The biggest thing we notice at OLF is that the teachers are energized and not burned out like other schools. Our kids enjoy going to school here and love everything about it. It has made our transfer very seamless. The beautiful campus overlooking the ocean is a nice treat as well.

We couldn't be happier with our daughter's experience at this small private Catholic school. What…read moretruly sets it apart is the sense of community. Because of its size, every teacher genuinely knows each student--not just academically, but personally--and it's clear how deeply they care about each child's growth and well-being. The academic standards are excellent, and students are consistently challenged and supported. Beyond academics, there is a strong emphasis on moral character, faith, and being a kind, responsible citizen within the community. Those values are woven into everyday learning, not just taught as a separate lesson. The administrative staff greet every student by name each morning, creating a warm and welcoming environment that makes children feel seen and valued from the moment they walk through the door. Parent involvement is encouraged and truly appreciated, which further strengthens the school community. We feel grateful to be part of a school where education, faith, and character are so thoughtfully balanced. It has been a wonderful place for our daughter to learn, grow, and thrive.

I have had my daughter in this school since November 2016... I'd like to say that the experience…read morehas been as good as it has been at our previous school in the Newhall School District. I'd like to say that, but I can't. This school is over-crowded, the valet is an absolute nightmare before and after school, the communication is incomplete (at best because I have also had communications that NEVER made it to my email), but yet I get numerous weekly automated calls from the district & principal that would be better communicated via email than a 3 minute spoken message. And I can't speak for every teacher, but my daughter's teacher last year had one foot in the retirement ring, which made for a less than pleasant year for both students & parents. I dread attending functions at this school because of the traffic and crowds, which is sad because we've always been so active at our children's school. Now that my twins are in kindergarten, I am seriously reconsidering ALL of my children's enrollment in this monster-sized school. WAY over-crowded, a bit too clique-y and too little space or parking.

If you are not in a big group you don't get to seat at the table. All other areas like walls are taken over also. I bet teachers have plenty of room in their cozy lunch room. When kids need help teachers are not even willing to answer e-mails back. English teacher Mrs. Velez doesn't grade all the work, so grades are lower than they would if all the work would be graded. Teachers like Dubel and Amon are friends so they spend literally half of the time talking to each other, going to each other classrooms, leaving the kids alone playing computer games or do nothing. Some teachers simply don't explain material well. Do I need to say more? It's endless.

Our daughter has been a student here for three years now, and the transformation we have witnessed is nothing short of amazing. We've seen her confidence soar and her academic skills sharpen, but the most rewarding part has been watching her faith and understanding of the Bible deepen. It is clear that the passionate teachers and staff are not just educators; they are mentors who lead with their hearts and a shared faith foundation. A few things that really set SCCS apart for us: * Small Class Sizes: The individualized attention our daughter receives has been so good for her growth. * Safety & Security: We have peace of mind every single day knowing the SCCS team fosters such a safe and secure environment. * The Community: The social opportunities for both students and parents are incredible. It's a place where family values are celebrated, and we've built lasting friendships with other families who share our values. If you are looking for a Christian school in San Clemente that feels like an extension of your home and community, we cannot recommend SCCS enough. It provides the perfect balance of a curriculum and a supportive, faith-filled community that truly prepares our kiddos for the future.
