So cute! Go Little Rice, go!
Gina K.

Our second visit, very good. We went on a Thursday evening after 8pm. Our server was polite and friendly, and our food was fresh and delicious. I had the Chicken Lover's poke bowl (sauce was a bit too sweet for me but a delicious menu item nonetheless), and my husband had General Tao's Chicken. Great "sticky rice", too! Recommend.

Sh*t food they won't refund me for,

I'm so disappointed, they will not give me a refund for a sushi deluxe That was bad! It had a terrible fishy flavor it was not fresh, and the tuna tasted like metal! Breaks my heart to write this because I order from little rice all the time. This is The first time since they opened that there has been a problem with quality, ‍ but I'm annoyed I wasted money it's in my garbage can and because it's sushi I may also be sick later. Sooo yeah, if they treated me like someone who orders the same thing all the time and never asks for a refund. I would not be writing this. Oh and adding f**king picture of it in my Garbage!!

Delicious and fresh sushi roll! Really good food, tea and a yummy mango smoothie after.

We are always looking to try Ramen noodle soups and different locations around the Chicagoland area. Today we were in the area and Little Rice looked like the place to try. The atmosphere is very clean, fresh, and modern. Nice wood tables and floors and a beautiful sushi bar area. I ordered hot tea and it came to the table in a beautiful teapot with a matching tea cup. Very impressive. My husband ordered a Diet Pepsi. He was happy they have fountain drinks here (not canned drinks) and even though he prefers Diet Coke, he said it was not horrible drinking Diet Pepsi. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll as our appetizer and we asked for a side of spicy mayo. It was absolutely amazing! Very beautiful presentation and the perfect temperature and texture. For our main entree we ordered the Miso Ramen. The flavor of the broth and the taste and texture of the noodles were delicious. I was happy that the soup was hot but not scalding hot as you often receive it at other restaurants. The egg was warm and hard boiled and normally eggs are cold and more of a soft boiled texture so it was different but still very delicious. The only thing we did not care for was the meat. It was a little too firm for our liking and had a distinctive honey ham like aftertaste (we are used to meat that melts in your mouth and has a non sweet taste)! It was not something that we were used too but that is the reason we try out different restaurants. This is definitely a great restaurant and I highly recommend it. Next time we are going to try something different from the menu as the Ramen was not our favorite.

I am all about supporting new local restaurants. We wanted try little rice out and unfortunately had a poor experience. I also want to preface that I'm a patient person. It was warm Inside and more of like a cafe style. Service was a bit slow from the start but we ordered drinks and our selections for dinner. The issue came about at first when my iced tea was warm... and the diet pop was flat. They couldn't fix that issue and only could offer regular Pepsi. The next issue was when the wait staff came out to let us know their tofu was bad and could only offer vegetarian rolls. We are all vegetarian and that was the finally straw. We bowed out and left. I have only done this twice and feel terrible but this was not going well and about to go worse. They seemed very unprepared and can not recommend trying this restaurant. Hope they can dial it in.

The food is ALWAYS hot and delicious. We keep coming back because it is the freshest ingredients and large portions!

Recently got take out from this restaurant, glad we finally got to try it! I drive by this place often on my way to work. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food, although a few dishes were quite salty. The portions were good sized and we had enough left over for a few more meals (for two people). My personal favorite was the Eel roll, which had a good amount of eel for a competitive price.

Ramen
Jill J.

Tempura and egg rolls were good. Ramen was disappointing, seemed like spaghetti noodles with bland beoth and egg was cooked well but bland, not miso soaked or anything. The pork was good though. Added some miso I had to make it better. Plain white rice was overcooked and sticky /mushy. I didn't try sushi but hesitant to order from here again. LOVED the disposable Asian spoon!

Rangoons are terrible. Grainy and overly sweet. Not returning. Tried something new because Chens is closed on Mondays. I'll wait next time.

