On our way from St. Louis to Columbia, we stopped at Little General for a quick pit stop, and I'm so glad we did! This place is off by itself, but it's HUGE. There's tons of parking, and the building itself is massive. Honestly, it reminded me of a Wally's or Buc-ee's!
Its location just outside Columbia makes it a perfect place to stop before heading into town, whether you need a good drink, a snack, or just a chance to stretch your legs. It would also be a great stop when leaving Columbia and heading back toward St. Louis to fill up on gas and grab some road-trip essentials.
As soon as I walked in, I noticed how immaculately clean everything was. They had a giant walk-in beer cooler, a variety of specialty drinks we love, and so many things to explore. I was especially interested in checking out all the different cookie dough options they had in the refrigerated section. Unfortunately, we were just making a quick stop, so I didn't have time to investigate everything!
They also had a pizza place and an ice cream bar, making this a true one-stop shop. Considering it's situated out in the middle of nowhere, having so many options all in one place is pretty convenient.
I really wish we'd had more time to look around because there was so much more to see. But even with our quick visit, I could tell this was somewhere worth remembering.
Little General is officially going on our list of places to stop when traveling across the state, and definitely when visiting Columbia in the future. Whether you need gas, snacks, drinks, or just a fun place to explore for a few minutes, this place seems to have you covered.
Next time, I'm giving myself more time to browse those cookie dough options! read more
