Lobster Pound - Seafood Markets Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

My friend insisted that I try the lobster roll at Lobster Pound Seafood Market, so of course we had to go! I ordered mine Connecticut-style, and I have to say... it was DELICIOUS. I'm normally not the biggest lobster fan because sometimes it can be a little chewy or just feel like way too much meat, but this one was different. The lobster was so tender and practically melt-in-your-mouth, and the bread was just as good. Everything came together perfectly! It's a little pricey, but I will say it's pretty filling. They also have a nice variety on the menu, so there's something for everyone, especially if you're a seafood enthusiast. 10 out of 10 would recommend! But don't just take my word for it... go try it out for yourself! You read more

Great food. Reasonably priced! They can improve by opening a second store in gulf gate.

They are very nice and the seafood is amazing. I've been going here for about seven years.

Fresh seafood and shellfish, sourced in the USA, including live fresh Maine Lobsters kept in tank on premises. Whole belly clams, New England clam chowder and a neat eating area inside or out. A slice of New England here in Bradenton. Owner and staff are courteous and friendly. read more

Excellent Haddock Fish. Carry out...$5 extra if they cook it. Small place, clean..Family owned and operated...

Came to this side of Florida because of a soccer tournament and of course I had to take advantage of local food before I headed back home. The shop is located in a shopping mall so there is plenty of parking. The shop is made for lunch. It is small and there is seating inside and out its not meant for a very large party. On a positive note, they have a multitude of seafood sandwiches and lunch options to enjoy a nice meal. I saw photos of lobster rolls on yelp, so I got the lobster roll. It was so good. Packed with lobster and the bread was delicious. My son and husband got the red snapper sandwich blackened with fries. We were also able to try their clam chowder (delicious) as well as their key lime pie (i am unsure if it's made there but it was very good). The cashier was sweet. The staff made sure that we were happy with the food and for a small cafe I can't ask for anything else. Great lunch spot especially if you want a feel for the keys or some delicious seafood. read more

Lobster Pound is a unique little market and restaurant-there really aren't many places like it anymore. My boyfriend ordered the lobster roll, and it was amazing. We also tried the soups, including the New England clam chowder and lobster bisque, and both were excellent. Unfortunately, I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich and asked for it seared, but it was way overcooked. The tuna was cooked all the way through (brown throughout) and very dry. Next time I come back, I will not be getting the tuna, but definitely the lobster roll. I should of known better, based on the name of the restaurant, but I decided against my better judgement. read more

BEST BLACKENED GROUPER I'VE EVER HAD! My sister and I were en route back from the Lena Road Landfill and decided to stop for lunch. We googled and found the highly rated Lobster Pound. It's easy to find in Lakewood Ranch and there's ample parking provided. The Lobster Pound is a quaint place, with an extensive menu (see photo attached). We were welcomed warmly upon arrival and given time to peruse the vast menu. Ultimately we went with the blackened grouper sandwich and OH EM GEE am I glad. It took some time to come out but this speaks to them making things as they are ordered and it was 100% worth the wait. The fish was incredibly flavorful and juicy. So juicy and cooked perfectly! It didn't need any sauce or additional seasoning, it was outstanding on its own with tomato and lettuce on a bun. They also are sure to give you a large piece of grouper/nice serving size. This was hands down the best grouper sandwich I've experienced ever. Highly recommend stopping into the Lobster Pound and giving their offerings a try. Everything looked really good. read more

We tried the Giant cold and hot with hush puppies. My friend thought hot, the lobster seemed overcooked. My cold with mayo was good, but maybe needed something extra to give it a bit more flavor. Hush puppies were just ok. Coleslaw was good. read more

One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had. I just wish there was more to it for the price.

