The Lock Chiropractic team are super professional, knowledgeable and they make you feel safe. I've always been skeptical of going to the chiro but I'm really glad I came to get adjusted by Dr. Colin and Michael Lock. Found out I have scoliosis and resolved my neck issues and nausea. I appreciate Colin for communicating what he's about to adjust, and educates us as we go. Shoutout to Norman as well at the front desk! He's super friendly, quick to respond and is super dedicated to the clinic. 10/10 recommend this place and will continue making referrals read more

Dr. Lock and Dr. Colin are both fantastic! They are patient and take the time to explain what causes specific issues/pain and provide excellent treatment along with at home work to minimize issues. I book appointments regularly, especially before and after travel (long-distance seated travel is terrible for the back)! I appreciate that Norm, in the front office, always makes an effort to find an opening that works with my schedule and I instantly feel happier as soon as I walk through the door. I have been seeing Lock Chiropractic for years now, and it has become a part of my regular body maintenance. read more

TOP NOTCH! :) Its a bit scary to have someone align your spine and crack your back etc but I feel I am 100% in good hands at Lock Chiropractic! I called to schedule an appointment after misaligning my back while working out and Norm was a total gentleman! SUPER nice and sympathetic and seemed really concerned in getting me in sooner than later. He asked how I discovered them and I said that they were listed on my insurance website and also had great Yelp and Google Reviews (adding another one to the list! LOL!) and he said that was great and offered to check my insurance for verification and pricing on office visit and xrays and appointment limits which I though was GREAT and very kind and thorough. He called back in 10 minutes and provided me with all the information :) Upon visiting, I was greeted warmly and with a smile. I filled out short paper work, asked for consent to take a client photo for their file and met wtih Dr. Colin Lock. He was GREAT! Super sweet, caring and kind. Discussed my back pain, what may have caused it, my history etc. He did a thorough assessment of my back and hip and took X-Rays. I appreciated him wanting to wait until the film was developed before adjusting me just to make sure we were targeting the correct areas and addressing the pain fully. My next visit Dr. Lock went over the X-Rays with me and was VERY thorough in pointing out my current back and hip misalignments. He created a treatment plan I got my first adjustment. I FEEL LIKE A NEW WOMAN! I am walking without pain again and able to stretch, bend, squat and sit ALOT better! I am excited for my next visit wtih Dr. Lock. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, CARING, KIND AND EXPERIENCED PRACTICE from the front desk to the Doctors (I also ran into Dr. Michael Lock in the hall and he was so nice and sweet). THANK YOU! :) read more

Dr Michael and Dr Colin Lock are both caring and great at their jobs. My wife and I both get adjusted here as do our friends. Dr Michael was able to diagnose, treat and resolve a nerve condition my wife had that our primary care and orthopedic at UCSF could not identify for months, but UCSF suggested steroid shot or surgery even though no real cause was identified. Come and see them and make sure you get the best treatment for yourself. read more

My family has been going to the Lock family practice for many years. We've been going there for many types of injuries and discomfort: dance injury, running injury, lower back discomfort, the whole range. The older Dr. Lock was the only chiropractor who could reliably address every issue we had and delivered results. After the younger Dr. Lock started working there as well, the practice grew to offer more comprehensive care to include things like cupping and graston. My family has been very happy with the quality and consistency of care we receive and will continue to come back! read more

I was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident and was feeling mild discomfort in the neck and shoulder area. I was referred to Dr. Colin Lock through a friend and he was patient and thoughtful regarding my concerns and also in creating a treatment plan. Because I was coming from San Jose, he worked around my schedule and accommodated as necessary. Dr. Lock walked me through every single treatment, what muscle groups it will target, and stretches to do at home. At the end of the treatment, I felt better than prior to my injury! I would not hesitate to return for my future treatment needs and have recommended him to friends and family. read more

My massage therapist advised that I see a chiropractor since she noticed my body alignment is pretty bad. I found Lock Chiropractic through my insurance and I chose it because it's close to my work. Dr. Lock is super sweet and personable. On the consult, he was able to identify my problem areas via physical assessment and X-rays that they do on site. I know my medical history pretty well and he was pretty spot on with the concerns that I have. When I had my first treatment, they started me off with deep tissue massage and cupping. Then they proceeded to go in for the cracking. I went it with no experience and it threw me off guard! After the appointment I felt more mobile. I didn't feel sore the next day surprisingly. He advise that I see him twice a week. After the 2 adjustments, I'm starting to notice a decrease in my sciatica. Highly recommend him :). read more

