Second of all, the customer service of everyone we encountered was exactly what we all remember customer service being like back in the good old days. From Wes himself down to the guys who delivered the wood, everyone seemed happy in their job and it reflected in their attitudes towards us. We also ordered wood from two other places, but Wes Vice's wood was the easiest to work with because the lines were clean and straight and the edges fit together perfectly whereas the other stuff required some finagling to get it to fit right and stay straight. What really won us over though, was a miscommunication regarding the cut of our wood. It wasn't what we thought we had ordered. When we expressed that to Scott, he and his team picked up the wood, brought it back to the shop, recut the edges the way we wanted them, and redelivered the wood to our house all without charging us AND with a positive attitude. The way they handled the whole process was top notch. We will be ordering ALL future wood from these guys not just because of the awesome customer service, but also because of the quality of the wood and cut.

Went in to buy a router bit. It turned into an ordeal. They Couldn't find the key to router bit case. The woman goes to answer the phone leaving me standing at the case. She takes multiple calls and waits on two customers. I'm still waiting. A employee sees me standing at the case and asks if he can help me. I say Yes, I need that bit. He unlocks the case and hands me the bit. I walk over to pay for it. The woman asks me how I got in the case. I tell her. She freaks out and leaves to go find who gave me the bit. I left and went to Lowe's for router bit. Go back for a custom piece of S4S poplar board. Talk to a guy in the back who writes what I need on a piece of paper and tells me to have the woman at front desk to price it. The woman interprets the note incorrectly. I tell her what I want. She says that's not what is written on the paper. I say Fine and tell her what I want. She then starts asking me again what I want. I start telling her. She talks over me before I can finish the answer then asks again what I want. I then change my tone, body posture and volume to say, "Ms I've been telling you what I need. You aren't listening. Please stop talking over me and listen". She stands up says "You're a man, this happens a lot. I'll go get my husband so you can talk man to man" I walk out. I won't go back there no matter they might have what I need. Poor customer service skills.

My experience was quite different. I walked through the store, stopping along the way to take a closer look at several items. There were several other customers in the store being attended by sales personnel. No one spoke to me until I was just steps away from exiting through the front door. Bottom line: I had a delightfully productive shopping experience with a helpful and charming salesman.

I found out that my future father in law had quite a few of them. So he gave me one. So today I returned the one I bought yesterday. This is where it gets good. So, they tell me that they're going to charge me a 10% restock fee. I got a little upset, but decided okay, I can deal with that. Okay, you ready for this, then they tell me that they'll have to write me a check. I even said okay to that, even though I paid them in cash. Then the cashier says it won't be until next Friday. Today is Thursday. So then she gets Troy on the phone who happens to be a manager I guess. I tell him he just list a customer. He didn't care. I told him I'm going to post this fiasco all over the internet, he didn't care. So, I guess that let's you know how they feel about their customers. I'm 53 years old. The last helping us was named Diane, she helped us with our needs when we described what we had in mind. We were thinking of 12x12 or 20x20 square tiles. Diane brought us up to date on what the current trends were and we picked out a 12x24 white tile with hints of marbleing that wouldn't be slick when it was wet! She also helped with a grout to go with our floor and we were thinking very dark after what we went through on our last floor. Diane recommended a dark gray and we thought it would look good also! They came in on a Monday morning and got the old vinyl removed in short order. It wasn't long that the installer Johnny was laying the tile down! He finished late afternoon and said he would be back the next morning to do the grout after the mortar for the time had time to set. Johnny was back promptly at 8:30am the next morning and had the grout completed in no time at all!!! We are very, very happy with the way our new kitchen floor looks. I would highly recommend the folks at Porter's Carpet and Flooring! We had a great experience with them.