Have you ever been to a restaurant where no matter what you pick off the menu it's fabulous? I've had just about everything on this menu and it hasn't failed me yet! The fish chowder was very good but spicy, but if you like spice, the flavor is incredible! The clam chowder is New England "finest kind" as is the pan seared scallops, fresh Maine lobster, and anything else you care to name! Not the first time we've been here, obviously, and not the first review, however, they keep getting better! Jim and Kelly, the proprietors are incredibly cordial. The whole experience of coming here is not just the food, but the wonderful warm reception you get from everyone, whether it is Jim, or Kelly or Bob and Tucker! I love family businesses and this is the reason why! We drive a hour to get here and it's worth every mile! read more

Lobster Pound - A Hidden Gem That Delivers Big Flavor and Even Bigger Hospitality If you're anywhere near this spot and haven't been to Lobster Pound yet, you're missing out. I stopped in recently and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and the warmth of the service. The lobster roll? Perfection. Overflowing with sweet, tender claw and knuckle meat, lightly dressed to let the freshness shine, and nestled in a perfectly toasted, buttery roll. Paired with golden, hand-cut fries that had just the right amount of crisp -- not greasy, just addictive. Even the garnish and lemon wedge felt thoughtfully placed. The vibe inside is laid-back and unpretentious -- a small place with a big heart. The staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely seemed to care that every customer was having a great experience. It's the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first visit. If you want a true taste of coastal comfort food with the kind of service that turns a meal into a memory, Lobster Pound delivers. I'll absolutely be back read more

Mmmmm. OK I think the store is amazing. Has fresh fish clams things of that nature and the lobster roll I would say wasn't the best I've ever had. It wasn't flavorful for $35. The sandwich was a little small. I wasn't impressed at all, but I do like the ambience in the store and the people are nice there. read more

6.5/10 - I honestly had a high hopes for this but it wasn't all that. I would have loved maybe some lobster tail on the roll but it wasn't all just the claws. Was pleased with the amount of meat however. Service was great. Ambiance ehh it's in a shopping center. read more

Lobster Pound - Connecticut Connecticut Roll - Regular - Seafood Markets Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

Went to the lobster pound over the weekend. I've been wanting to check this place out because my husband has lately been very obsessed with lobster rolls, they are his favorite food. So anytime we see a place that serves them we check it out. First I will say this was a great lunch spot. Second, the staff was all very nice and very attentive. Third, they sold a lot of fresh fish and I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smell the slightest bit of fishy inside. Now onto the roll, the lobster was so fresh, the portion sizes were great for the price, the sides were amazing. The only thing is that the lobster rolls, both the hot and the cold, lacked flavor. I was slightly disappointed because this place had everything going for it, but the rolls ended up being lackluster because they just didn't have any seasoning. The lobster was delicious and fresh but lemon and butter and mayo can only take it so far. It's possible we just got a bad batch but unfortunately I was not in love with this place. Everything else was really good though. So maybe give it a try and see if it is better for you! read more

Been wanting to try this lobster roll forever and finally did. I ordered my Connecticut Lobster Roll and it came out fairly fast. I'm glad I already planned and take it to go and eat it elsewhere because it was a sauna in there. The guy working was super nice. The lobster roll which I got with Cole slaw just was ok. No biggie, no pronounced flavor or anything. It was really that is it Ambience couple tables inside and outside tables and remember there was no air on a scorching May Day. I'll pass next time on this one. Unfortunately. read more

Wow this is by far one of the BEST lobster roll I've ever had. Don't think too hard and just get their giant Connecticut lobster roll for $36 and you get 1.5 lbs of pure lobster meat drenched in butter! On top of that great service! I would give 10 stars!!! Really fresh lobster- I love it warmed with butter. Service is outstanding- I was driving stuck in traffic on 75, they were closing in 20 minutes - I called to order a lobster roll- I got there at closing but my food was warm and ready to go. Love this place. For what it doesn't have in ambiance it more then makes up for in service and food!! read more

Lobster is my favorite food so I'm very picky about it. For $34.99 + tax I got the Connecticut giant lobster roll. Pretty pricey but you get a good amount of lobster. I love the fact it doesn't have that extra stuff to the lobster like mayo and slaw so you're getting ALL lobster. I do wish there was more flavor to the lobster and more butter. Even squeezing the lemon on the side on the lobster helped. Not the best lobster roll I've had but solid. read more

