I recently had my sheer custom-made living room drapes cleaned by Ram. I asked for their service to…read moretake the drapes down and to rehang them because I am elderly and also because I had no idea how to rehang them, even though they were on a simple traverse rod. The cleaning was fine but the rehanging was a very bad joke. The first fellow that rehung them didn't anchor them to the end pieces of the traverse rod so of course they would not open or close. Seems to me that's traverse rod 101. They were also bunched up in the middle. The second guy who came to rehang them said, "What do you mean, bunched?" I knew it was a lost cause so I asked him not to touch my drapes but to just leave. I watched a 10-minute YouTube video about hanging drapes on a traverse rod, and in that 10-minute time span, I became an expert on rehanging drapes. So, two months short of my 77th birthday, this old woman, all 5'0" of me, brought my step-ladder up from the basement and rehung my drapes properly. While doing so, I saw that two hooks had been stabbed through the fabric and were showing on the front. I am so grateful that neither on snagged or tore the sheer fabric. Ram gave me a substantial refund but only after calling every day for over a week, and emailing with numerous before & after pictures. Be very careful if you are turning anything of value over to them. Clearly they don't train their staff.

I would not even give them this one star but I have no choice…read more I had been a RAM customer for 20 years. I hired them to clean my wall to wall carpets. This year, I hesitantly asked them to clean my valuable vintage hand-knotted Persian carpet. Holly assured me that they do clean Persian carpets and that they had done this for 40 years. Little did I know that they don't use any specialized cleaning techniques for expensive Persian carpets. It turns out that they simply use steam-cleaning, just as they do for wall to wall synthetic carpets and also charge more for it. Outrageous. If you know anything about Persian carpets, you would know that steam-cleaning wool/cotton can damage your carpet. You can't wash your wool clothes in hot water, so why would anyone steam clean a wool/cotton carpet. I was never told this critical piece of information when I spoke with Holly. Obviously, she was uninformed. I feel bad for all the individuals who have been fleeced by RAM, thinking that their treasured carpets had been properly cleaned. The 2 guys who came over to pick up my carpet were OK at first, but once I started asking questions, the Filipino looking man started giving me a lot of attitude. He quickly became very rude and dismissive about my concerns. I told him to go ahead and take the carpet away, while I consider what to do. After researching, I confirmed that I was correct. Steam cleaning is not a good idea for wool/cotton carpets, so I called RAM immediately and told them not to do anything with my carpet and just return it to me. Which they did after one week and dumping it in my living room with no regards. In conclusion, if you value your precious Persian carpets at all, do not use RAM for this service unless you want to be fleeced and get terrible service and attitude. I WILL NEVER EVER USE THESE IDIOTS FOR ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. I RECOMMEND DOING SOME RESEARCH ON OTHER COMPANIES. YOU WILL LIKELY END UP SHELLING OUT MORE BANANAS, BUT AT LEAST YOU WON'T GET MONKEYS.
