It is attached to an identical house but there is total quiet and privacy. The house is located at the top of the mountain which gave us beautiful views over the woods of mountains beyond and the lake far below. There were even deer who made an appearance much to the delight of us, all especially the children. The huge, 2 storey, floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows flooded the living area with light. The open concept of the living, dining and kitchen areas meant easy communication among us all no matter where we were located. What surprised us was that the ultra modern kitchen is outfitted with every dish and utensil imaginable including high end amenities such as a bean to cup coffee machine and frother. The children enjoyed playing pool and ping pong in the games room downstairs which gave the adults quiet time. The bedrooms were lovely and spacious with king size beds for the adults and single beds for the children. Rather than wait for the shuttle, we drove the few minutes down to the pedestrian village every day and parked there. There is a free 1 minute shuttle from the parking lot to the base of the village but it is a short, pleasant, 5 minute walk so not really necessary. Thank you to Katja of Tremblant Living for easy communication. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience for our family.

Of the places we stayed on our trip along the Petit Trail Du Nord, this was our least favorite…read more Although the rooms were nice and very comfortable, we found the staff to be unfriendly and the food at the B&B outrageously expensive. When we rode in with our family after biking, the staff were not very welcoming and, in fact, made us feel like we were imposing on them. As very low maintenance travelers, we found it odd that this vibe was given off and we found it uncomfortable. Hard to exactly say what it was, but we found that we always felt that we were doing something wrong...not a fond feeling when traveling! The food was also unreasonably expensive. $22.00 pp for breakfast! No thanks!

We stayed with another couple at Prema Shanti in July 2013 while we were biking from Mont-Laurier…read moreto St-Jerome on Le P'tit Train du Nord rail trail. The inn is about 1 km SE of the center of Val-David on Lac Dore, a small, quiet lake (no power boats). The inn has a private swim beach, dock, and platform. The inn is easily accessible from the rail trail, though not obvious. We arrived in the afternoon and were given rooms in an annex building across a quiet street. Our rooms had therapeutic baths, rather than showers, so we asked to be moved to rooms with showers, and they seemed happy to switch us. Since we were across the street, our rooms did not have a view of the lake, but the rooms were comfortable, air conditioned, and nicely furnished, if somewhat oddly arranged. The beds were very comfortable. We seemed to be the only occupants in the annex, and the doors of the unoccupied rooms were left standing open, so we walked around and looked into some of the rooms. Some of those bedrooms were truly luxurious! But those rooms had the therapeutic baths, not showers. The inn provided secure storage for our bikes in a separate building. It was a fairly hot day for Quebec, so we spent some time swimming in the lake before dinner. Just lovely. Kayaks and paddleboards were also available at the beach. Dinner was outstanding, and the service was excellent. The tables look out over the lake, a lovely setting. Apparently, breakfast is normally served starting at 9 am, but we asked if we could have breakfast at 8 am, to get an earlier start biking. Again, the staff seemed happy to accommodate us, and we were served breakfast at 8 am. Breakfast was also excellent. Definitely staying here again next time we are in the area. Note: All of the rooms at this inn are apparently different. There is an online photo gallery of the rooms here http://www.premashanti.ca/en/galerie.php?cat=5 so that you can reserve a room that you will like. The majority of the rooms seem to have therapeutic baths, not showers, so if you require a shower, make sure that you reserve a room that has a shower. The annex building is across a quiet street, so those rooms do not have a view of the lake. But they are otherwise very nice rooms.

Need a weekend away from the city? Want to be surrounded by nothing but peace and nature?…read more Domaine Ste Agathe is absolutely where you need to go. I forget how many times we've stayed there - 8 or 9, I think. We've gone alone and also have brought our friends up. We try to rent a different house every time. Although all of the Swiss style homes are similar, each one has it's own charm (one is right at the top of a mountain, one has a second fireplace at the indoor pool, one has an amazing spa/pool on the deck, etc). They allow you to bring your dogs for a very small fee of $10 per night which is perfect for us, we bring our two Chihuahuas everywhere. Choose between having a hot tub or a pool.....or you can have both. Choose between 1 bedroom all the way up to 6 bedrooms. They have about 30 different fully equipped homes that will absolutely make you happy, whatever you're looking for. The family that runs it is absolutely lovely and so helpful. We'll be back!

The place was spacious and clean for all of us, and the views were amazing. The kitchen was equipped with bowls, plates, and utensils that would last us days, but it did not come with basic cooking ingredients, such as oil. Each unit also came with a starter pack of two dishwashing pods and a few laundry detergent strips, and the guest is responsible for additional supplies, as well as paper towel and toilet paper if you run out, which we were unaware of. Wifi was reliable. The living space was cozy, and we loved the fireplace. The TV upstairs is a smart TV, but it was not connected to the internet; there was cable. The beds were somewhat hard, and the carpet in the basement made several of us sneeze. We got conflicting information regarding the hot tub from several people, and are still not sure if it's open. This home only gets two parking spots, and extra cars have to park in the lots away from the property. The walk to the Pedestrian Village took less than 10 minutes; however, the walk up was a brutal 15 minutes because it was uphill. Shuttles depart every 40 minutes during the day and are available on call in the evening. This unit is by a trail; however, it was not open when we went, and it's a narrow blue run. Overall, we were still happy with our experience. If you decide to book the property, book it via their website. Customer service was able to honour a Black Friday price, saving us about $400 for our stay.

Ski, Sleep, Eat, Repeat: A Family Getaway at Le Westin Tremblant!…read more If you're looking for the perfect spot to hit the slopes and then hit the apres-ski scene with style, look no further than Le Westin Tremblant! Nestled right in the heart of the pedestrian Tremblant Village, this place is prime real estate for both mountain adventurers and those who'd rather be sipping a hot chocolate by the fire than actually skiing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Alexia, who checked us in with the kind of warmth you wish your family gave you at holidays. Bonus points for letting us check in early! And let's talk valet parking - it was quick, it was easy, and best of all, our car stayed snow-free in the garage (goodbye, snow-covered car blues). Our room? Cozy and comfy! We had a king-sized bed that felt great after long ski days, plus a pull-out couch that could comfortably fit our two boys (8 & 4). The fireplace? Perfect for those chilly winter nights when you want to feel fancy, but also warm and toasty. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything. The shared balcony was HUGE--ideal for watching snow fall, although we did wish for some patio furniture to sit and sip hot cocoa. But hey, it's a shared space, so I get it! The room did feel a bit dated, but renovations are coming, and I'm all for a good facelift. Let's talk food. If you're lucky enough to have Titanium status (yes, it's as fancy as it sounds), you'll score complimentary breakfasts at Leo every morning. There were four options on the menu - see picture for "Platinum" options - and it was still a great start to our mornings. The place is sleek and modern, but unfortunately, a little understaffed, which made breakfast a slow burn. However, we were lucky enough to have Thomas, our French waiter who was basically the embodiment of charm. He served us with a smile three of our five day stay and made us feel like we were at a Michelin-star restaurant (though no Michelin stars were involved). Now, the location is PRIME. We were literally steps away from everything--restaurants (Poco Loco, Forge, I'm looking at you), ski rentals, lifts, and the Tremblant Activity Centre. We could even pop over to the water park, Mission Laser, and more in just a few minutes. Oh, and those ski lockers on the third floor? A game-changer. Just grab your gear and you're on the lift in minutes--goodbye, waiting in line! We had such a blast that we're already planning our return next year. Here's to another epic apres-ski trip, snow-filled days, and hopefully modern, renovated rooms
