And although I fly every other week - there is still something different every time! I used to use my Boots points to pick up shampoo, toothpaste, etc... after the security checks but one day - no Boots! But, was I left out in the cold? Nope, because a Superdrug had appeared out of nowhere! I'm a bit boots loyal, but hey - a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. So I wandered around the unfamiliar shelves of Superdrug and was pleasantly surprised to find all my favourite brands - most on special offer! So nice that the high street deals and prices are the same inside the airport. Being new, it was clean and shiny and well stocked. All in all, a successful and pleasant shopping experience and a great way to get full sized toiletries into your carry on (and most airlines allow a bag of items purchased in the airport so if your carry on is stuffed you're still good to go). Now I just need to sort out a Superdrug loyalty card.

It's also seconds away from Stockbridge Medical practice, which is super duper handy. I didn't have a long wait, and staff were really friendly. What I liked most about Stockbridge Pharmacy is that they've got lovely little gifts around the shop like bath bombs and candles. During my wait I had a browse and a sniff which made the wait fly by. The products all seem to be of a high quality, and I can see myself popping in for the hot cinnamon candle which is just perfect for the festive season. The pharmacy is also very well-organised, which makes it as easy as possible to find what you're after. If you were caught short and needed a gift pronto then you could definitely find something here. I've just recently started a long term prescription. - This will be my pick-up pharmacy!

Thr pharmacy sells their own brand wipes, nappies,etc which are also ideal if you are still looking for good quality stuff without having to cough up high Street prices. Of course normal prescriptions are free, though what you get on top of that is a familiar face every time you go in. The whole team make a point of knowing their customers and for local people I'm sure it is a good start for being on the mend and one of the best remedy.

The shop, although not the most fully stocked of chemists, is neatly arranged with the essential cures to most mild aches, pains and illnesses. I came here last year for a lightweight support bandage when my ankle was giving me some trouble from rugby. It was equally cheap and did the trick. Newington Parmacy offers friendly, sympathetic service and a pretty good range of products, making it a viable alternative to the well known pharmaceutical giants on the high street.

When you come in here, you'll always get a nod, hello, smile or all of the above, but then you're left to browse for whatever it is you're after without being spied on or made to feel awkward. It's quite nice when you go in to pick up a pack of strepsils and lemsip, for the flu you invariably get living in Edinburgh over winter, and they actually notice you're ill, and tell you they hope you feel better or recommend a particular flavour of herbal tea they swear by etc etc. It's a bit like buying medicines from your Granny. The only downside, in fact, is that sometimes because it's quite small there isn't often a huge selection of things to choose from, so sometimes you do need to trudge further up the street to Boots or Tesco. After being used to London queues and long waits at the pharmacy, I was happy to wait just a few minutes here! It also scores highly on convenience being within the Uni campus. The only downside is that it is quite small and I feel like I will bump something over inside since space is so tight. That said, they have three pharmacists for this tiny space so are highly efficient, and they stock all the basics.
