I'd give this place a 5-star MINUS if it were possible. What a bunch of amateurs in web design. Over a year ago, I was solicited by a really nice guy and fell for the services, hook, line and sinker! I optimistically put all my papers together -- and since I am a graphic designer -- I knew EXACTLY what I wanted. My goal was to promote my website . . . Within 2 weeks, I complained that they had my company name wrong, that they couldn't do the site to my design specs (even though they clearly promised that) and there were so many mistakes, cheap graphics and requested that THEY DO NOT LAUNCH THEIR WEBSITE as it would clearly compromise my company's image. They launched it anyway. I gave them a $200 deposit on a $900 contract and demanded that they take the site down and cancel my account. After harassing me on the phone for months, they finally stopped calling. Well, its been year and all of a sudden, they are calling me again demanding that I pay them for their services . . . which were never completed because they couldn't do the work. He was not interested in what I had to say and when I asked questions he proceeded to tell me I do not know what I'm doing. He kept talking on and on not letting me talk at all and cutting me off. This is honestly one of the worst seo companies I have came across. I used to work there and what I saw made me feel sick. I seen how the operations are ran and a large percentage of the businesses are not seeing any ROI (return on investment). A lot of their cancellations are from small business that are struggling to survive. They are expecting their $99 a month investment with this company to bring them more money. They cancel because they cannot afford it. The reps guarantee a large increase in new business which is not the case. Management: All they care about is money. That is all they promote. They do not promote the importance of using integrity and being honest. They train their sales reps to tell people ho many Google searches were made for a keyword or services and the number are straight up lies. The sales reps make up outrageous search volumes such as this.... "3,219 searches were made in the last 30 days in your area for plumbers. Those are people who are searching for exactly what you offer and they need it at that time!" The city they are giving those "searches" for would be in a city that only has 2500 people in it. They will make it seem like your services are in high demand and you would not be smart to start the program. Website: The "complimentary" website is a very generic and low budget. A 16 year old can develop it. They claim its a special $1,299 website but this is their everyday package. Do not allow the sales rep to sale you on how its a "Special Today Only." Take your time and research. If you already have a website: If a business already has a website that the owner loves, the sales rep cannot close the deal unless the potential client agrees to have the "complimentary" Local light house website is created. If the business owner does not agree to having a website, the sales reps will say that it will not be a website LLH will build but they will say it is a "landing page", "lead generating website" or a "mirror imaged website." For the record, it is all the same. The have to build that 6-7 page website regardless. The website they create will be the one that will be optimized and possibly make it to the first page. They cannot work with an existing website. High Pressure Sales: The sales reps there are working for commission only. They do not get paid hourly. They will try to close business owners as quick as possible. This tactic is used so people will not have the chance to do their research and see all the negative reviews. It also prevents your average business owner the time to really review the terms and conditions. **6 month contract: The 6 month contract that is required. It is $199 the first month then $99 after. $199 is the sales rep commission so you can get started for only $99. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY 199 TO START. ONLY 99 if you want the service. You are not required to sign the contract to start the program. EITHER WAY YOU CAN CANCEL AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY FEES NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY. It says if you are not ranking on Google, Yahoo or Bing. Over 80% of the business that are their clients are not ranking on Google. If you are not ranking on Google but if you are ranking on Bing, they will not work for free. The only way you are guaranteed to rank is if you are in a niche market with a low population. They trained their sales reps to tell people they are Google partners when they are far from it. They use a automated system to call cellphones and residential homes which is illegal. The automated system says press 1 to speak to a Google+ specialist. This tactic is used to confuse people intentionally. People automatically assume they are going to speak to a Google rep. *They had a "F" ranking on the BBB until June 2015. They just paid the BBB mid June for the "A" rating that they have now. *They also paid Ripoff Report for a good review. The office is a broiling room. All upper management talks about is sales sales sales. Break records break records. They do not provide proper training to their Customer Service and Sales department, as a result many clients needs are not fulfilled. There is always loud music with profanity in the office daily. I want to be clear that my complaint was solely about the company not canceling when I asked them to cancel the first time, telling me my account was canceled when I called them the second time, and telling me my account was not yet canceled when I called them the third time. I have no complaint about their services of adding a domain name and rewriting my website in order to draw more clients to send to my website. I was sold a bill of goods and should report to the better business bureau. We have our own website that is what we needed the SEO for. I was waiting until I used this company for 6 months before I wrote this review. First off I was very sceptical about signing up with this company, let alone any other company Due to the fact that I was robbed from other company's in the past. I spoke with a gal by the name of vanessa mendoza, stating that she was calling about my front page placement to Google. I told her that I was not interested and that I wanted to be off the calling list. She was very understanding and mentioned if I had just a minute to speak and she would kindly put me on the do not call registry. During the conversation she explained the importance of "branding " my business to get maximum exposure. When she was navagatung me and showing me that my business was not listed and that she wanted to help me. I was very hesitant when she said that because I was promised the world in the past, and I told her that. She told me that