She was able to answer my questions in terms that I would understand. From the start she knew our concerns and worked around it such as hard and soft credit checks. She was amazing to have on our side because once we started putting in offers, she was able to accomodate any timeline our realtor put to have a competitive edge. Besides her website providing notifications and reminders, she personally texted to remind us what documents were pending. She was able to get us a good interest rate and really broke down the differences in how much we put down and how that would affect the interest rates. She even broke down future recasts and how that would lower our montly payments. I'm glad to say she'll be my broker for life or until she retires. Can't wait for her call to say lets refinance when the interest rates lower.

I have tried to meet up with him multiple times and nothing. I have called and left voicemails, text messages, and emails. Still nothing. I have tried and tried to be patient and understanding. But at this point I have had enough. It's been 2+years dealing with this. I'm going to be talking to a lawyer about this.

My Experience With New Beginnings Realty & Lending…read more I was informed about Walter's extensive knowledge in the mortgage industry by a long-time co-worker; so I entrusted her evaluation of his wisdom and began the process of submitting documents to begin a refinance. The initial steps went well as I had all the necessary documentation filed at home. However, upon filling out the loan application I, unfortunately, had to mark that I had filed bankruptcy within the last 7 years. I told Walter of this with doubt beginning to fill my consciousness and he reassured me that he's worked with customers having a bankruptcy on their record before and that it would not be a problem. So as the refinance process began to take shape, of course, the pitfalls began to present themselves in ever mounting fashion! Pitfall #1.. come to find out, the credit union placed a lien against my home for the balance of a HELOC loan and credit card that were included in my 2013 bankruptcy totaling $35,000. This particular pitfall was extremely detrimental to my plans of pulling out $100,000 from my home whilst maintaining a mortgage payment that I could comfortably afford on a monthly basis. Walter now needed to request a higher refinance from the lender which resulted in the loan having an adjustable rate; but Walter was now arranging a loan where I would be pulling out $115,000. Pitfall #2.. somehow during the bankruptcy, a partial payment was made which means my mortgage payments now appeared to be a month behind with a balance of $800 due to make up the difference and bring the mortgage current. Upon word of this, the lender Walter had been working with on my refinance PULLED OUT stating that I'm 5 months out of bankruptcy and behind on my mortgage again. Although, this WAS NOT THE ACTUAL SCENARIO; it just looked Extremely Bad. After this surprise development Walter called me and asked would $90,000 allow me to purchase the necessary equipment to begin my business. I said "yes, it would." He then asked would $80,000 allow me to purchase the necessary equipment to begin my business. I quickly thought about it, and said "let me not be greedy, yes I can work with that." Walter then said "okay, what we'll do now is get you a second to get your money and then in a few months we'll consolidate the two loans into a new mortgage." At this point, I'M TOTALLY VESTED in Trusting Walter's Experience; his Moral Ethics; his Willingness to help me achieve my vision; and his Knowledge of navigating the ins and outs of the mortgage industry. After a few days Walter called me to say that I needed to come in to sign and notarize documentation for the second mortgage and a cash payout of $79,000. After signature, I amended a couple of documents via e-mail with the title company and VOILA on December 19, 2019 a deposit of $80,005 was made to my checking account. Then as I was riding home on BART and just thinking about all that has happened, I realized something... since this is a second, I STILL HAVE MY 15 YEARS OF EQUITY IN THE PROPERTY and the money to pay the second note is sitting in the bank! I'm pretty sure this means that at the time of consolidation, I could still pull out the additional $20,000 bringing my total to $100,000; which is great since I just blew the head gasket on my 1996 Pontiac (a new car is needed at this point). Although my initial attempt at refinance crashed and burned due to the unforeseen circumstances I myself had unknowingly created; I witnessed FIRST HAND Walter's EXCEPTIONAL KNOWLEDGE of the various processes needed to make my dream vision come to fruition of getting money out to purchase business capital. He QUICKLY Bounced Back with a plan JUST AS GOOD to make my vision come true after encountering what seemed like insurmountable roadblocks to my refinance! My next step is to get my 26 year old daughter in position to purchase her own home in 2020 so she can stop paying $1,600 for a studio apartment in San Francisco. ______________________________________________ In response to the other reviewer that posted a one star review, I'll say this; maybe you needed to show just a tad bit more faith in Walter because he basically got me $80,000 even though I'm only 5 months out of a bankruptcy filed only 6 years ago. And let's not forget that during the aforementioned bankruptcy, a banking institution used ALL Options Available to Them in order to recoup (at a later date) the $35,000 that I couldn't pay.

Although the wait was substantial because there was a lot of customers, the process was very smooth and informative. I chose right to bypass the online application because the person that helped me was very friendly with lots of information about the different accounts that were available. I met Nicole who was a knowledgeable and friendly banker. She was just awesome and an asset to the bank. I did deduct one point from a perfect score because Travis did not give me an ATM card unto the second try and then failed to mail a pin code which I have read in other reviews as well. They told me they went with a new company that delivers the PIN code and I have requested this several times and was ordered a few times but never came. I ordered it to the bank itself to be kept in their vault they said-NEVER came! I ordered it to the house-NEVER came! I gave up and don't use the ATM anyway as I go into the bank itself which you do not need a card like other banks so they tell me. I have never withdraw yet because it is in a multi-month CD so when the time comes I will update it it goes smoothly to withdraw my money or not?! That kind of makes me suspect in reality why are they having so much trouble with a PIN code being delivered to its customers-like do they want to prevent people taking their money out!? However, I did check and TCU has a good and solid bank rating. It is insured by the NCUA (like FDIC but for credit unions). At least making some money, since regular big banks are not giving anything other than pennies literally. So I will update if anything is questionable or not good, but so far it has been great and I earned a good amount. I did rollover into the best interest rate again although it was a bit lower, but still decent among the brick and mortar. You can get quite a bit sometimes with online banking, but I honestly do not trust online banking because there is no place you can go to if sometghing happens and they shut down and cannot reach them online or on the phone, who can you go to?! At least the brick and mortar places, you have someone you can yell at or get your money hopefully and I mean if they invested in a physical place with employees, etc more of a chance it is invested in its company. Updated to add: manager read my Yelp and personally called to help me with getting an ATM card and PIN code. She apologized for the problem and said she will do anything to make it right! Way to go- I appreciated it being a customer and not just an account number like in the big banks. I like TCU even more now!