Major bonuses: vegan…read moreoptions are present, and the waitstaff are helpful in generally checking on what is and is not vegan. You know, the kind of thing that might be important to people who want to eat a sushi restaurant when you don't really want to be eating fish or milk. It helps that it's just south of the Crystal Lake downtown, in an area where many restaurants and businesses are. There were a few things (Fried onion dip) where it looked questionably non-vegan and the waitstaff were helpful in pointing out that the onions were fine, but the dip wasn't. Which is fine with me! Really, you don't have to veganize everything. I don't expect magic accommodations. Just don't snow me with claiming things aren't vegan, or at least be able to tell me if things are. I have reasonably low expectations. I want to eat, I want to not get sick from it, and preferably I'd like to enjoy it. I am easy to please. Sushi was reasonably well prepared, and also came out quickly. It was nice to be able to order a roll or two at a time and then have them come to you! However, was the AYCE worth the cost? The jews worth the susheeze (I don't know where I'm going with this made up phrase)? I gotta say no, dawg. I'm pretty sure that as a vegetarian the cost of everything I got was actually way more expensive than the amount I ate. I guess I'm not the volume eater anymore. C'est la vie. I'd still come back, just with their AYCE price so high maybe just getting rolls is the way to go - and I don't see anything wrong with that.

During our visit, we tried several sushi rolls, pork ramen, takoyaki, fried scallops, edamame, and miso soup. Everything was delicious, and the sushi was especially fresh. Be sure to save room for dessert--the ice cream bar is the perfect way to end the meal! The restaurant itself has beautiful decor and a welcoming atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. If you're looking for quality sushi and a fun dining experience in the area, Sushi U is definitely worth a visit.

The drinks ive gotten there have been phenomenal so far, and the mocktails dont make you feel like youre missing out on any fun. In addition to the Food, the service is positively delightful. Our server last time i went was also the bartender, and the other staff were kind enough to step in and help him with our orders, and he himself was more than helpful enough. The interior of the resturaunt was beautiful with wonderful lighting and a very cohesive layout, but i do have two complaints: the tables are very small and the booths are very low. When you order at a tapas resturaunt, you dont really get just one or two plates at a time, and when a solid quarter of the table is being occupied by the standup menus, the water glass, and the decorative flowers, it gets crowded very quickly. Overall a 9/10. Definitely a wonderful place to go with friends, family, or even on your own!

The green beans I believe came from next-door in fact, and there is a picture of it. As soon as you walk in, it's really cute and cozy and people are immediately greeting you and are quick to also sit you down, which is great. There are quite a few people already eating dinner as well as sitting at the bar area too. There were also lots of pick up takeout orders. This restaurant located in a strip mall, so there was lots of shared parking. Great to see a lot of of the Japanese chefs behind the sushi counter. We did not get dessert here as the portions were very fair and quite filling. A few of the main entrées come with vegetables, and one of our friends was very familiar that you could substitute the vegetables with some type of tempura vegetables, and I think this was a great decision because what ended up coming to the table was a mishmash of vegetable tempura, which was delicious. My friends also rave about the cocktails here. So some of us had cocktails and some of us had tea. The green tea here is a little light, but it's still very hot and tasty. We did not have any desserts. But would definitely come back here again.

I have also bought things from the bakery that have been marked down and they have been very stale even though the sell by date was one to two days into the future. So a couple days ago I buy this pork prepackaged and not entirely inexpensive and I go to cook it today. It's been in the refrigerator and the sale by date is tomorrow, but it looks so discolored and old. I'm not even going to try to open it and smell it. I'm taking it back tomorrow and I'm really sick and tired of taking things back to the grocery stores that are rotten. It is a drive to any of them and i may or may not have enough time to drive back, find a place to park, and go in and take care of business. I have ended up just throwing things out like little bakery items that were a couple bucks or a sandwich that was three or four instead of eight or six dollars. I think my days of shopping at Mariano's are over. Definitely stay away from markdowns, Also Their prices on most things are not cheap but I will say usually their full price fresh veggies and fruit are good and fresh. Hard to go from place to place for this and that though.