I have had awful sciatica pain since December. I've been going to a PT but the pain has persisted. I wanted to try a chiropractor and found Lock through my insurance and I've been so happy with them. I've had 2 appointments and my sciatica has subsided. They have implemented deep tissue work, cupping, ultrasound and adjustments and my pain is nonexistent. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

I started seeing the young Dr. Lock when he was still in chiro school. Mostly for adjustments, especially the shoulder area as I carry a lot of my stress there. I followed him to his family's business and everyone there has been extremely welcoming, friendly and efficient. They explain everything in a way that makes sense and puts my worries at ease. I've been seeing Dr. Lock about my chronic foot/heel pain and also appreciate the "at home" care tips he gives. Coming to this office is worth the trek into the city and I highly recommend them! read more

If you've hurt your spine, never, ever go to this chiropractor. This place just screams "con artist." Allow me to illustrate my experience. This was my first visit ever to this chiropractor; he pressured me to come in because he'd seen some of my X-rays and said it was imperative that I come in ASAP. I walk into the waiting room, sign in and take a seat. There are three doors labeled "Room 1," "Room 2" and Room 3." And while I wait patiently, I see that the "doctor" is weaving in and out between these three rooms every two minutes or so. Each time he walks into a room I hear a loud noise, sort of a "DOOSH! DOOSH!" "What's going on here?" I think to myself. "Is he seriously treating three people at the same time?" Finally, it was my turn. The doctor told me to step into Room 3. He said I had to retake some X-rays because my previous ones were not good enough to see what was wrong with my back. So he snapped my X-rays, said I had to wait five minutes for them to develop and stepped out the door. Then his assistant came in asking me to leave the room so another patient could come in. I was back in the waiting room, despite the fact I had scheduled my 2 p.m. appointment days in advance. I had to wait not 5, 10 or 15, but 25 minutes until they finally let me back into a room -- this time, Room 1. My back was sore from waiting so long. (I'm not supposed to sit up for long durations.) The "doctor" and his assistant proceeded to put my X-rays up against a backlit board and draw lines on it to show to me how misaligned my spine was. It was like they were trying to sell me something -- they were giving me a persuasive speech to convince me of something, as if they themselves knew they were full of shit. They saw that I wasn't getting sad and weepy about the horrible condition of my back, which I'm sure is their signal for a sale. The assistant said, "I can see you don't care because you're in pain. Here, let me treat you." He had me lie down face forward on this mat. I couldn't see what it was, but he put some sort of mechanical arm on my back. He pressed the button twice -- "DOOSH DOOSH" -- sending a strong jolt down my spine. It didn't seem to help my pain at all. After that, he told me I was done. "I missed work for this? This is the emergency treatment they were talking about?" I thought to myself. The actual "treatment" only lasted a duration of 2 seconds. I was infuriated when I stepped back into the waiting room. "Could you come back in tomorrow (Saturday)?" the assistant asked me. "We need to do some spine decompression." (Why couldn't they just do this that day? Obvious answer is that they want to milk you by scheduling as many appointments as possible.) I said, "I think I have something to do tomorrow. I'll just call you if I want to schedule another appointment." He ignored me. "So you can come in tomorrow then?" I repeated what I said, this time with more of an attitude. I walked out, my back still in pain, my time wasted, my wallet $100 lighter. Don't go here unless you wish to be exploited by an unprofessional twat who treats his patients like circus animals. read more

I was assaulted last year and Dr Lock helped heal my knee and break up scar tissue with his expertise. He also explained clearly what was wrong and how to perform self care. His adjustments are also very professional and I feel relaxed after seeing him. We also had a hiccup with my insurance but they took care of it without much impact to me. I'm a regular now, especially when I make the fateful mistake of sitting in front of a computer for 60 or more hours in a week. read more

