I have been an advocate of the Montessori pedagogy since the beginning of my parenting journey and…read morehave done my best to apply its fundamentals at home. But, nothing compares to seeing your children flourish in a rich, Montessori school setting! I love the excellence put forth in this school from the administration to the teachers to the facilities. Everything is very intentional. My 2yo daughter (almost 3) is thriving and being exposed to so much more than what an average daycare would provide. She is learning about the solar system, the seasons, life cycles of bugs, how to write and trace, letters, math, matching and logic. Because Montessori fosters independence, confidence and asks the kids to take an active role in their own education, I believe this type of system sets them up for future success and fuels their own internal drive towards reaching their personal best. Like many parents, we are highly invested in our daughters education and care. In the past, we ran into a bad daycare environment that gave us serious trust issues. But thankfully, and after much vetting, we feel at home with Melville Montessori. My daughter loves her teachers, her school, her classmates and all of the new information she absorbs them shares at home. That's all we asked for! We are so thankful for Melville and proud of her progress. We plan to stick with Montessori for the long haul!

To start I would like to say that the teachers and staff are lovely, but the administrator named…read moreEric should not be in a business for families. Our toddler was enrolled for 3 weeks and without warning we were told that his last day was the same day that I was dropping him off. No notice was given, no reason as to why he could no longer attend, or why we couldn't have more time to find an alternative. We agree that he is a very active young boy, and we fully understand that he can be difficult. We even understand if a school cannot handle him then it's not the right fit. But it was cruel and unprofessional to kick a child out without notice, and now we find ourselves losing work looking for an alternative for childcare. To add insult to injury, when we asked for a refund we were told by Eric that any further conversation would be with his lawyer! Please be warned, they are expecting house plants for children here, who will require no effort. If your child is not perfectly docile you can expect to be shown the door without warning. Absolutely shameful behavior and an incredible lack of professionalism.

I 10/10 do not recommend them if you are looking to enroll your infant into their brand new infant…read morefacility. We paid the registration fee months ago because their facility was slated to be open SPRING 2022 and because the infant program was brand new and not yet open, there was no waitlist for our then 4mo baby. Now let's get into all the bad and deception - We were told by so many people before paying the fee that they were due to open "soon" aka in early spring. Fine with us so we paid. We were then told they're missing paperwork from the city for their opening but we can still expect a later spring opening date. Ok, fine again. We are now a few days shy of July and they have NO updates as to when they're going to open. They also never once updated us on the delay on their own. I always had to reach out myself. The good thing is we got our money back after months of lies. But what is money when compared to the urgency of enrolling one's child into a care center? There waitlists everywhere and I trusted them to enroll my daughter by spring. After months of endless waiting, we are back to square 1 with NO daycare option for our baby because now the waitlists are even longer for other places. If we would've known better, we would've just signed our daughter up for another daycare center months ago and join their actual waitlists with the expectation that yes, were on a waitlist and we now need to find our baby temporary care before enrollment. Another issue - SAFETY. Now, I can't guarantee this is going to be the case once they actually open, but I saw RECALLED FISHERPRICE ROCKERS that were the products of infant deaths in their center and recorded them too when I did my tour. I told their staff but not sure if they did anything with it. That should've honestly been my first red flag, but I was trusting them to listen to my concern and rid the facility of the rockers and I was suckered in by their no waitlist BS. Let's hope those rockers were actually thrown out.

Julia has always been attentive and is quick to respond. Communication through text and email has been excellent. All his teachers are wonderful to him and my son has made many friends which has helped with his social skills as well. Overall this center is wonderful and more importantly, it has been a great and positive experience for my son. We thank you for taking good care of our son. In regards to the application process, spots are not guaranteed since Baby Steps offer the courtesy to wait for the attending students to confirm when they are officially leaving. I have at some point told baby steps about leaving (moved to LI) and then changed my mind which Julia was nice to let me stay though she had applicants patiently waiting. Please be understanding of the process because keep in mind the same courtesy will be extended to you and when it does, you will be appreciative. I was fortunate enough to have my son attend as soon as he was two because the business just had opened not too long before but I can now imagine it would be more difficult since baby steps has built up a strong reputation. I wish the future parents luck and if lucky enough to get your child in the school, I guarantee, you and your child will be very happy.

As a mother and parent, I advise you to please not send your children here. They play the part of concerned and caring very well but it's just an act and if this is their MO, I imagine they'll be out of business very soon.

Wonderland Jewish day care…read more I was waiting for my kid to be out to write an elaborate review and to find time. We had a good experience with the day care. It was OK but a few issues. I have friends and family members attending currently in 2018 so the same issues remain. The management and staff take care of the kids and do a good job in caring for them and teaching them.. The food is kosher, a must for us, and descent, although breakfast was.a bit weak, better and healthier menus would be welcome. Major issues: the school has been short staffed, people kept moving around and teachers often managed.the place without any experience. I hear it is still happening, worst, the small class has a new teacher every other month, and my friend has her kid in the preschool class currently and she is not so pleased!

We are so pleased with Wonderland Jewish Daycare! We had moved within the neighborhood but our old…read moreday care/school for our first child was then just slightly too far away to walk everyday. Our 2nd child needed a day care/school and that's when we found Wonderland. It was right at the end of our street, and from day one, we have been thrilled. Not just because of proximity and convenience, but because the experience for both our son and us (as parents) has been tremendous. There's great security, with a door buzzer in the front and no other way in. You see the headmaster Nelly every day when you walk in. She greets you warmly, and she is always ready to answer any questions (not to mention greet your child with such warmth!). When there's a problem (sick, bathroom accident, etc), Nelly or Ella or her staff call home for a heads up. And the teachers are super engaging! Just good people, with kids of their own, and great experience and training! My son knows all of them now, which makes it feel more like a family because he's comfortable with all the staff. He loves the other kids, he eats (most of) the food, his language and fine motor skills get sharper by the day, he's stimulated with tons of crafts, music, play, and letters/numbers, and he naps! Halleluyah! They're working on potty training him and just all in all, he's having FUN! He's safe, happy and learning and that's all we want. Only negative is the outside area is small, BUT its the perfect size for this age group (2-pre-K). And the price is quite affordable, especially compared to the other competitors. We're just all really very happy. Thanks Wonderland!!!

I have to say that my son loves the school, teachers, and his classmates so far which is saying a lot because hated his previous daycare (I'll do a review on it in the near future). It's clean, not too many students, diverse, and well structured as far as I can tell. It's also pretty hand to find, you won't be able to see it from the street, which I like for safety reasons. The director is helpful and reasonable. She also does after school care for the pre-k to 8th grade students from the neighboring catholic school and will even pick them up personally and walk them back to her facility which is pretty cool. Students from her school gets a spot for that pre-k program offered at the catholic school. As far as education, I'll have to see. My kid is already pretty far ahead but when I talked to him after picking him up Monday, he told me all the things that he did so, so far so good. Will give another update in the future.

Isabel and her team really care about every kid - they came to feel like an extension of our family. As parents we never worried about issues in attention, safety, hygiene, etc. And our daughter loved getting to see them, giving them big hugs every morning and often asking to see her teachers on the weekend. Isabel will spoil you with the meals she provides the kids. She is truly the only daycare that gives kids all their meals and snacks and they're actually REALLY healthy - probably healthier than how I fed my own child. I know Isabel is a big reason my daughter loves veggies, beans and lentils as much as she loves cookies.
