My daughter went to Happy Days Summer Camp 2 years ago when we were in Queens visiting family for…read morethe summer. She went for 4 weeks and absolutely loved it! We headed to Massachusetts and she sulked the whole way. She wanted to go the camp for the rest of the summer. I thought the price was reasonable. I don't know if the prices went up but if they went up a little still well worth it. They took them to a nice pool club every day and then a different activity. I liked that they went to the park but my daughter loved going to the movies and bowling. One day it rained and they did an ice cream party (her favorite of course)at their headquartered locations which from the pictures I saw in the brochure looked good. Most important thing though was that it was organized and safe. They had a nurse and EMT on duty and the counselor to camper was like 3 to 1. The bus showed up on time every day and their was at least one counselor on the bus both ways. We are headed back to Queens this summer for at least 3 weeks and plan on enrolling my daughter if they do 3 weeks. Hell if it's reasonable enough I would pay for the 4 weeks. All in all a great experience.

He went to the camp the whole summer and made a lot of friends. The cool thing was that even though he wasn't really into sports he loved going to the movies and some of the other non-sports related activities. Their counselors were really very sweet and the senior staff keeps a good eye out. One of the things that impressed me was the food. I had heard they served school lunch food at some of the camps. But at this one the food was catered from a Kosher deli. I really liked that. I'm not Jewish but I Like the idea that the food was good quality. We are not sure what we are doing this summer but even if we go on vacation for a couple of weeks during the summer I was told we could go the first few weeks, reserve the last 3 weeks and not lose our spot. I highly recommend Happy Days Summer Camp

NOTHING was done to solve the problem throughout the summer. Lunch or snacks are NOT included. Weekly trips are $80 EXTRA for every trip. So if you don't pay the extra $$$ weekly, your child does not got on ANY trips and is just stuck at the camp site. They ask for "tips to give to the counselors." They are a cheap camp (price wise) so you get what you pay for!!!!

Our "bonus" at the end was from singles to $20 ANDDDD it was technically the tips from the parents. The favoritism is ridiculous, My fellow counselor was suspended twice. Once because he wasnt fully responsible for a special mediation for a camper but it was misplaced and he got a day suspension. The second time he was telling a story to a camper ,very miscellaneous, and mentioned a female counselor's name. Now the camper assumes they are dating and tella their parents and the parents told the boss. The last day is the worst part , we still have camp running and we get back to pack a 26foot penske to a storage unit . Most of us woke up at 4am to get to camp at 7am to leave at 12am. The counselors were underage with furious parents. We basically worked for 18 hours and got paid half or a third.

I genuinely would not recommend Magic Day Camp. For how much families pay, the camp is extremely…read moredisappointing and poorly managed. One of the biggest problems is the lack of attention given to the younger kids. You would think the smallest children would be the group receiving the MOST attention and supervision but it's the complete opposite. There seems to be very little awareness from Jerry and Phil about what is actually happening within those groups day to day. Phil at least comes across as nicer, but Jerry has a serious attitude problem. He expects the absolute best from everyone else while his own behavior does not reflect those same expectations. There also seems to be clear favoritism among certain workers. Some of the group counselors, especially in Abra Cadabra, come across like they genuinely do not care enough. Kids constantly lose their belongings, and instead of counselors actually going back to look around and try to find the missing items themselves, it can feel like they simply do not care enough to try. When you are responsible for younger children, you should be paying MORE attention to things like this, not less. The activities are another disappointment. They advertise this camp like the kids are going to have this amazing summer experience but a lot of the smaller activities are extremely limited and honestly pretty lame for what families are paying. Even the "big trips" they advertise and hype up are underwhelming. The overall experience simply does not match the price or the way the camp presents itself. The transportation is also unacceptable. They claim the school buses have AC, yet kids are still left sitting in extremely hot buses without proper air conditioning during the summer. Children should not be suffering in the heat while their parents believe they are being transported on air-conditioned buses. Overall, there needs to be MUCH more attention, accountability, organization and genuine care for the kids especially the younger ones. Between the limited activities, disappointing trips, transportation issues, things constantly getting lost, rude attitudes, favoritism and lack of awareness about what is actually happening within certain groups, I genuinely do not think the experience is worth what families are paying.
