I found this place by chance, simply because my wife asked a taxi driver about a fare to another area...I think things worked out quite well.
Nestled in the hills of Cork County, Ireland is a rather lovely...er, local place by the same name. The Local Bar (Place) was packed full of, well, locals! So much so that the owner himself served us beer throughout the time we were there.
The overall atmosphere was that of a very nice Irish Pub, but the place was incredibly huge! You'd never know how big the layout was from looking at the storefront. One room led to another, one set of restrooms let to yet another, and then there was the patio (beer garden) area also!
Drinks were cheap, and the price was right. Unfortunately, you shouldn't expect to eat anything other than some peanuts or simple potato chips here; this place is a legit pub with no operational kitchen. For this reason only it gets four stars.
Stop in to this place if ever you have the chance! A truly remarkable venue. read more
