The floors are wood laminate which I appreciated because many times carpet has stains. I dropped a little water on the floor so I wiped it up and sadly, the tissue was black (see photo). The Sturgis motorcycle rally was coming to an end so there were some bikers next-door. They thought it was a good idea to sit outside our door and talk very loudly about their experience at the rally. That's not the motel's fault of course. I do feel like it's a little pricey for what you get but I would not recommend anyone avoid this place because overall, it was fine.

I guess right outside our room was the gathering/smoking/spit out your gum/talk loudly on the phone spot. I went out by myself to get something out of my car, not expecting three dudes to be right outside my door who watched me the entire time. Super uncomfortable. I also think the price was a bit high for what you get.

We booked directly, at the last minute, over the phone, and couldn't yet specify the number of nights we would need our two-bed room. The owners were completely flexible about that and we kept them apprised of our plans as soon as we knew them. This is a "self-serve" motel in that no one is on-site. You are given instructions on how to access your room, including the door code, before your arrival, via email. The same door code gives you access to an "amenities room" where you may pick up extras such as blankets, toilet paper, etc. The building is one-story, cute and a little dated. The room was furnished with two queen sized beds, a glider rocker, 2 nightstands, a microwave, a small coffee maker, and a large flatscreen tv with Dish satellite. There is an easily adjustable wall heater that makes it nice and warm quickly. Our bathroom had a tub-shower. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. Across the street is a cafe that serves lunch and dinner, and currently serves breakfast just 1-2 mornings a week. They give a discount to motel customers. About 3 blocks away is an espresso drive-through. So the location is convenient to important morning needs! :-) Whenever we had a need, we could text or call the owners and always got an immediate response no matter the hour. After four nights, we planned to leave but there was a winter storm warning so we weren't sure if we would be able to make it out. They were willing to hold our room for us until we knew we could make it out and just let them know by texting. We really appreciated their willingness to be so accommodating and flexible. Would definitely stay here again.

We were staying at Alameda's Hot Springs nearby and decided to give wild horse Hot Springs a try…read more We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon around 1 o'clock, and most of the tubs were full. They have six tubs that are somewhat communal. If it's not crowded you can get them by yourself, but if there's other folks around, you will need to share. The water is delightful, but very warm. You can turn off the flow if it's just too hot for you. It's $18 for two hours soak you can stay longer if they're not crowded but honestly two hours is plenty here. Nice place with friendly folks cute cats running around the property. Looks like they're building some additional tubs. Also looks like they're pretty liberal with their beverage policy so bring your cooler with some beers and other libations. Overall a super chill place love it.

I travel to Montana a few times a year and this was the first time I have stayed the night in the Hotel. Traveling with a puppy it was nice to have a place so welcoming with our pet. The rooms are dated but it has a nice Montana west feel. I enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfy. I will stay here again for sure. They could spruce it up a bit but the price is right for a quick stop for some rest.

The forties farm house decor with all the kitch and the ancient plumbing and fixtures do not lend themselves to the sparkling clean most people expect of motels these days. On the other hand, if you're looking for a retreat from telephones and media and the kind of deep, healing relaxation you can only get from steaming, mineral rich waters, this place is definitely worth the trip. Quaint and nostalgic, the rooms have no televisions or phones and, in many cases, no sink or water closet. But, there are enough rooms with plumbing that you should be able to have a toilet and a sink, if you prefer. The furnishings are old and dated (really both). But, after a good soak in the springs, sleep came instantly both times I stayed there. The restaurant is homey, the service is homestyle and the food is reliably good. They also have an espresso bar in the lobby along with a gift shop/museum. The surrounding town is no bigger than a postage stamp. There are a few shops and dining choices. But, I've never tried any of them. To really appreciate this off beat resort you need to tune in to the other guests. Russian and Japanese speaking travelers, bikers, artisans and the eclectic breed of mineral springs cognizenti rich with stories of their favorite hot-springs and the details of their waters' mineral content and restorative powers. You can't leave this place with out good suggestions for future trips or the premise of a novel or movie script. Think Cohen brothers.

Rolled into town (literally- on our bikes) on a weekday around noon during a horrible fire season…read more The town was so smoky that it burned your eyes and throat if you were out too long in it. We arrived a few hours before check-in, but decided to give it a try. We were greeted at the front door with a big smile by Donna, who I believe owns the place. We apologized for being so early, but she said no problem and invited us in out of the smoke. Mind you- we were in our cycling gear and I was towing a Bob trailer. She said it was fine to bring our gear in and store it in the basement. She had two rooms ready for us and we could choose one to our liking. It was fantastic to come in early and get cleaned up after roughly 35 miles on the bike! The bed was just fine, and the room was very quaint. She made us feel at home the whole time and we had a fabulous time in Wallace despite the crappy air quality. We would be more than happy to stay again the next time we visit Wallace!

No A/C in our unit~not ideal but cooled down at night with windows open (street noise came late as pubs closed but was short lived). Downside: Cigarette odor hit us as soon as we stepped into the main stairway from outdoors. Smell lingered our whole stay as we think possibly it used to be a smoking establishment and that odor is hard to remedy with old carpet in common areas. Room was clean, not as bad as smelling as out of the room. Shower had a cigarette burn on the shower lip (see photo). Texted the mgr but she was apparently not feeling well. No reply was ever rec'd so hoping she is ok now. 3.5 stars
