This is the single best outdoor firing range I've ever been to. Everyone gets their private covered bench on their own lane. I've never seen anything like this before. No sharing a lane or bay with strangers of such you have no idea who are or how safe they are. The other cool thing is you get to drive right up to your lane and park your car right there. I've been shooting my entire life and never ever seen anything so perfect when it comes to shooting. The staff were really nice and fun to talk to. I hated the 20 minute safety video I had to watch to register to shoot but I get it. Most people are stupid and can't be trusted to employ common sense. They do have some retail sales but I didn't really get a chance to look through it all. I was too excited to get out and shoot. The price was reasonable and very much in line with other outdoor ranges over been to. The people in this area are really lucky. If I lived here, I'd be here all the time. I'd definitely be a member if they, indeed, have memberships. I didn't ask as I don't live here. I'd like to reiterate that this is the very best outdoor range over been to and I wish you everything holy we had something like this in the Denver area.

While driving along the Gulf coast on the way to Destin, I noticed a sign for the store on my left hand side. I've always enjoyed archery and wanted to test my shot at least once in my life, but was always quite intimidated. I've past up the opportunity to experience a range countless times prior but after seeing the recent contest in the Olympics, I figured what the heck, let's just at least check it out. Upon walking in, I told the fellas behind the counter that we're from 100% newbies, have never shot or even held a gun before, and were visiting from New York. One employee grinned and jokingly remarked "ohh just the words we love to hear", to which we all had a good chuckle. We told them our intentions of going to the range for the first time and they were very patient and informative every step of the way. First, they gave us an 45 minutes to an hour of private safety instruction. They went over the do's and don'ts, foundational aspects of stance, safety and aim. Our instructor was very clear, calm and professional. After we felt comfortable enough and passed his standards, we were on our way to the actual range. While dawning proper ear and eye protection, we were allowed to pick any guns we'd like, and could swap out anytime. What was so unexpected and neat about it all, was the price! We shot one full box of ammo, tried a handgun and a rifle, for about an hour or so, all for only $70! If we had time, we were told we could literally stay there the entire day, as the main charge is really only for the ammo. While I'm totally guessing here, I'd totally assume it would be 2-3x that up here in New York. While I'm not sure this is an activity I'd do again, I'm certainly glad to have tried it and can cross it off my list. Big thanks to Oak Ridge Gun Club for being so patient and professional. I'd recommend them to anyone whose in the area looking to give it a try.

They were SO kind and helped me and my family through anything we needed. Missy was at the rifle range and walked me through making my first ever shot on a gun- I hit the bullseye! When we went to the pistol range, Steve and Mike (there are two Steves) were there. They were very helpful with the range as well. Erika was at the front when I went inside and I was able to speak with her and she was helpful. I was super impressed with how clean this place was, how well organized, and how kind they all were. Donovan and I chatted for a while and he showed me some cool things they had on their wall, including a blind shooter who made a 300 yard shot! He talked us through step by step everything we needed to know about the range and was quick to offer any assistance. Missy was also really helpful. She really takes her time with being patient with the guests, and I can tell she knows so much about firearms. She really made this experience less nerve racking for me as I was nervous to shoot the first time EVER! She really eased my mind and walked me through it, and it truly shows a good teacher creates a good student. I am so proud of myself.
