Kind, courteous and very knowledgeable of every question I had from the location to the menu. The menu. We had a chanterelle mushroom appetizer that blew the doors off, not on the menu but great daily special. I had a pork shank with chanterelle mushrooms and fried grits that made me want to pass out they were so good and my lady had a variety of an heirloom tomato salad and a country ham salad that was so fresh we might as well have just ate it standing in the garden. The cocktails were so good we probably pissed off the staff because we were so comfortable on the patio we stayed past closing. Bottomline. Best meal we've had in two weeks on vacation traveling! Food was delicious ! I had the farmers market salad a portion of my husbands 14 oz ribeye steak. Prepared perfectly. I had a signature drink with rum that was sooo smooth highly recommend them! We had the cornbread which we were so glad we ordered! The food and space are both on par with any big city restaurant. Honestly, this is the first place that introduced me to roasted radishes, and I've been obsessed ever since. So let me begin by saying that I have been going to Local Feed regularly since they opened the doors. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Georgetown and we always bring out of town guests here. Normally I would give them a 6 star rating if one were available, the food is simply amazing. This particular one star review is specific to one visit and is more for the restaurant management to see than to discourage any Yelpers from visiting, if you haven't been there I would highly recommend it. This is one of the only negative reviews I have left on Yelp and I waited almost two months to think it through and I can't let it go. On 10/6/18 my husband, father and I headed over for dinner after a long day of yardwork for them and house work for me. We were starving. We got there just before 6 pm and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table outside - there was no possibility of sitting inside as it was a Saturday night and we had not made a reservation. No problem, it was a nice night and we were prepared to wait for a table. From there things went drastically down hill. It took almost 30 minutes from the time we were seated to place an appetizer order. We got roasted beets, brussels sprouts and deviled eggs. All normally excellent choices, but on this night decidedly subpar - and we were starving. Ages later, about 30 minutes after the apps arrived we were finally allowed to place our dinner order. Fried chicken, meatloaf and chicken and dumplings. I had never tried the chicken and dumplings before, but can attest to the fact that the other two meals are normally excellent. The chicken and dumplings was terrible. At least that night. I certainly won't be trying it again. Even worse, my husband got his sides, but not his fried chicken when the rest of the food came out. A different server came and told us there had been a problem, but he didn't get his chicken until after our waiter came back with a desert menu and we told him we were uninterested in desert until all of the dinner arrived. He didn't get his chicken until almost 8 pm. At about 8:15 we were long past ready to get out of there. It took almost a half an hour at that point to pay and leave. We finally got checked out at 8:42 pm. At that point I didn't have the energy or the time to point out that they had charged me $7 for a virgin Bloody Mary (so pretty much tomato juice...) I specified virgin as I'm pregnant and I'm certain that it had no alcohol in it, however it cost almost as much as my husband's $8 glass of red wine. I have experienced minor problems during several prior visits, but nothing that would keep me from returning. Unfortunately, we haven't been back since. Between the terrible service, the subpar food and being overcharged I just haven't been willing to risk it. read more

If you are in Georgetown you have to try this place, it is amazing! We started with the deviled eggs and brussel sprouts and they were perfect! My wife had the steak cooked medium rare, it is seldom you find someone who can cook a steak with a solid char on the outside and rare on the inside. I had the brisket and it was delicious. I was really impressed with Local Feed. I went for my birthday dinner and it was amazing. I started with an Old Fashion which was one of the best I've ever had. We also got the smoker deviled eggs. So good. I finished with the steak and special potatoes of the night. The steak was cooked perfect! Though be on the lookout if you don't like spice. It was a little on the spicy side. Hubs and I stopped in for brunch today for our first visit. I had the eggs Benedict which were delicious. He had the burger with hash browns - surprisingly, he could not finish it. Food was yummy. We visited Lexington in March 2018 and wanted a change from chains. Local Feed was so good we went back the second night. My wife loved the roasted Brussels sprouts with creamy mustard sauce and poached egg. A light smoky taste. I enjoyed a great Bibb lettuce salad with toasted black eye peas. This was a little out of our norm. Was a quaint brick building on a small back street. Was a little pricier then it was worth, but the food was OK, I had the roast beef special with roasted red potatoes roasted carrots and sprouts. Sprouts were so hard ya needed nails for teeth to chew them but had a nice roasted flavor. Hubby had the meatloaf with a dollop of mashed potatoes n gravy, wasn't enough to fill a hungry man. Been here many times. if you