On top of all that the Christmas Fair is going on from 24 Oct thru Christmas... and it faces the entrance of the Queensland Tunnel. Although it has the chance to be mobbed by careless youth, it just as much has the ability to be a place for serenity - given the opportunity and time.

They have a stage area if you wish to have a musician or a compare, they have a great dance floor area for those who aren't blessed with two left feet like myself, and they have a huge fully stocked bar for those who just want to get twatted. The catering was fantastic, I'm not sure if it's provided by an in house company that the venue use regularly, but I would imagine so! The surroundings are great if you fancy a walk in their acres and acres of beautiful parkland, which is reassuring being in a fairly rough, built up area, it's nice to know that there are still some green spaces without high rises and dole offices! I'm not sure what he rental cost is for this venue, but I know that they often employ staff for events through Liverpool's Think Faces company, which is great as they vet their staff for experience and quality.

This is a lovely little station in North Wales, and much like many other North Wales stations, the beautiful Station House, which in this case is these wide and beautiful thick old style chimneys. It is actually known as one of the best stations in the whole of the UK because it's so pretty. Only one train comes through here an hour, but it's absolutely gorgeous, with a sculpture on the outside and a cute bridge and of course the beautiful white Station House. So all in all it's one of the best examples of a North Wales station, and almost feels like a nice welcoming home rather than just a station. It has a smaller building on the other side which looks a lot like the bigger one. And that's it.

Instead, we decided to scoot around on the paddle boards led by Clive and Charles. In all honesty, we had our doubts starting out. Squeezing into a wetsuit and buoyancy aid while hungover isn't the most fun start to a day, but within minutes C & C had us laughing and in the water. It's pretty easy to get the hang of, and if you're scared of water it's easy to stay on the board while you are seated/kneeling. Naturally, as a stag party we basically degenerated into knocking each other into the water which was a lot of fun. The showers after were top notch too, high pressure and hot hot hot! Highly recommended

The rangers are really good, they clearly care about the area and the wildlife and take pride in their job. I visited recently having strolled along Caldy shore; it hasn't changed a bit! There's still the same poster stands and baskets of erasers and pencils, the dog shaped donation box and the room full of taxidermy! I think it's great that it's unchanged, however perhaps a little modernisation would encourage more visitors. The country park, the trails and the visitor centre are so peaceful, it's just lovely.

I'm not sure if they still do, but they used to run a course for kids called 'Junior Rangers' every Saturday. This was great fun, I went for years and really enjoyed it as a way to see the woods and countryside and make new friends.
