She is incredibly sweet, takes her time, and truly listens. I'm used to going into a salon, explaining what I want or showing a photo and just hoping for the best, but not this time. Alondra made me feel like we were creating the perfect cut together. She included me in the process, which made me feel confident and completely at ease. She's also very knowledgeable and gave me great tips on how to care for my specific hair type. The salon itself is spotless and well organized. The front desk associate, whose name I didn't catch, was warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was calm and peaceful. It was such a refreshing experience. I can't wait to come back for a gloss and another cut when I'm ready for my next trim. This place is absolutely worth every penny. They're also very affordable for the quality of service provided. I paid $500 the last time I got my hair done elsewhere, and it didn't even come close to the results I got at Fuma Salon.

As soon as I arrived, I was warmly greeted and given a locker to securely store my belongings, which I really appreciated. I was then promptly taken for a relaxing hair wash before being seated at my station to have my hair dried. Kyunghee took the time to listen to what I wanted. I asked for curtain bangs and long layers, and she absolutely delivered. The cut was exactly to my liking--soft, flattering, and very well balanced. The Harlot Salon is one of my favorite salons here in Los Angeles, I would even dare say my…read morefavorite at this point. Definitely my go to every time i've gotten a haircut, needed a touch up or wanted some type of sexy, edgier looking change. Appointment based and specialized in an upscale edgier vibe, the entire team of hairdressers, stylist and colorists is incredibly talented (and cool). I have seen a few of them in action, including Jess, Angelique, Viper, Georgia, Maeve and of course Lydia and Marylle who have worked on my hair personally, and the results have always been remarkable and have looked stunning on everyone i've had the pleasure to see them work their magic on. I've gotten my color done by Lydia and it was an incredible experience, she's great at what she does as well as very fun to talk to. Owned by Marylle, a queer woman from Holland, who is a master at her craft and an artist with the razor, who I've cut my hair with every time i've gone in for a haircut, and she has never once missed in what will look good. Have left looking extremely chic and to be honest, just hot, when I have gone in for a haircut. It's definitely a place that people who have a little bit of spunk in them will love. It will resonate with those who like or have a more avant-garde, pure rock, edgier upscale vibe or are drawn to it. Although they are undeniably great at what they do and can rock simple and more toned down haircuts, colors and styles, the elevated edge is where they truly shine. This salon definitely calls to people who have a more norm defiant spirit or enjoy the energy of those who do. All who work there have an inspiring sort of fearless energy to them, they aren't afraid to be themselves and embrace being different. Really cool people and very fun to talk to. The salon in itself is well decorated, very clean, which I personally appreciate and just overall has a very cool vibe, it's always a good feeling to walk in to The Harlot and to just look around. Other than the talent and the overall feel of the place, I need to note and highlight their coffee lol it is genuinely just top tier, which personally I really appreciate. Definitely would recommend for anyone who has the budget and is looking for an incredible team for their hair. I would trust all of them to do an incredible job. Obviously, it would depend on what you want, but knowing their extensive experience, and what I have personally seen them do when i've been in the salon I can honestly recommend their quality of work. If you are looking to take a little bit of a risk, are open to trying something new and you just have a general vibe of what you want, I would absolutely recommend asking for their input on what could look good on you and what would work best with your features, have a reference pic for the vibe you're going for, for sure, but they all have a great eye and taste and will thrive on making you look your best. Depending on your style and what you want, different stylists could be the right fit, but one thing I don't doubt is that you will leave looking stunning. Hair is obviously a delicate thing, and for most of us it's a big part of feeling good, not only looking good. And those two are different things, so just in general be mindful of that. Don't ask for something too out there if you're not ready for it, cause even though it might look great you might not feel like it, especially if you're used to your hair looking a certain way for a long time, so, if you do decide to just let them do their thing, be sure to be prepared for it mentally. You will objectively look great coming out of the salon but might not feel it if you're not ready to rock a different look than you're used to, but that is just a general reality irregardless of the person cutting your hair or the salon you go to. Saying this because they are definitely very talented individuals who work at the salon, but The Harlot does specialize on a certain kind of look and hair, so make sure it's the right fit for you like you would with any other place. They're for sure some of the best out here in LA at what they do, guaranteed. If it's your vibe, you'll definitely love it and come back again :)