The food was fantastic. I had fried clams. They were very delicious. The clam chowder is the best. It really taste like New England clam chowder and the clams of fried bellies and all which I can't find anywhere in Florida I would recommend this place. It's small, but the food is phenomenal. They also have raw fish. You can buy my next visit, I'll be trying the haddock and the clam dinner service was great. Can hardly wait to go back again which will be on my birthday read more

I came down from Michigan to visit friends. They introduced me to the Lobster Pound. It seemed like old home week because the owner remembered them from a year ago. The lobster was absolutely delightful, covered in butter and served with really great bread. The lobster bisque was unbelievable. The service was fantastic. And I can't wait to go again. Also, I can say this is a 12 out of 10 review. read more

Must stop! We stopped here today and it was great! The staff was friendly but heads up, this location is very small so there's only outdoor seating available. We took our lunch to go. Hubby got the Connecticut Lobster Roll and said it was fabulous plus the Cole Slaw was the best he's had in forever! He said it had great flavor and wasn't too runny. He also had a cup of Clam Chowder and said it was loaded with clams and had terrific flavor. I had the chicken tenders, chips and Whoopie pie. The whoopie pie was ok, it was pre-packaged and shipped in so I wouldn't get it again, but the chicken tenders were great and perfect for a quick lunch. read more

We were going to be in this area, so I found this place on Yelp. 3 of the 4 of us are from Massachusetts, so it was a no brainer. I don't eat seafood, but the tenderloin tips sandwich sounded ok. Well, the other 3 were thrilled with their seafood, but i think I got the best sandwich! That steak was so tender, flavorful... but the little cup of au jus was AMAZING. And the people there checked on us several times, making sure we were happy with our meals. We will make another trip just to eat here soon, it was THAT good. read more

The food was well prepared and service good. Small place with a couple tables was ok. Portions a bit small but ok flavor

My favorite lobster roll in the world, one that is worth a trip to Florida by itself. I tried a lobster roll in Paris that won "best in the world" and my first reaction to it was "it's not as good as Lakewood Ranch Lobster Pound." Can't recommend enough, and the friendly service makes it even better! read more

Wow- this was our first stop after flying in from Chicago and we were craving a fresh seafood lunch. As a party of 13 with some very picky eaters, we all left satisfied and agreed we will return again in our one week stay here. This is a small "hole in the wall" seafood market type restaurant, you order at the counter and there are a couple tables inside with more outdoor tables. The gentleman at the register was friendly and quick to offer some recommendations when we asked, telling us about the fresh catch and different ways it could be prepared. Our group went with all different selections: crab legs, steamer platter, cold lobster roll, hot lobster roll, fried shrimp and scallops, shrimp tacos, swordfish sandwich; Mahi Mahi sandwich. And every single thing was OUTSTANDING. The food alone was enough to warrant the 5 stars, but Tucker made me wish I could rate this place more than 5. His friendly demeanor, outstanding service (it's not easy accommodating requests from a large party) and generous sampling of other menu items made us all leave with not only full bellies but smiles on our faces! Tucker- YOU ROCK! read more

Small place. Staff was friendly and answered our questions when we came in for lunch. My husband had the blackened grouper sandwich and I had the grilled mahi mahi sandwich. They came with Lays potato chips. Sandwiches were good. We also ordered a bowl of the chowder...less than a spoonful of fish. We ate a little bit of the broth with the crackers. We should have asked for another bowl that wasn't just broth. Tried the Connecticut lobster rolls. Pretty amazing!! Normally I can't do lobster rolls because in California they are typically made with mayo (an absolute dealbreaker for me...can't do it). But they offer both choices here!! The Connecticut lobster rolls are dipped in butter and put on a toasted roll. Heavenly! We got the giant with 50% more lobster. How can that not be a good idea?! Took one star off for the chowder, but if we are back next year we will definitely get the Connecticut lobster rolls! read more
