Uncle Earl's has transformed itself from the loud, college crazed, packed pick up bar of the 2000s,…read moreand has grown into a mature destination for young professionals. I had not been in some time, my last few experiences were filled with drunk kids at the bar and I figured it was a place I was too old for. But recently, I went in after work to meet with some friends, and the place certainly had a glow-up. They have a decent wine selection, and the cocktails were on point. The bar is clean and I like the different levels. The lushly decorated outdoor area is comfortable and a nice way to relax and enjoy conversation. And everyone who worked there was helpful and engaging. We also attended a Galentines Day event recently, and that was a great way to expose new people and those who had been away to the location. Delicious catering items were spread throughout the space. While I likely will avoid any large scale events there, it is nice option for grabbing a drink after work or attending a special event. Of course a note about parking.... because the area is separated by a fence, it is a little dicey. You can park in the lot on the other side of the fence and walk around, or you can drive to the back behind the building. Please be aware of your surroundings if doing so as it is pretty remote back there.

When I walked in the atmosphere was a bit boring..... anyone could basically go behind the bar and drink if you knew the managers. NEARLY EVERYONE who was serving me was underage, one girl even told me she had just turned 21... I was a bit uncomfortable with that. The drinks are overpriced... What bar doesn't serve Titos? The worst part about it every time i went in the bathroom most of the employees would be sniffing drugs.. like what type of bar are you guys running ? This bar needs to be shut down.... Let me update my review since it's being misconstrued and talked about . This review has NOTHING to do with anyone that worked at this bar. I've worked in a bar 12+ plus years ! I know how old you have to be to serve and yes that's correct it's 18 . Drinking and serving underage is highly illegal and I saw both of those things . Along with the drugs in the bathroom . My review still stands and no it's not biased . It's a great atmosphere but it needs to be ran the correct way .

Again, this is by far the best experience I've had with renting an event space. I will be back.

We booked 2 rooms as Marriott members months in advance. We arrived to a clean cool nicely decorated room. I wish I took a picture of the view but it okay truly nothing remarkable about it. Highway view on the 14th floor. Yup over looking the murky pool and stores in the area. The front desk hospitality I appreciated as we were welcomed and allowed to check in early. The restaurant offers menu and buffet breakfast. Servers were pleasent and keep the coffee flowing. Mostly we opened to eat in town, because THIS IS LOUSIANA!! I would love to return with more time and stay closer to the downtown area as it offers so much more. Traffic is horrific using the GPS. yes Horrific traffic in the University area. The hotel is comfortable, staff at check im were attentive and friendly. The restaurant had hot breakfast buffett as well as menu to order from. Drinks at the bar were tasty amd professionally made. I would definitely return to this Matriott next time im Baton Rouge.

The Marriott happened to be convenient when I was in town for my work Christmas Party. I have passe this hotel hundreds of times and the reviews always made me stay elsewhere. But damn the reviews were wrong. This is a nice hotel. I stayed on the club level. The rooms here appear larger and have a wall of windows. The view of the interstate from this high up was pretty great if you like that sort of thing. I do, and the road noise was minimal because the room was so high up. The bar is fully stocked but expect hotel bar prices. You will spend a fortune if you drink here for a while but it was a great meeting place for our group. There is no lounge access on weekends but you will get a free voucher for breakfast. At $31.99, that voucher is much appreciated. If you don't have the voucher, I would skip breakfast. It is good but Louie's isn't that far and is far superior. If you are staying in BR, consider this hotel. It is nice.
