We got our 6 month old border collie from a rescue shelter. She was very sweet but extremely scared…read moreof everything. Couldn't walk her on a leash and no one could approach her without her peeing and getting into submission mode. Later she walked on a leash but pulled like crazy. It was no fun walking her. We wanted to help her but didn't know how. We were referred to Elena a dog trainer who someone we worked with said it helped her dog. We inquired about her program and it was a lengthy 21 days and it was higher than the amount we were thinking of spending. We needed to do something though and decided to pay the money and help this sweet dog live a more normal life and help us with the stress of her issues. We decided to do it on a vacation time where we would have had to pay for the 10 days we were away to have someone watch her it helped with our issues on the cost. We are so glad we did. Our dog is so much better now. She walks on a leash very well but walks off leash even better. She listens and follows our commands very well. Shes a completely different dog. Elena did an incredible job training our dog and I would recommend her program to anyone. You won't regret it.

Sage is a Goldendoodle puppy and has many of the typical Doodle traits: playful, hyper, and mischievous. Often, these traits could end in a stressful or embarrassing scene--either she was pouncing on our neighbor's 4-year-old son, being growled at by older dogs who didn't want to play like she did, or would think that "Come" was a game where she could run away. Elena transformed our dog in two weeks, all while ensuring Sage's playful and sweet personality endured. Sage can now sit on her bed while we have neighbors over, calmly walk by children and dogs, and run to us when we say "come" even if she is 20 feet away. All of her "crazy" is gone and what remains is a beautiful, well-mannered puppy. This is all due to Elena's talent, patience, and skill. What really impressed me (and believe me, I was already thoroughly impressed by Elena) was how Elena trained Sage to be well-behaved in the airport. I fly often to visit my family in Florida, so it was important to me that I could take Sage with me on my trips. Elena brought Sage to Newark Airport and rode with her on the AirTran and got her near security and the crowds. When I flew with Sage this week, she went through the metal detector by herself, walked perfectly throughout security and until the gate, and stayed in "Place" for the three hour flight at my feet. She was perfect--and she never would have been able to do this without Elena. This training gives my dog more freedom to live a better life. She can now come with me to many more events than she ever could have pre-training. I now look forward to walking her, when before I would dread who Sage would jump on. I enjoy Sage more and our bond is deeper. If you want a well-behaved dog that still maintains its beautiful personality, Elena is your trainer!!!!

Javier,…read moreour Australian Labradoodle, has been going to My Dogs Got Class since he was around 10 weeks old and has been thriving in these programs. Since he was young when we started, we first spoke with our vet to confirm they were okay with him going and under their guidance we planned his vaccines accordingly. Our vet also praised us for starting classes at an early age as these programs help lay down the foundation for a well-mannered and happy pup and also strength our bond. While participating in the puppy programs offered at My Dogs Got Class Javier has had early exposure to training and socialization. The trainers help to break down lessons into bite-sized chunks which makes it easy for us and Javi to absorb and remember. The incremental learning approach, focusing on name recall, collar/harness handling, and coming when called, is invaluable. We are confident that should any emergency situation ever occur, we are prepared to safely reunite with Javi. The trainers knowledge and informative guidance have built my trust in them. They make every session a joy and have helped us navigate any bad behaviors and offer us guidance on how to correct them. The socialization aspect is also fantastic; Javier gets to interact with other dogs and foster proper play behavior while a trained expert watches over. Our puppy's newfound skills are a testament to the effectiveness of the puppy programs offered at My Dogs Got Class. If you're looking to set your new puppy up for a lifetime of good behavior and happiness, the puppy programs at My Dogs Got Class is the way to go!

Our dog, Chance, was having some less than…read moredesirable behaviors that we wanted to improve, primarily his interactions with unfamiliar people (whether they were entering our home or encountered out in public, such as daily walks) or with unfamiliar objects in the home (cardboard boxes from packages) in addition to overall general training (listening to commands, proper walking - not pulling us around the block!). Jenna was able to quickly ascertain that the behaviors mainly stemmed from Chance's lack of self-confidence (resulting in fear aggression) and our sessions focused on building Chance's confidence as well as rewarding and reinforcing positive behaviors. Jenna helped us (as Chance's owners) to better understand how our own previous reactions in response to Chance's behaviors and the training methods we employed were at times counter-intuitive to helping Chance learn how to behave and respond to our commands. Armed with this knowledge and provided with training exercises to work on after each session that focused on specific behaviors (i.e. proper walking, responding to unfamiliar people, exploring boxes to not be so fearful of them), we saw a noticeable improvement in many areas. By the final session, friends and family members were also commenting on how much of a change they saw in Chance, which we can say for certain is a result of our time with Jenna! We would highly recommend Jenna's services to anyone looking for help in understanding their dog's challenging behaviors and how to help correct them or for general/basic training.

We've tried several trainers and boarding facilities in various cities and states. We even resorted to trying a famous YouTube trainer and he came back worse and even more anxious. Typically, these expensive "board and trains" we've participated in have ended with medication recommendations and a "good luck". One final trainer recommended we try Mind Of Dog because she also wasn't able to break through. I'm so grateful we did. He's thriving and comes home exhausted. An added bonus is the people training we've received. The best part of all of it, is that he's finally getting the exercise and structure he's always needed and deserves. They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs. We can finally go to work and travel without worrying that he's being mishandled or ignored. We're so grateful to have found this place and I have to admit, I was waiting for him to fail again, because we had lost all hope. I highly recommend that you give Mind Of Dog a shot, especially if you're in a similar position as we were. Thanks, Mind of Dog! Senna loves you all and is so grateful to be able to play with dogs without fear and anxiety.

