Here is someone who actually is a guide for living disguised as a movement and fitness class trainer. Heath emphasizes body awareness, best practices, patience, and not taking anything too seriously. He is a kind, gentle, and precise instructor with a good sense of humor. In any of his classes, he seamlessly blends modalities like qi gong, tai chi, pilates, and circuit training. His exercises are simple, but he has designed them to produce complex results.
Personal story: I initially came in because I was injured and needed a class that was gentle, but would get me stronger. Heath catalyzed my recovery, got me in shape, and developed a lot of strength in the supporting areas to my injury. As a yogi, I find his approach extremely refreshing and complementary to my yoga practice. I first noticed a big change after attending Heath's classes twice a week for three weeks. I've now spent several months attending regularly, and continue to improve, learn, and enjoy the classes.
Bottom Line: When you're working with Heath, you're getting big city quality with small town pricing-- a great value. And my goodness, is he valuable.
As of Dec 2019, you can find him teaching group classes for functional movement at Sacred Space Studio and Ojai Yoga Shala, but note that he is not a yoga teacher. He does personal training 1-on-1. read more
