The "closed" designation is wrong, the place is still open, was just there yesterday. It is a cute little place with tons of delicious looking dishes. I came after lunch, so didn't have room to try the savory dishes, opted for the Mangonada special. It was absolutely delicious. I've tried a number of Mangonadas in San Antonio, and this was hand's down the best!! Highly recommend!!

Blurry pic, but so happy to have found this snack shop in S.A. ! It's just like the ones I would visit in Laredo (I believe it's the same owners) and I could never find the right strawberry raspa when I moved here. This is simply the best one! Don't have to miss home so much now :) 10/10 perfect

    Their menu is extensive.

The only way this place could be any better is if it were in my backyard. I don't consider myself a foodie, and this review is solid proof of why. I found myself at Los Pinguinos ordering a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos drenched, no... DROWNING, in nacho cheese. I know what you're thinking. You're right. It was amazing. I shared that treat so that I could try something else from Los Pinguinos. See, ever since my fiancee and her family moved to San Antonio from Laredo the hunt for a corn cup that meets their expectations has been going full force. The opening of a Los Pinguinos in San Antonio brought the decade-long-hunt to an end. Folks, it's here! Los Pinguinos #5 is basically the salvation you've all been praying for... as long as salvation comes in the form of corn kernels smothered in cheeses, chile, lime, and butter. If that's not your idea of heaven, then your search continues. For the rest of us, well, you can find us on the other side of the tracks at Los Pinguinos. Provecho!

Great snacks. I've visited the locations in Laredo quite a bit. The prices are very affordable! They have elote blanco or elote amarillo I like both, the elote blanco reminds me of the elote in the valley and the elote amarillo reminds me of the Laredo locations elote amarillo is also common in Houston. All in all this is the best place in San Antonio to get a corn in a cup which corn you prefer. I got tostadas Siberia and an agua de sandia this time but everything is good at this place.

My favorite snack place. Very authentic Mexican corn on the Cobb. Lime shaved ice is delicious. Very friendly employees and clean tables and chairs to enjoy a snack. Parking is a headache and super limited. A little far away from my home but so worth the drive.

A snack bar where you can find everything! They have the best elote mexicano (for real) served with a side of their house chili sauce that's excellente! They also have real fruit chunks in their raspas, mango, pina, strawberry, tamarindo, pina colada, mangonadas ( the mangonada especial is the bomb!) Banana, coconut, nuez con cajeta, and melon. Dillys and the pinito which is like the nostalgic astro bomb! Clamato preparado, aqua mineral preparado, tostada Siberia, chicharron prep, their nachos and cheetos with cheese are drenched with cheese! and so much more.

Pickle lovers rejoice! Only in San Antonio can you find a frozen treat called "The Dilly", and Los Pinguinos #5 makes the absolute best! Two scoops of frozen shaved ice (in the flavor of your choice), chopped dill pickles, chamoy drizzle, gummy bears, chewy chili candy, all served in a cup with a chili powdered tamarind stick ... its my addiction!

    Nacho pie is so good!

I LOVE the Mexican corn from here it's delicious! Mixed with the liquid chile they give you it's even better. Their nacho pie is really good I highly recommend it. I don't know what chilli they use but its really good and its a big serving of nachos. Also cant go wrong with their aguas frescas, my favorite is Piña. The cups are pretty big and the aguas are always nice and cold. The most important thing is the customer service, these ladies are so polite and so fast at getting your order ready. Definitely recommend paying a visit here you won't be disappointed.

They have a very nice banner that displays a few of their most popular snack selections.

I have been to the Los Pinguinos in Laredo, TX and the snacks have always been amazing. I'm so glad they finally opened Los Pinguinos # 5 in San Antonio so I don't have to drive so far to satisfy my cravings! My favorite snack is their Elote Desgranado which is a cup of white or yellow sweet corn, mixed with mayo, a white cheese and chile. My husband always has a Frito Pie and says they are the delicious. The service is friendly and prices are fair. This is a must try if you're seeking a simple, yummy snack!

This place is the bomb! I come here for there white corn all the time it's the best. If you like your corn really spicy ask for there other chile they have that's more spicy then the one they give you. Service is awesome and fast.

I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more!

I'm vegetarian and pregnant so my menu had to be modified but I was so blown away by the fact that they were able to accommodate for me and took such care in making sure my plates met the caliber and intended feeling/taste of the non vegetarian dishes. Same with the drink pairings, although mine were non alcoholic, it wasn't just a blah substitution, they really put a lot of care into making sure the drink matched the energy and vibe of the alcoholic version. My husband and I loved the story telling that went with each dish that described the chef's intentions and the products used for each bite. This was our first fine dining experience and we couldn't have been more satisfied. We were celebrating my husband's graduation and they even had a little card for him signed by the chefs! So cute! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out for a special occasion, or if you're just curious about what a Michelin Star dessert restaurant is all about.
