I went through the initial application for a mortgage refinance with New Fed. They claimed a…read morecertain rate with a no fee closing. Reviewing the documents they wanted me to sign, the paperwork presents a $500 application fee, that if closed they waive. The paperwork also states that the rate is NOT locked. This means they could change the rate at any time and you would be locked into their fee without a good rate. I talked with the loan officer on the phone. She tried to claim the rate would lock right after signing. I asked for a contract or paperwork to reflect that, she would not provide it. Looking at the BBB and yelp reviews for this company, and their prior name, commonwealth mortgage, suggests that many people had their rate change after they signed the paperwork, meanwhile fees were not refunded. This company might claim good rates, but looking at the details buyer beware, they don't put their paperwork behind their marketing claims.

Jason was incredibly patient and helpful - I felt like I could fully trust him. He would follow up with me on weekends and on weeknights since my schedule was incredibly crazy during the regular workday. I cannot even tell you how much I appreciated that. When it was time for my fiance and me to buy our home this last February, we went back to Jason. Again, the process was pleasant, seamless and as hassle-free as it could be. Tara at MSA helped us find and compile all the proper documentation. Jason helped us get an incredibly low rate this time around and I know that if we ever buy again, we'll go back to MSA. Thanks, Jason + team!

I've begun to think about my future and the prospect of buying a home. As I will be a first-time…read morehome buyer, I had a ton of questions about the process and was eager to sit down with someone knowledgable in the field of purchasing a home. I was given Jeff Rolke's name through a friend who had used him in the past with great success. Prior to our meeting, I didn't realize that a mortgage broker is different than a bank that offers loans independently. Jeff and Goldcoast Mortgage work with six different banks in order to acquire the best rate. I found Jeff to be very comfortable to speak with, as he is friendly and down to earth. At the same time, he was very professional and had a lot to explain about the process (the percentage that needs to be put down initially, etc.) He explained how mortgages work and elaborated on the different types of mortgages (and why some people run into trouble with their mortgages). He also explained how he works in collaboration with a skilled real estate attorney to make sure my that my best interest is made a priority throughout the process. After our meeting, I called Goldcoast with a few more questions about the process and I was surprised that they knew me by name, and as they are a small group, were already familiar with my particular situation. I know my dream home is one day going to be a reality and look forward to Goldcoast Mortgage being a part of that process!

They sold it to a 1 star, shady loan servicer with terrifyingly horrible reviews, no accreditation at all, not even the Better Business Bureau. This has really disturbed me.

We went into this process as first time home buyers and didn't really know what to expect. Deb walked us through everything and answered any and all questions we had extremely fast - not once did we feel nervous or confused. She asked for the necessary paperwork and did the rest. She honestly made us feel like VIPs. Everything was done quickly and accurately which ultimately led us to the home of our dreams. Chris and his team hands down, one of the best well organized and professional mortgage brokers I…read morehave ever dealt with, I have purchased many homes and never had such great experiences like this. When searching for a mortgage broker, here are the two things I looked for, competitive rates and customer service, broker who doesn't lie to get your business and after they don't follow through with their promises. Miller Mortgage gave me both things, here's the reasons why I am such a satisfied customer. Beside getting the best rates, I also got top notch customer service. Throughout the whole process and on many occasions, I would text Chris at 9pm and 5am off hours to ask him some questions and I didn't expect a replied back, but no Chris did replied back and kept on assuring me that everything will be fine. I also asked to see if it's possible to close two weeks earlier than the original close date and with lots of going back and forth, we were able to close on the date we wanted. I highly recommend Miller mortgage to anyone looking for a loan, whether you are a 1st time buyer or not, you will get exceptional services from his team. Thanks again Soakie and Chris for all your hard work, we are so happy that were able to move into our new home before the holidays!!!

