Initially they did not return my emails or phone calls inquiring about their services. Finally I was able to schedule an appointment. They insisted on a "site visit" prior to the actual work, even though I knew that I had all the pieces and knew exactly what needed to happen. So, unfortunately, I scheduled the site visit, and immediately they began a litany of messages about the appointment, cost for said visit, what would happen if I needed to cancel or reschedule, what i would be charged if i needed to cancel within 24 hours, etc. The "site visit" took ten minutes during which the technician verified what i had already told them over the phone. they charged an astronomical rate (approximately $500 an hour) for this (what other companies do for free.) What's worse is that the estimate was also unbelievably high--I think my mouth fell open when I saw it--more than twice what I expected to pay for this particular job. More texts and emails about paying for the estimate started a few minutes after departure of the technician, the first one immediately, the second one 3 hours later. I finally blocked all messages and emails after continuing emails about scheduling the actual work, which I had someone else do for a third of the price. Noooo thank you. read more

Was going to have a stove put in that was purchased from a different seller and thought it was great that they would be able to install the unit as long as everything was new. So we had them come and do a estimate for the install, thought it was a little high so I remembered that they install outside parts so look online and found the pipes for cheaper. but Sean said that we had to have the right parts when they show up for the install and if it's not the right parts that we will be charged the labor price for the job for the day which they quoted 1,500. So again that's the penalty for the installer to say that if all the parts aren't there or if there not the right one. So I called Sean back to get his expert opinion on which kit I needed for the roof, once he heard that we where going to buy pipes form different place he's tone change over the phone and said that he didn't know what kit wound work and that was not his expertise to know. So after that disappointed conversation I well not do business with them and be penalized 1,500 every time they show up and we don't have the right parts. read more

Never expected to have someone show up to our home several hours early after setting an appointment for mid-afternoon. Luckily there was someone home, but since there were still a few coals left from a fire the evening before, the technician belittled my wife in front of our guest and made her feel dumb. To add insult to injury we got nailed with a charge for him showing up at the wrong time and being unable to work, before we could empty the fire place and let it rest. The good news is, we had plans to replace the entire fireplace and surround in spring and now we know whom not to use. Customer service is number one, always. Its is a shame that they have so much business they seem to have forgotten that. read more

I purchased a stove in September, they finished the job in November. Apparently office staff change over, confusion, covid,...who knows. But the job in finally done. Went to pay the final invoice by credit card since I actually live several states away and they charge 3.5%. That's $35 per $1000! That's ridiculous! Especially on a large purchase. Our propane gas heating stove was not working correctly after a plumber came to fix it and 2 days later we couldn't get the pilot to stay lit. Made an appointment with business and they showed up a little before 2pm. The expected arrival time was between 2-3pm. They were very professional & basically took the stove apart & found all kinds of things wrong. Excessive carbon build up, the silicone that was used turned to marshmellows & was not heat resistant, the air vent to the chimney had been closed & the thermostat was not hooked up. Wow, do they know their stuff! He completely cleaned up the mess, had to put the old pilot assembly back in as the new one installed was not working correctly. He was organized, knew what was going on & fixed my heating stove completely. This guy was sharp & he is the dealer for Lopi stoves in the 4 corners. Will never use anyone else as this is the company you want working on your stove. Trust me. read more

I just purchased a very expensive gas insert; wanted to change my mind to a pellet stove, but the owner informed me that I would be charged a 30% charge for not taking the stove I ordered. The measurement of the stove was wrong, and the outside rim is asymmetrical. The stove has been in my house for 3 weeks and still puts out a horrible odor that's truely messing with my asthma to the point where I really can't stand to be in the house. Beware! Worst business I have ever dealt with in Durango, and I have lived here 11 years. They came to clean my chimney, damaged the unit, and would not fix their mistake. After two months of contacting the owner, he kept lying and said the part would be ordered and fixed. He even set up a time to meet at my house to replace the part, and never showed. They screen their phone calls, barely ever answer, and no one even works in their shop next to Bread. You have to schedule a meeting during their business hours for someone to show up.
