We used Living Solar originally for a small PV system and were happy enough to use Ben Jason again for a much larger system and that was our mistake. The new system had major electrical issues that the owner, Ben, refused to diagnose. He would not answer emails or phone calls. Finally after 9 months of no action, we diagnosed the problem ourselves, found the problem was a faulty junction box and replaced the box and wiring. We have had no issues since. Ben not only refused to do this work, he refused to refund us the cost the replacement box and wiring. My advise is: DO NOT USE HIM! He only cares about new customers and the payment they make. Warranty work is of no concern, the same as customer satisfaction. We know someone else had the same issues and they had to hire a different solar installer to fix Living Solar shoddy install and products. read more

My solar system went down due to some faulty wiring in a junction box. I called and emailed Ben Jason at least 14 times without response. I have heard from other people that same story. Luckily another company (flatrock solar) came out and fixed the substandard work. I have heard that his excuse is that he is too busy to deal with residential problems now. In my opinion I do not think he honors his commitment to his customers. I would not recommend him or his company. read more

Living Solar installed a 4.2 kw double tracker system at my Durango farm in 2004. System was comprised of 24 - Sony 170w panels; 12 panel on each of 2 Watsun trackers; tied together to 2 Fronius inverters. Ben Jason, the Owner, personally installed the system and completed application paperwork to sell renewal energy credits (RECs). Had cold weather problems with the Watsun trackers not tracking in very cold temperatures. Ben made many trips on his dime to troubleshoot the problem. After much back and forth with Watsun...they replaced both tracker heads...system now works perfectly. Added 12 - SunPower 315 w panels andinverter to the system to fully generate our load. System is net metered. We have been very happy with the system and with Living Solar. So much so that I hired them to install a 14 kw SunPower system on my New Mexico office building. We're a retired couple who built our own home near Cortez. After enjoying the house for several years, we decided we could add PV power. Living Solar carefully and thoroughly educated us about grid-tied vs off-grid, the panels and equipment available and the best choices to accomplish what we wanted. We chose grid-tied because it is zero maintenance (other than hosing off the panels once in a while if you choose). Though there were lower bids, we selected Living Solar for their reputation, the quality of equipment they proposed and that thorough approach to providing our proposal. Their installation was very professional and careful, taking into consideration all our wishes, comments and requirements. They took care of all the paper work to quickly get our rebates. The result has operated flawlessly for 8 months and provided the power advertised when the weather cooperated. We planned for more power than we needed with a possible electric car or hot tub in the future, so it's great to watch the meter spin backward and be paid by Empire Electric. It's also fun to have an attractive meter readout indoors on our office wall as well as the ability to access our power generation status and history online from anywhere via smart phone or internet connected pc/tablet. Overall we couldn't be more pleased with the job Living Solar did for us. read more