They're happy to help with parking recommendations and always offer water or other drinks while you wait, which really adds to the overall experience. The atmosphere is warm, accommodating, and genuinely inviting. I've been going to Andrew for cut and color for several years now, and he is an absolute magician. After spending over a decade with the same stylist, it was intimidating to switch, but I kept seeing reviews that mentioned Andrew and his incredible skills in both cut and color. I trusted those reviews--and I'm so glad I did. My husband and I have both been going to Andrew for years now, and we're extremely loyal clients because there's simply no need to look elsewhere. I get a cut every few months and a balayage about once a year, and it lasts forever. The color grows out beautifully and still looks intentional months later, which is rare and such a testament to his skill. His cuts are just as impressive--effortless, flattering, and easy to maintain. Andrew truly is one of the best cut and color stylists out there, and I recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for either service. Since I originally found him through reviews, it feels especially meaningful to be able to leave one now so others can discover him too--and walk out looking absolutely fabulous!

I don't want to come off as a difficult…read morecustomer, but I think my complaint is perfectly fair and it does need to be shared with others since I did pay quite a bit to have my hair ruined and I honestly have no clue how to fix it besides shaving it all off TL;DR: Cutler stylist who kept smoking weed during our appointment was unknowledgable about doing blond hair and overcharged me for an unfinished service: paid ~$650. Her mistake doesn't seem to be reversible and now I'm stuck with terrible hair Long story: I initially went to Cutler since they advertised razor cutting and I wanted the previous razor cut I had gotten in another city. The stylist wasn't particularly amiable and didn't give me the razor technique or style I wanted, but it was just a cut, so whatever. Then I messaged another Cutler colorist on instagram to have my blond roots touched up. She quoted me $550 and recommended I let her do highlights instead of my standard bleach and tone to look "more natural" because she thought my solid blond looked fake. She insisted that she could give me the great bright blond I wanted with highlights only and that I would not have the "salt and pepper" gray-effect hair I was concerned about- blond strands on dark hair. Since she was the professional, I took her professional advice and let her proceed During the appointment, I noticed I was double booked. She kept leaving to work on another's hair while I had bleach and foils in mine. This made me nervous since she wasn't checking the processing time much and didn't communicate with me about what she was doing. She also didn't speak to me, no niceties or new customer introductions for the entire appointment. The experience felt cold just like the last appointment I had with the other stylist. I hadn't experienced that in the decade of getting my hair blonded at various salons. It was very unusual to have two stylists at Cutler not do any friendly small talk with their new client, but I'm not very chatty anyway and chair manner isn't a deal breaker for me. What was really wild was that she kept disappearing to SMOKE WEED in the back with other staff Then when I got home, I realized that she only did half of my hair. HALF! So the bottom half was completely undone with dark virgin roots and I paid $650 with tip. I did not ask for this, it was a complete surprise. So with the cost of the cut and color, I paid nearly $1000 at Cutler Salon to get my hair back to the hair style I like and they completely missed the mark in both skill and customer service Needless to say, I didn't return. I trusted this Cutler stylist's expertise and continued getting the highlights service she had recommended hoping to get my bright blond back. It hasn't worked like she said. I now have the aging, salt and pepper hair I expressed concern about. I feel ugly, unconfident, and embarrassed to let my hair down. I keep it up most days because I don't know how to fix the overpriced highlights this salon gave me. I feel completely stuck and now I don't know what to do besides keeping the gray look, shaving it off, or dying it dark and spending a few years to grow it out. None of those options are great. This salon has "upscale" pricing and a great online presence that can easily dupe people into thinking they're a luxury salon that's exceptionally skilled with hair, but if you're looking for a new salon to trust with your blond, don't make it Cutler. Don't make the same mistake I did. Look elsewhere.
