I can't wait, after searching and getting quotes on Yelp, I based my selection on credible positive reviews and chose Phan Auto Repair shop in Mira Mesa. I usually go to bigger established shops, but sometimes those shops are notorious for being dishonest about parts and labor costs $$$$. And every time I take my car to a dealer for repairs, they want to buy my current car and sell me a new car, which is their mission, other than overcharge. This shop is in Mira Mesa, not fancy by any means: the waiting area was very dirty, no air conditioning, and not enough space as the seats were crammed up. My objective was to drop off my car for brakes repair and dash out. There were 3 guys working at Phan, I spoke to Dave and Lai. I had previously texted via Yelp and their response was faster than their competitors, in fact a shop across the street quoted me $300-$400 more!! They answered all my questions, concerns and after 4 hours, installed OEM brake routers, pads and sensors on my MBZ. During that time, I took a Lyft to UTC and watched a 3 hrs movie: Odyssey, had lunch and shopped. Shortly thereafter, I got a call saying my car was ready. Upon paying, I made sure my receipt clearly included a warranty. Be aware there is a 3% fee if you pay with a credit card. But I was glad new brakes routers, pads and scensors were installed at a reasonable price. Thanks to Yelp and Yelpers reviews about this shop. Glad there is no brake squeak and will keep my fingers crossed about this recent brake work as I had an overall positive experience from this great shop Phan's Auto Repair.

I had a great experience with Alex at Value Auto Repair. I originally reached out through Yelp, and he was responsive and answered all of my questions. His pricing was significantly better than what the dealership quoted me, but what really stood out wasn't just the price--it was his honesty. I came in with a humming noise that I believed was a bad wheel bearing but was unsure. Alex was upfront from the beginning after making the same diagnosis and even encouraged me to get quotes from other mechanics if it made me feel more comfortable so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal. That kind of confidence and transparency is hard to find. When I arrived, he was able to get my car in within about 30 minutes to diagnose it. While the part was being delivered, I went to lunch, and once I came back, he had the wheel bearing replaced in about 45 minutes. Before I left, he took the time to show me both the old and new wheel bearings, explaining how they worked and letting me hear and feel the difference. In my experience, his attentiveness and honesty were well displayed by the fact that he took on a job and did it on time for an extremely fair price. Cleaning out an exhaust gas recirculation system is something a lot of garages simply don't want to do, and will become dishonest when facing a request to do so. I have experienced this with some businesses for whom I have left appropriate reviews detailing as much. One business even immediately tried to convince me that an engine replacement was obviously necessary. 2 days ago, a 304 code was showing that my fourth cylinder was misfiring for some reason. Mr cisneros took the time to comply with my request to examine my EGR system and confirmed that the first three intake manifold ports were blocked significantly, routing an overflow of air to the fourth cylinder and causing that misfire. A combination of free code readings and YouTube videos and a replacement of spark plugs not solving the issue made this EGR clean out a very likely solution to my problem. Indeed, I have gone from about 35 miles per gallon and a knocking engine at low accelerating RPMs yesterday to over 50 miles per gallon and an engine that purrs ever so gently if audible at all today. I was pretty sure of the problem and the solution, but Mr cisneros is the person who made it possible. I can't recommend his services enough, and I hope that other people have a chance to enjoy the same experience that I did! My dented Prius has 200,000 miles on the odometer, but thanks to Mr Cisneros, it's still a young car.

When I asked why they charge so much more, there answer was quote, "Our name suggests we specialize in BMW and Mercedes, we can work on other makes but it would be the Euro pricing." Unquote. I respected that they did not upcharge after my quote, I paid exactly what my quote was. Other autoshops seemed to want more and their quotes were just the minimum price. Second time I brought it in for diagnosis and inspection and they quickly found that all I needed was oil change. They were kind enough to give a significant discount for the inspection fee. They seem to be good in telling you what needs to be fixed and not overcharging or telling you stuff needs done when it's fine
