I am deeply concerned by Dr. Alan Lo's conduct in connection with a patient experiencing severe lumbar and hip pain that has left the patient largely bedridden and unable to care for himself. Despite the patient's significant and well-documented symptoms, Dr. Lo declined to authorize or pursue necessary diagnostic measures that would ordinarily be expected under basic standards of medical care. This refusal appears inconsistent with the duty of care and ethical obligations assumed by a licensed medical doctor, including the commitment to act in the patient's best interests and to do no harm. The failure to adequately evaluate a patient suffering from debilitating pain raises serious questions regarding professional judgment, adherence to accepted medical standards, and respect for the oath that governs the practice of medicine. No patient should be placed in a position where access to essential diagnostic care is withheld under circumstances such as these. This matter warrants close review by the licensing board. I highly discourage any one from seeking his care. read more

PSA FOR ALL NEW PATIENTS OF DR. ALAN LO Even if you clearly state that you are booking for an annual preventive care visit, they will still charge you for a "new patient rate" which will NOT be fully covered by your insurance making you pay some out of pocket. We were clear when we called and booked this that it was for my husband's annual physical. Stated the last time he had his preventive visit was a year ago. That was his last doctor's visit in general too. I've spoken with different staff from the office a few times now and have asked if they can change the charge code to be an annual visit. A few reasonings I've gotten across the staff as to why they charge a different rate: 1. Doctor's office: A preventative care visit has specific items that the doctor covers like blood work. - my answer: the doctor did have my husband get blood work done so that's invalid. 2. Doctor's office: well, it looks like they talked about other stuff besides just preventative care items - my answer: well if a doctor asks you how's everything going and anything he should know about, you would think mentioning any health related items would be alright. But no, sounds like you should NOT mention anything or ask questions if you want the visit to remain a preventive care visit. 3. Doctor's office: oh because he's a new patient, it a new patient rate - my answer: they did not tell us this when we booked. If they ALWAYS charge a new patient rate if it's the first visit, that should be something they state clearly up front because my husband has seen different doctors every year for his preventative annual visit because we've moved around and no other office has charged us this "special" rate. Point bringing me back to my PSA for this doctor's office. My PCP doctor lets me talk about anything related to my health during my annual visit so I'm shocked this doctor charges extra. I spoke with Dr. Lo directly about the bill and he used the talk track that "we're a small business too and need to make money" but that my husband would have unlimited email / text communication access to him. So I just paid it with that "promise" in mind. Now after going through all the referrals & tests and a few thousand dollars later, we still don't know the issue, we reached out to Dr. Lo via the "unlimited" communication he promised and we were told "you need to book an appointment to talk about next steps"... We tried calling the office 3 times now and no response. What a waste of time and money with no resolution or help. read more

I just want to say I used to love this doctor . I am very sick with covid . Sick where I need to stay in bed and I can't move I am very sick . I called his office and was informed he was on vacation.Mind you they have another doctor in the office. I wanted Paxlovid called in. They said I would have to wait until Monday. Really???? It's only Tuesday.I Not to mention they should not give medical advice. I asked if the other doctor could call it in. A big fat no. They told me to call 911 and go to the ER. What a horrible way to treat a patient. What a stupid staff Dr Lo.Who trained these lack of concern people. Is this what they would advise there family members? read more

I have been dealing with Dr. Lo for over a year now after being referred to him. He is an outstanding doctor on all levels. He has a great bed-side manor and is very responsive when I have questions. He genuinely cares about his patients and has given me good advice. I read a review below which gave him 1 star because somebody was not able to get in to see him within 1 1/2 months. This is very unfair because it is not his fault that he is in such high demand. I would say this is why he deserves 5 stars. I like having a physician who has a lot of patients because it means he is good. Dr. Lo is a great physician and I highly recommend him. read more

Does me no good if I cannot book an appointment within 1.5 months. Why bother accepting new patients?