* This number is their old location on Geary, their current number is (415) 221-7228 * I've been seeing Dr. Lock for several years now. He's the only chiropractor that I feel takes full care of me and actually cares about my health. I've seen many (and I mean many) other chiropractors in the past for my injuries ranging from multiple car accidents (not the one driving)/rear ended, mountain biking accident, snowboarding accidents, sports injuries... you get the picture... Every once in a while I get shooting pains in my low back or spasms in my upper back/neck/shoulders. When I do get the pains, I can't seem to sit or stand or do anything because something is pinching a nerve. I rely on Dr. Lock to help adjust my back to relieve the pressure on the nerves. It takes 2 days for the pain to fully subside. I've tried not going regularly (once a month) for maintenance and just trying yoga, stretching, massages (lots of them), and acupuncture, but nothing works but the adjustment. Many chiropractors are not as precise and gentle on their adjustments or cannot even get the right one and will only relieve it temporarily. He's good! - gets it exactly with a gentle spinal manipulation. read more

I started going to Lock two years ago because I have an old shoulder injury that has been bothering me on and off since 1993. Since then, I have been going to Lock Chiropractic regularly. Lock is not a typical chiropractor, he is more like a healer. He has an amazing gift, like an angel, and so does Alex, the other chiropractor in residence. Norman at the front desk is always kind and professional. Whenever I go to Lock Chiropractic, I don't just feel better physically, but I always leave with a sense of peace and joy, because it is so nice to see that someone really enjoys treating you. read more

I went to see Dr. Lock last Thursday because I sprained my wrist boxing. Even though it was a minor injury that caused discomfort, Dr. Lock was very thorough during the evaluation. He did some minute wrist adjustments and taught me how to care for my wrist at home. He showed me some wrist exercises and even called me a few days later to follow-up on our appointment. read more

Only place that have healed my sciatica. I was unable to sit, stand, walk, lay down, without being in pain until I came to see Dr. Lock. After a few sessions, I felt the difference and was able to move with less pain. Let's be real, nothing magically heals after 1 day. It took months for me to be free of pain. I adjusted my lifestyle and from time to time, I would have a mishap and visit Lock again. Overall, the employees are on top of things, careful, and precise. You also have to do your part and ask for suggestions or research on how to 'adjust your lifestyle'. There's no magic pill for anything. I always recommend folks to visit Lock Chiropractic. They've done wonders for me. read more

I was a patient years ago. He treats 3 patients at 1 time. In and out within 3-5 minutes. Not very helpful and I would recommend going to a real chiropractor. read more

They can do nothing to cure your problems. People, please don't waist your money, this doctor will rip you off. Believe it or not.

I will never go there again, this place just waist your money, and they can't do anything with your problem. Last time they cost me 120 for a terrible X- Ray. Dr. Michael treats 3 people at the same time, he just wants to get money from people. read more

Dr. Lock is great! He helped me with a knee problem I had that has been going on for a couple months. Happy to say I don't have a knee problem anymore. The great thing about Lock Chiropractic is that they really try to figure out what's going on and try to create a proper treatment plan that works best for you. One thing though is that at times it can get real busy there so sometimes there's a wait to be treated. read more

Dr Lock is the only chiropractor who has ever been able to ease my painful neck. I went to him regularly for years, then left the USA in 1990. I have tried so many chiropractors in other countries but none of them could ever adjust the C2 sufficiently to give me relief. I don't even try anymore, I just miss Dr Lock and put up with the pain. [He would massage my neck for a few minutes ahead of the adjustment, in order to release the constriction in my neck muscles, that is why his adjustment then could work. No other chiropractors in New Zealand or Australia have ever been willing to take those few extra minutes to do that, even though I have explained that is what worked before.] Anyway I think the world of Dr Lock and hope others have as much success and pain relief with him as I always did! That said, it clearly IS a business he runs and I noticed that he changed to being more focused on that over the years and was sorry. But he was still the best chiropractor. read more

Ok let' me start off by saying that I've been going to Dr. Lock for about 6 years and in the beginning he really was great and helped me out tremendously. However, over the years I realized who he really is and his true colors came out. He is a complete con artist that couldn't care less about his patients. He takes 3 people at once and literally spends 2 minutes with you and tells you to come back for like another week and when you do come back he tells you to come back the following week. The only reason I'm even writing this review ( which is something I rarely do- unless the services are great) is because I'm so furious. My last visit with him was this last Friday and I came in final feeling better from my hip pain and I walked out feeling horrible. This pain hasn't gone away. He's made me feel worse than I did in the beginning. I called another chiropractor today and he personally returned my phone call and spent 30 minutes on the phone with me asking about my history and symptoms. That's more time on the phone than locks spent with me in the past 2 years. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD CARING DOCTOR, THEN STAY AWAY. All I can say now is that I'm truly disappointed in you Dr. Lock. I really expected more. read more
