We went on a weeknight and there weren't that many people inside. Once we entered the restaurant, we waited by the host stand for about 10 minutes. The only person we see that is working is a lady behind the bar. She saw that we are standing at the host stand but did not say anything to us. Just ignored us. After about 10 minutes I went to the back to speak to the lady behind the bar to see if they were providing any service in the restaurant. I was about to leave by this point. However, soon as I went to the back, another women came out of the kitchen and told us to have a seat anywhere we like, she was the server and the host. Our server was really sweet and explained the menu to us and gave us recommendation. We ordered the Chicken Tinga, Birria toca and the Carne Asada taco. We also ordered the Chicken Nachos that came with street corn from the kids menu. I did not like the Birria toco at all. Part of the taco was burnt and it was just very greasy. The Carne Asada taco was good. But the Chicken Tinga was the best! Very flavorful. I could eat that again and again. As per the chicken nachos, it was really good. It's a big portion for being a kids meal and the corn that came with the meal was really good. We also got the margarita, which was good, but it tasted more like a lemonade then a margarita. Very disappointing since I didn't order a lemonade but a margarita. Food here is decent but the service is very poor!

Being from across town, and having been to other LCs around town, we were excited to check out this location. Upon arrival, one thing we immediately noticed was that there were no visible signs of the restaurant outside (at least from the parking lot), and even as we entered, we didn't actually see a "Local Cantina" sign until after we were seated. There was nobody at the host station, though, and we waited several minutes before we saw a restaurant staff, Sid. Sid was having to take care of hostess duty and server duty of the entire restaurant. While she was doing an amazing job at both, it was quite unfortunate on part of the management to not staff the restaurant appropriately, and particularly during happy hour. Once we were seated, Sid took great care of us. She was patient with explaining the menu, all the while having to take care of all the tables and also greeting and seating new guests. We ordered a few different things - house margarita, a Chicken Tinga taco, a Carne Asada taco, a Birria taco, Chicken Nachos from the kids' menu, and a Chicken Chimichanga. The Chicken Nachos come with a side, and we picked the Street Corn. Aside from the birria taco, which was super greasy, everything was delicious. The kids' chicken nacho was also a decent portion size. To complement all of this food, the unlimited chips and salsa station was a nice touch. Overall, good food and good service. However, management/ownership needs to support their employees and staff this location appropriately.

First visit to this Local Cantina and will be back. Love that it is in the Trolley District along side the East Marketing. I really had no idea it was back there as I primarily to into the East Market main building but saw this on yelp and decided to give it a try. Pros: good service (really nice server), other staff helps out when busy, delicious food with good options, great location and the decor was fun and festive. Plenty available free parking in the area. Cons: missed the five star mark due to slowness of our server and that another employee grabbed our cards for processing. We sat there a while after we ate waiting for our server. Slacking on the drink refills. Also scrap chips for the longest time in the self serve chip bar. Food: We started with Chips & Salsa, + Queso ($8). I ordered three soft tacos: --Bánh mì ($5) - Al pastor, pickled veggies, cucumber, cilantro, with a spicy aioli. --Nashville hot chicken ($5) - fried chicken strips, a chipotle lime ranch & slaw with dill pickles. --An Americano ($4.50 + $1.50, Weezy Style) - with ground beef, lettuce, cheese, pico, & sour cream. The up-charge Weezy Style was so worth it and made the Americano my favorite as it was both a soft flour & a hard corn shell with queso & guac between the shells. My partner has the Chimichanga ($12) - shreeded chicken, refried beans, shredded cheese , deep fried with queso, chimchurri, and lettuce, pico, and sour cream on the side. This location is about 1 1/2 from me and is closer than the Short North restaurant. The ease of parking and the vibe of this location definitely makes it a preferable option. Will be back and next time I am going with the Chicken Chimichanga.

The food was ok. You don't get chips when you are seated. Well at least we didn't. Bathrooms are clean. The atmosphere and decor is very nice. Both indoors and outdoors are nice. Service is very good. You don't get rice and beans with your burritos. It was just ok.