she does not want my trust but she wanted to earn my trust and establish a lifetime relationship with her and the company. When we went through everything that is needed to get my business on the front page, she quoted me a price and told me that she will work day in and day out to make sure that I'm seen online. I decided to give advertising on Google one last time . Since I have signed up in December, vanessa has contacted me every week to go over my business. And I got to tell you she delivered and did everything she said.. a long story short, she promised me her word on follow ups and my placement and gave me the world. i know there are people that are hating on local lighthouse because of the robo dialing. apparently i was one of the few people who actually listened to the robot, and got through to a person - who was very knowledgeable, and very helpful working with me to organize my online business idea. unfortunately because of my ignorance regarding SEO, and the services they offer... i wound up inadvertently signing up for a 6 month contract, and as it turns out, i wasn't at all far along enough with my business, to be able to take advantage of the services they offer. i came to this realization 3 months after i started - and that's when they told me i was stuck in a 6 month contract. thankfully, they could have acted as a lot of companies do - and drag me over the coals... but i was able to speak with Ashley - who was a total sweetheart and understood my issue... and she connected me to Silvia in their customer service department - who - was so nice that i offered to have her children... and i don't even like kids. like i said - they could have dragged me through the mud, but they were kind, understanding, and we were able to reach a resolution to the problem that pleased both parties. I have no beef with their customer service, and i'm sure they provide highly useful tools for your business, just make sure you fully understand the services they offer you, and make sure you understand the contract details. other than that, you should be good to go! read more

Scam Scam SCAM! They say there is a 90 day money back guarantee and then somewhere in the fine print it is a 495$ CANCELLATION FEE. I have never been on hold for so long and have never spoken to so many unaware and ridiculous sales people! They published private information about me on the internet WITHOUT my consent, put me on hold for more than a half hour EVERY time you want to make any changes you have to speak with the receptionist who then puts you through to a bunch of random ass people who have no idea whats going on. For over a year I've been receiving these calls. I've had my number on the do not call registry. Have stayed on the line and pressed the prompts to never be called again... to no avail. I'm so glad I finally came across a forum that pointed this company out. After all of my submissions to the DNR I finally have a company name to put next to the spoofed numbers you can never call back. This company is pure scum.... even if they outsourced their marketing efforts, they should know how they treat people. Being hung up on as soon as you ask for the companies name or to have your number removed is so wrong. The only reason this is a 1-star review is because Yelp does not allow zero stars! I would strongly advise you against doing business with this company. One of my clients had received numerous sales calls from the Local Lighthouse team and asked me to follow up with them. I manage their marketing and had a first hand experience with this organization (So please do not remove this post again). Having worked with numerous web dev and SEO companies, I was very skeptical of both the services and "front page" promises Local Lighthouse made in their sales presentation and I advised my client against contracting with them. The client, however, was drawn in by their price point, and SEO services at $99/mo is incredibly cheap, so despite my advice they entered into a 6-month agreement. BIG mistake! Not only for their waste of money but also all of the time I wasted dealing with them! The sales reps are aggressive and initially helpful but once you sign a contract with them, and are assured they will be your point of contact, you are never able to reach them again. Each time I called, I was not able to speak with anyone in a position of authority - not a manager, not a sales rep, not even a call center supervisor - only to the call center rep who answers your call. And they must be well trained as how to have every excuse as to why their websites are not fully built-out and why your website is not showing on front page for Google, Yahoo, and Bing (which is their stated promise and biggest selling point). It's almost comical to listen to their reasoning and excuses, until you realize you/your client is still wasting $99/mo and you're still not able to resolve the issue for which you called. This happened to me each time I called. Don't even think about trying to cancel early either, as you're hit with a $450 early cancellation fee. And then, once you've done your time and think you're finally done with them, you're not. Their initial 6 month contract automatically goes month-to-month, even if you call to terminate it, which I did, as the fine print on the contract requires written cancellation. The rep, however, failed to inform me of this or remind me to look at the fine print of contract. So, while I thought the contract was terminated, it was not, and Local Lighthouse attempted to bill again the following month. Bottom line: Don't waste your money! The websites are weak (at best), their customer service is terrible, their SEO efforts are even worse, their analytics are useless, and the results are non-existent. I signed up for a website 48 months ago. I understand SEO and that it takes time to rank. As promised I did rank on the first page of Google however the job was initially incomplete so I called them and they fixed it. After 1 1/2 years of having a website you'd think I'd get 1 lead. All I got were junk emails from spammers. So I contacted them again and said the site is not working for me and I want to cancel. The sales rep was very good and convinced me to stay so I said I'd give it 6 more months. They did some redesign on the website. Here we are 6 months later and nothing. So I sent myself a lead through the website to see if the site was even working. I never received the lead. So after 48 months I am done. I have been contacting them for a week now trying to cancel my account and all I get is the run around. I don't understand how SEO works, am I tracking my leads? Do I know where my leads are coming from? How my site is performing...yadahh yadahh yadahh...What part of 'I want to cancel my account don't you understand?' So now I have to go through the hassle of most likely contacting Consumer Affairs, The FTC and the BBB to get my account canceled. Really?