We absolutely couldn't be happier with Linda at NJ Fix My Dog and the incredible transformation of…read moreour dog Millie. As first-time dog owners, we tried our best to train Millie on our own, but it just wasn't cutting it. We constantly struggled with obedience and her inability to listen to us, intense pulling when we went on walks, jumping, getting mouthy - the list goes on and on. We felt defeated and insecure - but as soon as we talked with Jean and Linda at NJ Fix My Dog, we felt hopeful! They assured us Millie was the kind of dog that could be helped, and they'd be happy to step in.  Throughout Millie's 2 week bootcamp, we received frequent updates from Linda on Millie's progress, photos, and videos. We missed her but we knew she was in excellent care and learning so much everyday. After the 2 week bootcamp, Linda brought Millie home and we were in shock at how well-behaved, and well-mannered suddenly became. The day she came home, Linda spent over an hour with us going over what Millie learned and how to work with her going forward. She also gave us a full document with an assessment of Millie's overall behavior, how to continue to enforce what she learned, and how encourage her along the way.  Before bootcamp, we dreaded going for a walk with Millie because of how she behaved when she saw other dogs (pulling toward them, whimpering, getting anxious, etc.), and how she walked in general (tugging and zig-zagging the entire walk). Now she walks like an absolute DREAM! Right at our side, a nice little trot, ignores other dogs, people, squirrels - everything! We could walk her all day long now, and we look forward to all our walks! Millie used to ignore us when we called for her, or told her "no" if she was doing something we didn't like, but now her recall skills are excellent and she runs right over to us when we call her. She doesn't even try to attempt the bad behavior she used to do, like jumping, getting mouthy, etc., and instead happily relaxes. Her overall demeanor used to be just a little bit intense, always on the lookout for something to get into - but now she is so calm and seems at east with herself. Linda worked WONDERS! We learned so much about Millie through this process, and we truly feel comfortable with what Linda taught us to help Millie be her best self. We feel like we have the tools we need, and the confidence. We feel the support of NJ Fix My Dog now even after Millie is back home - we know Linda is just a call or text away if we need any help.

We were seeking some help with our 13 week old Lab mix puppy's aggressive play issues…read more(nipping/biting) and other behavioral issues (walking well on leash, not dropping items off floor, ground, etc.). We were fully aware of what a puppy goes through at this age, however, we had never seen a puppy so independent/head strong before. Given we have two young daughters (9 & 5), we wanted to ensure our puppy established a solid behavior foundation. We found Jean & Fix My Dog after unsuccessfully working with a few different trainers online. Within the first 30 minutes of our session with Jean, we had already learned so much about both our new puppy's and our own behaviors. After the hour was over, we were very confident we had found the right place to help us with our puppy training. Given the current pandemic, we hoped to find a trainer that could not only help with the behavioral issues, but also socialize our pup well enough to other dogs, people, children, etc. As a result, Jean paired us up with Christy, a trainer who lives on a lot of land, has dogs and other animals, and plenty of people around to help socialize our pup. We spoke with Christy on the phone to go over her approach, felt great about it, came up with a list of behavioral focus areas, signed a contract, selected a day for Christy to come pick up our puppy, and off she went for 2 weeks! The training process was handled so well.. Christy kept us informed with photos, videos, and lots of daily updates. We were even able to do a few online video sessions to see our puppy and to ask questions about how the training was going. It was 100% clear that our puppy was getting the attention she needed and was being trained as part of a family and not as just another dog in a training facility. (SO IMPORTANT!) We were noticing tremendous progress with our puppy over videos after the first few days of training. When she returned home after the 2 weeks were up, it was almost as if we had a perfectly re-wired puppy. It was absolutely clear that the training was effective and our puppy now had a solid behavioral foundation to work with. Christy and her family were extremely loving with our dog, and were clearly able to address all of the behavioral points we asked for through positive reinforcement and appropriate correction practices. Upon her return, we received many instructional videos and a manual to keep us (owners) in line on how to maintain all of the great work put in place. If you were like us, seeking a trainer to help build a strong behavioral foundation for your puppy, I would HIGHLY recommend Christy @ NJ Fix My Dog. We simply could not have found a better situation both for us and our puppy.

Things are going great and we can't recommend GS K9 enough! This now opened more doors for him which we had him signed up for GDC training and sent to him off to train further with their top trainer. After completing his training for a month he was brought home by his trainer, and we were trained on how to continue on how he was trained repetitively. We discussed further training with his trainer that day about guard dog training, and he agreed that he would train him further and to call for scheduling. Now this is where things go not good. We have called multiple times to schedule with his trainer and we were told that they would get back to us. They did not get back to us and several weeks went by. We called again speaking with Lauren who assured me that they would call me back about guard dog training because she needed to speak with the owners about the schedule. No phone call was returned from her. So we called again and spoke with Danielle who informed that they were not doing any guard dog training, and they don't know when they will again! This is a K9 training facility that does all types of training! Why are we now being told that you Don't train for guard dogs when our personal trainer who had our pup at his training facility and trained him told us that you do? Then I asked if they could recommend another facility that trained for guard training and we were told that they would email several recommendations to us. Again they didn't send us any emails referring us to other facilities! Why after being with Garden State K9, and bringing our pup to their facility for training for months to graduate the S.T.A.R. Program so he could continue on working with this facility that trained for everything we were told by the way. As well as seen Private sessions with our trainer before we had our pup trained by him. On top of the Thousands of Dollars we have paid this facility and we never had a single problem. So we don't understand why they have treated us like this after so long training with them? We had no issues paying their fees for training and we would have gladly continued to pay for his training advancement fees. This is why we are Not sure as a rating. We gave 3 Stars for their great training. They lost 2 Stars because they treated us poorly we feel.
