Not competent and overcharged for work that did not even fix the problem. Misdiagnosed my car's problem completely, along with charging double his cost for the parts used. His response to me after failing to fix the problem was to suggest thousands of dollars in additional charges in what amounted to an expensive guessing game at my expense and risk, of course. Little's Garage is, well, little. But I've come to trust them in a way I rarely trust any business, and have actively referred people I know to their shop. I've seen them face a customer asking "why didn't you do an oil change today with the other repairs?" Their response? "You aren't due for one. It would be a waste of your money." A friend was quoted a high price for repairs at another shop, so I referred them to Little's, who proceeded to point out how the other shop was overpricing to try to take advantage of them. I will agree with other reviewers that the folks who run it know they're good at what they do, and that shows in their interactions with folks, and yeah sometimes with a bit of attitude. Personally, I'd rather someone be honest and trustworthy than overly sweet and ripping me off. Pro tip: you definitely have to schedule in advance as they're nearly always fully booked. The repairs were fixed correctly, and I enjoyed speaking with the lead mechanic; however; upon checkout I was asked to pay over $100 more than I had been quoted on paper, which was already $50 higher than estimated averages online for the same repair. I've never been to a shop where I was not called by the mechanic if they were going to go higher than their original estimate. I was not given notice before picking up my car that I would need additional funds, nor was there an explanation at the counter until I mentioned the difference. Common courtesy dictates making sure the customer has enough money to afford the job before you do the work. I am not sure if I will return to this shop for this reason. I do like the employees but this left me feeling shafted, so to speak. read more

I talked to Little's Garage, on the phone, and was assured replacing a timming belt would be $450 for everything. This included two other belts on the motor. My friend dropped the car off and was told she could have an up grade and the total would be $800. Anupgrade? What a scam. Unfortunately she didn't know better and agreed. I was livid when I heard this and confronted them when we picked up the car to no avail. They couldn't even tell me what the difference was between the price I was quoted and the upgrade. She was taken advantage of and they didn't care. As far as they were concerned she didn't know any better so let's take advantage of her. She trusted them and got burned. I will never come back here and urge you not to. If I could give them 0 stars I would. read more

This garage ruined my car. They changed the differential oil in my 3 yr old Subaru and a few days later on a long trip my car just stopped. I had it towed to a dealer and it turned out the lack of differential oil burned out the transmission. The dealer mechanic said it's hard to see how much oil to put in if you're not used to a Subaru and they gave me a loaner to drive home in while they replaced the tranny. I called Little's and the owner refused to take responsibility in any way. In fact he tried to make it sound like the dealer was just trying to get more money for a repair. New tranny $7000. read more

