I paid in cash and left without an actual evaluation in hand (was told they would call me with the results) - I received a call from the therapist who told me she had no idea how my son had made it to the 1st grade, and she would advise me pulling him out of public school and putting him a special school - that he could not read or write and that they could do nothing for him. I was left hopeless and devastated. I followed up with a developmental pediatrician at All Childrens that diagnosed him with an auditory processing delay. By third grade (with a proper IEP in place) he blossomed and has since (now in 4th grade) made honor roll every grading period. When I think of one of the darkest part of my journey to help my son - I think of this place, awful!

My baby was eight days old when we visited Dr. Beckman. He did not have a consistent latch and was…read morestarting to lose weight. Thus, we started to bottle feed with donor milk. I was very concerned that he would not Want me after receiving a bottle. Dr. Beckman was cheerful, humble, knowledgeable and very positive that 1) baby was born knowing how to latch on to me...we just needed to remind him. And 2) baby should have no problem switching back-and-forth between nipple and bottle it was just a matter of strengthening the muscles that were weak. That was such a relief for a first time mommy. She went though a series of simple tests and gave us exercises to practice. Three days later he had his first decent latch. And ever since then it's been getting better and more consistent with longer stretches of time. We are not even two weeks since our visit with Dr. Beckman and today we've done more breast-feeding than pumping! Dr. Beckman and associates are professional, friendly, and prompt. Her process is backed by science and research, and carried out with kindness and compassion. I would highly recommend this office. Baby and I are forever grateful.
