My 16 month old has been going there since he was 9 months and the minute we took the tour all of our anxieties about leaving our little heart melted away. The curriculum is great, the families are friendly and involved, the staff is wonderful. Our son doesn't have any problems with drop off in the morning since he loves it so much! Caitlin, the director is a bundle of joy and energy and always makes me feel happy and comfortable to bring up any concerns or questions. The teachers are so attentive, kind and professional. And the facility is so nice! There is a huge outdoor play area that they utilize daily (weather permitting). I wouldn't want my son anywhere else.

It's also worth noting that Caitlin, the administrator, and the rest of the staff are extremely communicative and have been very easy to work with. Miss Maria in the infant room is a wonderful caregiver, as are all the other teachers who take care of our son! Since transitioning into the toddler classroom, my son's vocabulary and attention span have improved dramatically. He learns new words every day and is excited to go to school! There is a misconception that this daycare center is for Henry Ford hospital staff only, but I can confirm it is open to the general public. I highly recommend for anyone in the midtown and downtown Detroit areas. It's also a great option for anyone who commutes downtown for work - the center is just off the Lodge which makes for easy drop off and pick up for anyone commuting from Oakland county!

A couple of years later we moved to Rochester and STILL took our girls there because we couldn't bear to leave. When our oldest daughter entered kindergarten we decided it would be more conducive to find a center closest to home for our youngest daughter. To say goodbye was heart wrenching. Tears and all. We are now in a large center and we are considering going back to TLC. You can trust them with your babies like they are family. Because they are.

The staff was professional ,welcoming and very personable with my children . My children were more than ready for kindergarten when they graduated, from Steppin Out On Faith!! At first my son was excited to be in school and so I saw that he was making friends and thought "ok…read morelet's try this place out" well 6 months in I noticed that every other day we would pick him up and would ask how was his day, the response would be "it wasn't a good day for him, he was fighting and very whiny" I would ask my son how his day went and his response would be "mommy I was a good boy today, I didn't get in trouble". That's not the response you should be getting from your child, 6 months in and my sons self esteem had dropped and he started to tell me that Mrs. so and so said I was a bad boy, or that I was getting on her nerves, or that I was being a baby, or aggravating! Whenever I would ask what happened and why was his day not good? The teachers would just say "I don't know he's just not the same as he was when he first got here". Which lets me know that he's picked up some bad habits from other children which is normal but calling my child whiny, aggravating, and saying things like "your working my nerves" is completely unacceptable! The teachers are nothing more that glorified baby-sitters and I'm pretty sure that none of them aside from the director holds any kind of degree or certification. No child is perfect and my baby is not a saint however I sat in that school for 3 hours just to witness my child's behavior because the teachers had me believing that my kid had a split personality simply because the child they described and the child that's at home with me and other baby-sitters, was not the same child. So after sitting there for 3/4 hours I witnessed 3 other little boys scratch my child, during recess one boy drug my son out of the toy car, and another ran over my son and two other kids with his bike. Every time my child had to defend himself the teachers never saw the first kid do anything, they only say my child retaliate and had I not been there to witness all of this then of course when I went to pick him up that day then I would've been told "oh he was just fighting and crying and he had a bad day"!!! That day I decided to remove my son and put him in Franklin Academy where he is thriving and he's less anxious, peaceful and all around happy! I told the director that we've decided discontinue my our sons education here and she tried to defend the teachers and basically blame my child by saying "well kids tend to act out when they have a sibling on the way and children act different in front of their parents, I know that I have more patience then the other ladies that work here so they yell a lot but I'm focused on my class and can't possibly know everything that happens in other classes"!.... yea ok so as the director you're basically saying that you don't know what's going on in your school?! Cool GOT IT! There's no confidentiality in that school because there's no reason that I know which kids are on medication, and I bet if their parents knew then they'd be upset as well. I gave them my sons 2 weeks and on his last day my mother picked my son up and they handed her all of his stuff and that was it. Not even the director gave him a hug, not his teacher, no one. Like as an adult you should not take your anger with the parent out on the child. My son is very loving and affectionate so a small hug and kind words like "it was nice having you here Darryl" would've been nice. It's fine, this school says it's been on business for over 10 years and haven't had any reviews... G I wonder why not??? My advice to all parents, pop in from time to time, sit for a couple of hours and listen to how these women yell at these babies. It's sad! I'm glad I found out when I did. Some of the teachers are nice but they lack patience and that's a problem when working with children on a regular basis. You call kids whiny, crybabies, aggravating but they're 2,3,4,5 years old.. what exactly are you expecting? I know adults that can't clearly explain or express themselves but you're upset with children for being.... CHILDREN??? Naw, to other parents good luck.

I love that they take any ideas we have and run with them. They work with us in all aspects and are always willing to help (potty training, educational aspects, etc)
