% off section, hanging behind the picture that I had bought earlier. Next to these pictures were 3 bathroom art pieces, unmarked, and next to that, a metal art of a theater, around the corner on the other until of 90% off was another of the theater. Instead of acknowledging their error, I was told that customers put things back in wrong places. LOL, that is quite a strange customer, moving whole lots of art and rearranging them neatly on different shelves, 3 times in fact. One of the sets of pictures, I was told by the asst. was not marked by mistake and they actually were 90% off, the others were just in the wrong place. The manager then said, no, none of the pictures were in the right place, they'd all been moved, neatly, and hung in organized places by a customer. Must be Sheldon is rearranging Hobby Lobby? Anyway, when I questioned their policy regarding store error and unhappy customers, the answer was, "oh well". The manager, with his arms full of 9 assorted pieces of art, walked off to put the merchandise back in it's rightful place. $100 bucks says he won't be able to find the "right place" because it doesn't exist any more. The assistant manager and store manager both treated me as if 1. I was lying even though I brought back an uncharged item, 2. I was stupid for not understanding that customers walk around with things in their hands and then lay them in the wrong places. 3. That I was an idiot if I were to believe that this customer "layer down" 9 pictures, of 3 different types and materials in an organized manner hanging neatly on different racks by theme. and 4. In a manner that did nothing to promote customer relations, good will, christian values, or even an apology and admission that obviously a store employee had made the error. Nor did they act in the same manner that many retail and restaurant business do, which is to offer the item at the mistaken price as an act of good customer relations. NO MORE HOBBY LOBBY for me! Oh, and got similar feedback from customer service at the corporate level, except they did apologize and tell me that the policy is at the discretion of the manager, who chose not to sell me the item at the mismarked price, but rather to keep it and for about $5, choose to lose a customer who had a cart full of other purchases (that were left in the aisle for him to put away as well). Bad Business, but they're so big, they don't care. read more