sit on the patio you will be forgotten. The steak sauce is WATER and the manager says that's how it's made. The homemade "catsup" is way thicker. Stopped in on a weekday night for a 1st visit based on Yelp reviews. Found the atmosphere to be just ok.... but really the food is the deal, right? Had the cheese tray appetizer which was delicious-- but way too big for just 1 person.... ideal for 2-3. Well worth it! Tried the cornbread order & if you like cornbread, you'll love this. Had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes & glazed carrots with gravy..... excellent! Gave it 4 stars because the atmosphere lacked--- for me anyway. Great decor, service and food! All of the waitstaff were top notch, and they were watching each other's tables to bus dirty dishes and refill water glasses. I had the flank steak with mushrooms and mac n cheese as the side. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything was well seasoned. My guest had three of the small plates, the salad, the brussel sprouts and the mushrooms, and all were delicious, especially the sauce on the sprouts. Happy hour had nice drink specials. What a fantastic place! I have been for drinks, snacks, full dinner, and nightcap. Every sip, Every bite... amazing! From the brussel sprouts to the fried chicken, craft beers to prohibition cocktails, everything I tried blew away my senses. This is a nice place but the acoustics for carrying on a conversation are not so good. My husband has a slight hearing problem (as do most men his age) and it just sounds very confusing to him every time we go. Great selection of drinks, especially bourbon. The craft cocktails we had at the table were fantastic. The corn bread appetizer was very good. The meals were delicious, being a large group we had an opportunity to share steak, ham chop, catfish, and stroganoff. Catfish was a little salty. Only disappointment was the lack of seafood, but it's a locally sourced restaurant so that's to be expected. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of food. My wife and I went there 2 times the first time we had to wait okay food was decent place was Extremely Loud we were seated next to the waitress station had quite a few tiny flies around our table and on. second time also had to wait but place was empty was told was short on help wanted to try other things on the menu so weighted once we were seated we continue to wait and wait but expected that since short on help was extremely cold in dining area I asked if we could go to patio told there would be a long wait I asked if they could do something about the air conditioning nothing changed food finally got there thank goodness what we've been waiting for let me just cut it short by saying nasty did not enjoy it at all just because you put a bunch of fancy name ingredients in it call it something that you never heard of and a big price does not make it taste good I had fried chicken had been brined in something weird the new potatoes microwaved and barbecue spice dumped on top can't remember right now what my wife protein was but her greens tasted like they had been cooked with pickle juice oh and place was Extremely Loud still and there was hardly no one there must have been the TV from the bar at the end of the room. The first time I ate here I was impressed. The food was delicious. Each time I've dined here it has gotten progressively louder and the kitchen has slowed to a snail's pace. The atmosphere is ok but the acoustics are not the best and it's very loud. The bar service is also slow. The menu has some delicious selections, but the reason I cannot give more stars is that they are so unhealthy. Even something as simple as Brussels sprouts is swimming in a rich sauce with bacon fat. Delicious? Yep, pretty good, but the menu is very limited if you seek healthy options. Reservations are a must, but if you need to change them, forget it. They won't answer the phone. Eh. I really wanted to love Local Feed. I had been dying to try this place as I read wonderful reviews. My husband finally agreed to it for a date night. I made reservations because I had read it was usually pretty busy with a long wait so when we arrived we were seated within 5 minutes. I loved the look of the building and the decor. Very rustic and cool. We ordered a skillet of the cornbread and it was good, not dry at all. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and husband got the fried catfish. This is where is I started to doubt my date night restaurant decision. My meat loaf was served in a mini cast iron pan; very cute. However, it was swimming in more fat and grease than I'd ever serve to my family or a guest at my house. The taste was bland- i don't think draining the grease off could've helped the flavor. The mashed potatoes were dry and stiff, again bland. My husband's catfish dish however could take your breath away it was extremely salty! He loves catfish and he could only eat half of the fish. We both sampled each others meal and were just unimpressed. (I apologized for begging to come here at this point in the meal LOL) We didn't try any beer or have dessert so I can't comment on those. The wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. Always kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly. The hostess was also very pleasant when we arrived. I really wanted to love this place, but my husband said as we were leaving that he wouldn't want to come back. I would like to go back and try brunch but as for dinner I'm going to have to agree with him. read more