Recently changed insurance providers, losing my previous Doctor in the process. I based my choice for a new Doctor (Alan Lo) on yelp reviews, but that was the wrong decision. I don't really care how good a doctor is if the earliest you can see him is more than two months out. (The staff said 2 earliest available was in September; its July now). Apparently if you need to see Alan Lo before the three months, they recommend you go to urgent care. Really, what's the point of a PCP if all they do is charge you for scheduled visits when you're not in need, but refuse you when you're sick and in need? Now to search for another Doctor. read more

I have gone to Dr. Lo for several years and have nothing but good things to say about him. He doesn't schedule patients too close together so has time to explain things thoroughly and answer your questions. I never feel rushed when I'm there as he truly cares about his patients. If I call with a question or problem, he usually gets back to me within a few hours. Everyone that works is the office is very nice and helpful. Definitely deserves a 5-star rating. read more

Continuing my review of Alan Lo so called doctor? "Lo to me, we have 3 endocrinologists in this office location, non of them have heard of Dercums Disease". So l guess that means its in my head?, "Go study Deepak Chopra he said as je rushed me out of the door. . IT WAS ABUSE from the DISEASE and ABUSE from a Primary care doctor. He read nothing from my rare orphan disease specialist, an MD, PhD specialist, she is the only one in the world who can treat it, I have to fly to another state every six months to see her. . If anyone thinks Deepak Chopra can help me, pass it on! If you think it's in my head, go to: Mystery Diagnosis, June 2010, dercums disease, Discovery Health T/V, l would love to hear from him? Alan Lo is what they call, A DYSFUNCTIONAL MEDICAL Practitioner, HE IS NOT A HEALER, he is a PARASITE on the system! read more

Excellent, compassionate and competent doctor. He really takes the time to listen and then answer your questions. He actually calls you to discuss results if needed which a lot of doctors do not. He never rushes you or makes you feel like you are just another patient. Dr. Lo is by far an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for good care. Dr. Lo has been my husband's and my primary care physician for many years, even through insurance changes. Dr. Lo has a friendly, easy going manner and makes you feel very comfortable and "heard". He is attentive and will always call back to check up on you or follow up personally with results. He is very professional yet friendly... it's rare these days to find a doctor that is sincerely interested in your care and not just processing you like a number. The office staff is always so kind and caring. I never feel rushed, and the wait is never really long. I appreciate they seem to value our time and and don't over schedule clients. Yes, you may have to wait several weeks to get in for an annual physical (so schedule early!), but there is a system in place where you can call at 8:30am to get tin to see him the same day for an urgent need. Otherwise, we just pop over to urgent care, so not a big deal. Great office, great staff, awesome doctor! read more

We just qualified for MedCare and had to find a new primary care physician. It is not easy to find a doctor who will take new patients. We did a lot of research and decided to give Dr. Lo a try. I called to make an appointment as soon as I got my new insurance number but before my effective date. First good impression: office staff answered my phone call promptly, took down my information, made my appointment and answered all my questions. Very helpful and friendly. Also sent me forms to complete before my visit. I had a 10:30am on a Friday. I did wait 25 minutes before I got called in. BUT Dr. Lo spent 30 minutes with me going over my medical history and addressing my issues and concerns. For now we have a truly good impression of Dr. Lo and his staff. Good communication and feel like we are all on the same page. We are hopeful that we have found the right doctor who will take care of us for a long time. I will update my review as things progress. read more

dr. alan lo and his staff make one feel as if they are being taken care of by family that loves you. dr. lo makes one think of the great tv doctors named dr. kildare, dr. marcus welby and dr. ben casey. dr. lo gives one the time and respect that a patient expects from their primary care physician. in other words dr, lo is a doctor that really really wants what is best for his patients not some insurance company. dr. lo is thorough and very personable. kristi, his right hand, remebers your name and phone number and what ailes you and is so sharp and dynamic in taking care of business that she needs a gold medal. i have never been with an office that acquires your referreals so quickly. phone calls are returned asap. lupita and ella are right behind kristi in patient attention and care. i cannot say enough great things about this office. everything is clean and modern and easy access to park too. thank you god for this great doctor and his staff. robin stewart. read more