We had a coolant leak and wanted to change to get new pet friendly coolant at same time. Jeep dealer did not have the newer coolant formulation and could not recommend where to get it. Little's had it on hand and it turned out that the leak was in the radiator - they got a new radiator installed with new coolant in the same day! No delay for parts as is typical for dealer repairs. I left my car there for 10 hours for them to tell me well we don't know the issue but you need spark plugs 166$ for spark plugs and it didn't help even a single bit with the issues on my car after a 10 hour day they found something quick and easy to charge me for and in the end did nothing so I'm still stuck with the same problem! We were referred to Little's by a family member who raved about them. We contacted them because my car was in need of new brakes, rotors, and pads. I dropped my car off the night before and was contacted by 3pm the next day of the estimate to fix. I gave permission for them to fix the car and it was done the same day. They even popped out my fender from a hit and run. They went the extra mile to make me feel like they cared about my business. When I picked up my car, they even put my wife's car up on the lift to check the levels and added oil on the spot - no charge. My wife and I have told many people about Littles. I've been going to Little's Garage for Auto Repair for the past 16 years. Every time I have had exceptional service, good turn around, and honesty. The owner is one of the nicest and most caring auto mechanics I've ever come across, which is why he gets my business time after time again. Getting a price quote from a mechanic is always hard, because so many factors play into it. First off as a customer we assume the mechanic knows exactly what the problem is just from listening to us describe the problem. There's always surprises and the unexpected. Even with this, James, from Littles Garage, can almost always give me a price quote that is spot on. He may be off by 50-100 bucks, but when you're talking a couple thousand that's not bad. As for "Terry", I have to put the record straight. Please don't lie and try to hurt Little's Garage's reputation. You visited them once, and didn't even have service done by them. How can you comment on this? I actually talked to the owner about your review, and he, James Knies Jr, specifically remembers. How you described the situation is one way of putting it. Another way would be you and your "friend" wife tried to scam the shop by playing the double-agent scheme - husband calls in and get's a quote, then sends his wife to try and get another, unbeknownst to the shop. If anything, it was going to hurt yourself, not them, but going so far as to say they try and scam you? Go up the street to another autoshop and get their quote. James from Littles Garage I bet you can beat it, and at the very least match it. Please actually use their services before trying to leave a bad review, let alone accuse them of scamming a scammer. I recommend Littles Garage to my friends, my family, my girlfriend's family, her friends and their family. I've talked to the mechanics, they're nice and knowledgeable... but good god James is an idiot. First of all I've gotten my oil changed there before and afterwards would drive around and the meter would fluctuate oil level readings until the car really got hot and always show lower oil levels for my car. It was very strange to me, but when I got my oil changed at another place this never happened. (Oh and they charged 35 for this lower level oil change, but you can usually go to Firestone or Sears and get it done for less than 25) James also tried to tell me I had an oil leak (maybe if you put adequate oil in my car the levels would not have been low?) and after consulting two other places, I found out that it was just the A/C dripping condensation. It's been a year and a half and my oil levels have not been decreasing at all. Again. Idiot. Now if this is not enough for you let's go back to my car accident when I needed a lot of front end stuff done. They replaced the bumper, sway links, other little things, and James insisted that I needed two new tires because my front ones were balding. I told him I wanted to wait until fall so I would have them for winter. James said no, I'll give you a deal. I said alright, change the tires. So I get the car back and I see these shitty little Kumho tires. The first thing I noticed about them was that their tread at brand new (unless they're lightly used and littles just flip flops all of our tires and takes tires off your car and sells them to someone else-which is likely, when you know James) was less than that of my the old tires I used to have. Not kidding. But littles had already had my car a week and a half now so I paid my bill and left. 2 weeks later is the first rain since I've had my new tires and I fishtailed coming around a corner by delcastle park. I've never fishtailed anywhere before, until these tires. Same thing happened again the next time it rained. I would slip and slide and lose control of my car an hour after it stopped raining. These tires could not handle any water on the ground at all. I thought about calling Littles but I remembered how long they took with my car the first time so I just stuck it out and avoided taking any back roads. Time passed and eventually the new company I go to for my oil change offered me a free tire rotation so I get the new tires moved to the rear and the rear tires moved to the front. After a week of driving my car started making this awful sound. I had no idea what was going on. I took it back to my normal oil change company and they said the sounds is coming from the transmission and that I need to take it to a transmission shop. Went there and the transmission shop tells me that my car is making these noises because my car is an all wheel drive car all the time and when it tried to go into all wheel drive, it couldn't. HE POINTS OUT THAT THE KUMHO TIRES THAT LITTLES GARAGE PUT ON MY CAR ARE NOT THE SAME SIZE AS THE FACTORY TIRES AND THAT IF YOU LOOK IN THE DOOR PANEL, THE CAR DOES NOT SPECIFY THE KUMHO TIRE SPECS AS COMPATIBLE WITH THE CAR. Now I knew I had to talk to littles shitty garage. I go back and James admits he fucked up. He offers to "fix it" and give me two new tires. I said no, because at this point I don't trust him with my car at all, and I said I wanted money instead, to take the car to literally anywhere else and pick out good tires. he said he can't let me leave with the shitty Kumho tires and money together. I guess he wanted the tires to sell to someone that doesn't know much about cars like me, right? Don't let that be you. Don't let any of this be you. For now we are at a stalemate. James made his buck off me, but he will never again. read more