Came here for the yelp event a couple weeks ago and knew I had to come back! The restaurant alone is wonderful, much larger and more bar style seating than any of the other Local's. The food was better than I've had from any other Local as well. The guacamole was seasoned so well, and all of the tacos were made perfectly and full of flavor. The service is a bit confusing- it seems that the bar tenders are responsible for all of the tables, so they are often slower to get to you. Overall a wonderful restaurant and bar and my favorite location out of the other Local Cantinas

Local Cantina has always been one the best spots to get a taco. The trolly district is a super cute area and this new location fits perfect there! Lora is room inside and out. I sat at the bar and it was very clean and nice. The bartenders were very sweet and asking if everything was good. Great service and great yelp event! A free taco and local marg.

Food was on the cold side , so that was a bit disappointing, flavor was great. I had the chicken burrito as recommend by our server and consider it a good recommendation . I loved the chips and salsa being self serve ! Salsa was a tad spicy for my taste, but great flavor and it grew on me each bite. I had the ride my mustache marg and it was average for a small $8. Really enjoyed the ambiance . Our serve could've been more attentive , especially for as it was a slow Thursday night . Will give it another shot for sure !

But Jafet greeted us with a friendly and polite manner and gave us a lot of information about the Mexican version of the cuisine (surprise!). We were impressed with the Michelada (with mango chamoy and dusting of Tajin) and Mezcalita (Mezcal with pineapple). So good. Step aside, Margarita! (Also not that popular or usual in Mexico) We ordered the Tacos Dorado and the recommended Mexico City Taco ("House Special") that had steak, refried beans, pickled cactus, and fries, wrapped in corn tortillas. We are amazed. Thank you Jafet, we will back for more Friday tacos!

The Victoria draft came out in a frosty mug and it was cold cold. Yes!! As I'm waiting for my food, more customers start coming in. Made me feel better lol. I swear the music playing is a recording of a DJ at a wedding lol. Out come the nachos and they look amazing. He also brings a little stand for my cell phone so I can eat and watch YouTube. Never have I had that offered to me at any restaurant. His hustle, service and smile was appreciated. The nachos were really good. The marinated pork, cheese sauce, fresh chips, chunks of pineapple, sour cream and salsa verde just came together well. Bonus points for the cheese sauce. Not to mention I watched him prepare everything thru the glass counter. He's back there having fun then brings your food out with a smile. Love it. If it were super busy I don't know how he would keep up, but I appreciate his hustle. Yelp, your recommendation didn't disappoint. Clouds are threatening rain but the day is in the 70's and inside/outside patio doors are open. After a warm greating, we were seated and our favorite chips and salsa were delivered . We are off to a great start! The salsa is house made with chunks of tomato, onion, peppers sourced from New Mexico and other spices that come together perfectly. This is one of those things you want a day old - it gives the flavors a chance to deepen and is the best salsa EVER. Our son joined us for lunch (which was a treat for us). BUT he is deeply committed to their kid's Mac & Cheese. (SMH) and the chips and salsa. Dont blame us; he was raised better than that! Hubs and I ordered the Lunch Shredded Beef Burrito. (Our favorite meal at Chili Verde.). The beef is fork tender and so flavorable. Wrapped in a fresh tortilla and served with your choice of red or green sauce on top. We opted to use that awesome salsa to top our burtito tableside. Lunch burritos include one side. Rice and beans are the default options but I ordered the corn and hubs ordered the mashed potatoes. Dinner includes 2 sides and a larger burrito. The mashed potatoes are hand-mashed with a few chunks here and there and lightly spiced. These potatoes are a family favorite. The corn is whole kernals seasoned with onions and bacon and lightly sweetened. This is my all time go-to! Hubs also recommends the pinto beans. Served as a whole bean served in a little gravy/liquid; the side dish is peppery and yummy. The secret is out about this restaurant and it is always busy. I recommend making a reservation through open table before you visit. I posted pics of today's lunch including our empty plates that we easily could have licked clean!

We were also given a bowl of their latest salsa to try-- sweet and mildly spicy watermelon! We are regulars here and always enjoy the food and the pleasant ambiance, but this brunch was truly exceptional. We ended our meal with a plate of puffy Sopapillas with honey to share. Delicious! **This is New Mexican and NM-inspired food, not the same as Mexican or Tex-Mex.** If you're not familiar with it, you may ask for samples of sauces and meats before you order!
