I FINALLY FOUND MY MECHANIC! I am really into cars. I grew up in a family business centered around auto body and mechanical repair. I'm very aware of what's wrong with any car, what needs to be done, and how much it should cost. I've just come to accept being ripped off a little bit. I randomly found this shop because of an old corvette that the owner was selling. I immediately liked the guy. The first time i gave Jorge a car to diagnose, he told me exactly what's wrong with it, why it's not the more expensive problem, and he charged me slightly less than I expected. Since then, he's fixed a few cars for me, and helped me add 115 horsepower to my V8 daily driver. All his mechanics are nice, their work is clean, done quickly and well worth it. Well, where do I start. It is hard to find a good honest mechanic, that is why I stated tinkering on my car myself. I took on a timing belt repair which was beyond my skill set. It could have actually ended in disaster. But I looked on the Internet and found Llama Auto Repair, not only did Jorge answer the phone every time I called he listened to my entire situation. Our family was returning to Bay area from LA from a vacation, my van had break issues and Jorge was very professional and gave the best advice for fixing my front and back break pads. I'm so glad I found this place. I left work on Friday night and my car wouldn't start. Great. I woke up Saturday morning and checked out Next Door app for recommendations. There were several but I really liked what people had to say about Jorge and I saw he was only a mile from my house too. I had my car towed to his shop at around 11. I was really hoping he could fix it that day because I had to work again on Sunday but his shop closed at 3....so fingers crossed. Jorge gave me a ride home and I waited to hear from him. He called at 2:30 with not so great news. He needed more time to diagnose the problem. He thought it was a bad starter but there were other issues with the diagnostic test. Something about the throttle body p 2111. Stuff I don't understand at all, lol. I was bummed but what are you gonna do? Imagine my surprise when Jorge called me at 6 to tell me my car was ready! Turns out the parts dealer brought the wrong starter and he stayed 3 hours past his closing time to finish my car! Who does that? He cleaned and replaced the terminal connector thingies on my battery too because they were corroded. No charge. What??
