I managed to cure it mostly by myself by using rubbing alcohol and an off-the counter antibiotic ointment w/ pain relief thankfully, so I was thinking of cancelling the appointment, but went anyway since I figured it couldn't hurt to get it checked by a professional and avoid having to cancel last minute. Dr. Coen was very attentive and proceeded to take a look and ended up cleaning off some of the remaining pus and cutting the excess skin/nail off so that it would not bother me and completely heal. It was such a simple procedure that he didn't bother to ask for a co-pay/bill my insurance, even though I asked if there was a co-pay. That alone just made me post such a positive review... it's hard to find doctors that are so dedicated to help their patients. Thank you Dr. Coen. :)

However, from that point on, communication with the office staff was extremely disappointing. Every time I called, I got inconsistent information or just the runaround. Voicemails and portal messages went unanswered, and I had to call multiple times just to get any response. I repeatedly asked to speak directly with Dr. Bolla or to have her reach out, but I never heard from her again after the initial consult. Months later, one of the medical assistants finally called back, claiming the office manager had tried reaching out to me but I never returned her call--which is completely untrue. I'd reached out multiple times with no response. It's now November, and I'm still in pain, with no clear next steps. I would not recommend this practice. Save your time, money, and sanity, and find an office where you'll be treated with respect and actually get the care you need.

The podiatrist barely even looked at me before saying "it's a sprain, you'll be fine by Monday." I angrily told him it was NOT a sprain, that I knew my body and something was wrong. That night had me back in ER for excruciating pain. Enter Dr. Friedberg the following week who, after some manipulation of my foot, and some questions concluded that I had a fascia tear that would probably take a few months to heal. Man was I glad I went to Dr. Friedberg! My foot did take a few months to heal, but he was nothing but kind, gentle, and professional through the entire process. He offered tips and tricks on how to regain strength and reduce pain, showed me my MRI images, and explained things in very simple and detailed ways.
