This is one of many shady companies out there preying on small business owners. Received a call from an unknown number from "Google" telling me that something is wrong with my business listing. (Spoiler alert: the call was not from Google) After getting through to a representative, I asked what they did (SEO), and then what their company was called. She didn't answer and explained more about what they do, using all the salesy, marketing jargon. I asked two more times what the name of their business was and finally, she reluctantly told me, Local Lighthouse. I get robocalls from their 916-970-7110 every couple of weeks. They are *not* in any way affiliated with Google.

I've had similar experiences to the other reviews here. Basically they'll say anything to get you sign on promising your business will appear on the front page of Google etc After that they create a godawful generic looking website that thoroughly misrepresents your business that you'll be too embarrassed to show anybody. You will spend hours on the phone to a customer rep making changes to your website only to discover no changes have been made. You'll send them numerous emails complaining of there service and get mind numbingly dumb auto generated replies. Basically this is a boiler room scam and these guys don't give a flying f$#k about you or your business. Class action on the horizon me hopes. read more

Buyer Beware! Do not make the mistake of working with this company. The sales people are agressive and I can appreciate that, however, once I received your thrown together weak excuse for a website, you realize the mistake you made. At least I did. Their promises are to get your business on the "front page" of Google searches. The sight engine optimization is a cookie cutter website template they simply use over and over with a $100 a month fee. They simply plug in your content (pictures, video, Bio, service description) and give you a link to monitor your site's progress. They also throw together a Facebook page, and Yelp listing. These are items that can be done by any individual, however Local Lighthouse promises begin to fall short quickly when you see your results. I finally clicked through to a human being and told them I would sue them if I got one single additional phone call as my cell is on a "do not call list." I get an automated call every month from them and usually hang up....I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry, but they call anyway. Today I get a call and decide to get more information. The phone number says Florida, the man on the line said Orange County. When I found their website and determined the company at least exists, I responded that I would report them to the Do Not Call registry. The man became instantly rude, and laughed at me and said in a childish voice, "Oh no. You're not going to report us are you? (laughter heard)" At that point I am confident in writing this review. So this is the third review I've left for Local Lighthouse, simply because I feel people should be aware how shady this company is...So for anyone frustrated by the fact that the managers at Local Lighthouse are completely useless and unprofessional, the reason is......drum roll please.......they aren't managers at all!!! The customer service rep simply puts you on hold and "transfers" you to another customer service rep. I found this out after I was "transferred to the billing department" to resolve an unpaid refund issue only to learn later I was still talking to a customer service rep. I told him this was the type of BS that made Local Lighthouse such a scam. Obviously he apologized, then said something which I'm sure he wasn't supposed to say: They will NEVER transfer you outside of their department and customer service will stay on the phone with you as long as it takes to make you happy. The reason why your requests take so long is because it isn't being handled by a manager or service department, it all goes through Customer Service, which writes "tickets" or "work orders" that may or may not get done in a timely manner. WTF?!!! I ended up telling him that I was extremely p!ssed off at the company and there was absolutely nothing he could do to fix that. I then told him I was sorry he was getting paid minimum wage to get ripped a new one every single day and he told me it's alright because he just spent 3 hrs the other day getting yelled at by an unhappy customer...SMH Also, this idiotic company wouldn't allow me to cancel for $399 (initial deposit + next month) but due to countless hours of yelling on the phone for botched services and bad support, has now refunded (pending) me $100, given me 2 free months and my last 3 payments are now only $30... With the option to cancel all service for $90. Now tell me if that makes any business sense to you? Of course it doesn't! This company is @ss backwards, from it's customer service to overall business model. Not only this is a waste of time and money, the so called "billboard" website they are offering can damage your business. I am having a terrible experience with them. The website looks like a joke, and it is obviously a result of minimal effort content put on a template. It does not matter if this website will be #1 in the search result because it will make potential customers stay away from any company associated with such a hideous site. Horrible experience. I was told ... in order to keep the domain that I would have to pay until a certain month. I completed the payments and then was told they do not release domains. I'm on the Do Not Call list, and I kept getting these annoying robo-calls early in the morning. I eventually wanted them to stop, so I got a person on the line. Whenever I'd ask what the business name was, the person would hang up. I eventually had to pretend I wanted this vague "service" (operators would never say what the service was) and got someone from the company to email me. Then, I knew it was Local Lighthouse. Despite requesting (several times) to have my number removed from their list--and requesting via email that they stop spamming my inbox--the company continues to call me. I continue to report each violation to the FTC. I would never, never, never do business with a company that is this shady. I've made it clear that I don't want their services, and they continue to harass me. Either that or they are bad at record keeping Is this how they would treat me if I were a customer? Worst Experience ever!! I had them for a few months and did not see any results from February to end of August. Then when trying to cancel Customer Service gives me a hard time. They make me stay on hold for ever and will not take no for an answer!!! Signed up and it was a huge mistake. The only time they called me was to update my payment information which I deliberately changed so they would stop billing me. They harassed me after I told them I wanted to cancel and were extremely unprofessional. I got fed up and would be extremely vulgar and hang up on them just to have them call back immediately and leave voicemails saying, "it seems we lost contact with you." Umm, no, I told you to eff off and leave me alone! Anyways, there was a cancellation fee and they told me if I didn't pay it that it would go to collections. Gave these guys the benefit of the doubt and used the service for nearly a year. The SEO portion is a joke and based on ridiculously old Google keyword technology. The wording that they used to increase my "traffic" ended up making little to no sense and simply repeated several words in order to send me "local" traffic. I called to cancel and talked to a decent CSR who spent 10 minutes while I was on hold looking over my account. He then referred me to a "manager" who "accidentally" hung up on me. I called back, waited on hold for another 5 minutes with the stage 1 CSR, got on with the second "manager" who had to put me on hold again. So here I sit while writing this review on hold......................... I would NEVER recommend this company. Even to my competitors. I'd wish this on NO ONE. I am a small business owner and this company called me and gave a great sales pitch about how they were going to get to the top of Google and Bing search results and how they were going to build me this great website. The website was embarrassing and actually turned customers away. I did not get one new client for 6 months and when I cancelled my account when my 6 month contract was over they still continued to bill me and argue with me over the phone. The "Local Parc" page they set up is false and it has false information and statements. I was contacting them time to time for getting update. They responded my email once a while. Most of my email was ignored. I signed the electronic paper "Docu Sign" in which it was mentioned in bold words that "30-90" days 1st page Ranking in Google, Bing and Yahoo. One star is even too much for this cheater fraud company. After 90 days my business does not appear in even 90 page in search engine. They takes money automatically from my back account.