Worst mortgage experience EVER!! Buyer beware…read more.. They will give any Tom, Dick and Harry a mortgage license... Jon, Anthony and Greg's lack of mortgage rules/laws is astonishing. This branch is the definition of tell you what you want to hear to get your business! After receiving written pre-approval, approval, mortgage commitment, and a emailed copy of the final CD... We were told 48 hrs prior to closing that we couldn't close and had to completely restructure our mortgage from a jumbo to a conventional loan (making us go from 20% out of pocket to 40%). There reason was because they interpreted a law/rule for a self employed vs W2 employee one way and redwood trust (jumbo loan backer) said that is not how the rule is interpreted and denied the loan. How this came up at the 11th hour blows my mind, this was discussed on day one prior to even filling out an application because it was a concern but we were assured this wasn't going to be an issue. I'm sure they will spin this but I have all this in writing as well as backup. So in order to not be homeless with a wife, and two kids under 3 we did what we had to do to not lose the house. When speaking with Jon branch manger who by the way never reached out to me, I had to go online and find his phone number and call Myself, I was told: this is the first I'm hearing about this now and will do some research while at the same time he told me they have 100 mortgages going at once so he doesn't know everyone of the top of his head...That to me says: your just a number and we don't care. Considering this is a HUGE F*** up on they side. During a pandemic and finical uncertain time to have to generate this amount of money is extremely unsettling. If I were you I would pull my mortgage application and go in a different direction, just a matter of time before they do this again and completely ruin someone's life. Legal action is being taken.

They're sociopaths. We were introduced to Guaranteed Rate through our real estate agent at the time…read morebecause they share an office space. We were interested in getting pre-qualified for an offer we were about to put in on a house. Red flag #1 was our call with them to get pre-qualified. We told them the amount we were prepared to offer, and we were peppered with "Are you sure?? We could qualify you for WAY more!!" Folks, this is how foreclosures happen. When you decide on a price range that fits your financial situation you absolutely should not be talked into a higher range by a complete stranger, especially not one with a financial interest in driving up your mortgage amount. And your mortgage lender absolutely should not be trying to goad you into a higher offer amount. They tell you this in any first time homebuyers class. We did not put in any more home offers with that realtor, and we had no reason to contact Guaranteed Rate. That didn't stop the DAILY barrage of texts, emails, and mail from Shant and Guaranteed Rate. Nothing has stopped them from constantly pestering us with the exact same content like we're somehow going to finally come around on the 10,000th "Hey just checking in..." Don't take my word for it. Google it. Take a homebuyer's class. Ask anyone in the real estate business without an immediate financial interest in getting you to buy a mortgage. They'll all tell you that this kind of predatory behavior is the textbook example of what to avoid when considering a mortgage lender.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!…read more This was mortgage refinance nightmare. If I could give zero stars I would. It started with typos on my appraisal. Followed by by failure to returns calls/emails in a timely manner. No biggee, I'll just deal with your boss rather than you. I closed in November (or so I thought). Got called back in Dec telling me that they made an error and I had to go back to the lawyer, sign again and bring more $$$. At that point I called the corporate office in Chicago and lodged an official complaint. I thought we had straightened things out, although I had to go back and resign and bring the $$. I was told there would be no further issues. Lets face it, Guaranteed Rate had me over a barrel-they had closed out my prior mortgage and owned me. Fast forward 3 weeks. My mortgage broker and his boss are not returning any of my emails. The settlement check still hadn't been cashed despite confirming delivery. When I called the branch manager, I was told it was up to me to find out what happened and was given a number to another department in the Chicago office. WHAT??? So now it's on me to do YOUR job. Numerous phone calls and emails later, they finally located my second settlement check and cashed it. It still took days to get the loan transferred to the correct entity. I'll believe it's finally through when I see the welcome package. The best (of the worst) part....I made enough phone calls and eventually was able to speak to the VP of Client Relations. He apologized for the series of errors and told me that he would now personally follow my mortgage until it was finally transferred. I told him I wanted and expected close attention and he agreed. Yesterday, I got an email from him telling me things were almost finalized. He then proceeded to-not once, but twice-tell me to enjoy my NEW home. Here's the kicker, this was a mortgage REFINANCE! The subject line of the email was "my mortgage refinance". Nice work, Mr. VP. Glad to know sloppiness starts at the top and trickles down.
