I'm never quite sure if it's the look they're going for or if it's just a old book box and they don't have the time or resources to replace it. The books seemed fine with no weather damager and beyond the edges the LFL looked well taken care of, but it always worries me when I see the boxes that look a bit un-loved. But ah, well Yay Little Free Library!

There are a few drawbacks to this location. Because of the hill the home sits on, there isn't really a good place to park, it's also inconvenient in that it's pretty far onto this home's property and looks very similar to a mailbox. The box also has a few spider issues - so those who are a bit afraid be warned. This locale had almost entirely children's books, Boxcar Children, Pony Pals, etc and had some math flash cards in the back. It was a super cute design, but I'm just not sure how often people with kids would be driving up this road or how good at weathering the outdoors this box will be. All in all the lil'ist Little Free Library I've come across, but probably one that needed a bit more thought put into it.

The second time the childrens box had lost its front but I still loved the fact that it was child height and thus accessible to the small ones. I also just adore this general area because this Little Free Library is right near some wonderful honeysuckle that is breathtaking to smell when its blooming! Even though this particular locale of Little Free Library doesnt tend to have much sci-fi or fantasy, it's still a fun one to drop by when you're in the Burlingame area! Yay Little Free Library!

Unfortunately it held mostly children's books, which for a non-school/daycare Little Free Library is a bit strange. I also was surprised it wasn't in perfect shape as it is so close to the business it's next to. But my guess is that it's a quick stop on the way in for families to grab while they're waiting for a table or eating dinner and that most of the books are returned shortly after they leave. All in all a very cute locate, especially since it matches the restaurant. Yay Little Free Library!

It is really bright and well made, and stocked with plenty of books. There were even overflow books in a cardboard box below. Plus, they offer free hand sanitizer. Physical Location: 3203 Curtiss St…read moreSan Mateo, CA 94403 This was the second on our jaunt and was a bit hard to find (at the end of Curtiss street, around the corner from the home that's listed) but had enough Sci Fi books that the honey wanted to leave one of his for solidarity sake. This Little Free Library was on the larger side, usually the size I see at when the LFL is at a school or daycare, but because it looked to be at the beginning of a trail it might be a popular locale for the locals! Especially since it looked a little sparse. All in all a nice little area, and wish we could have gone for a walk!

Driving up the honey was like, doesn't look too hale 'n hearty does it? It was literally held together with duct tape. That being said, this location was amazing. Every book inside it was high quality and new (most likely an effect of the winter rain we've been having) and even though the door barely fit, there was something enchanting and well taken care of about it. Like that shack you played in as a child. Or the neighborhood clubhouse. What sent it from four into five range was that it housed a geocache, which means it was probably kept with a rather bad rap on purpose because that's how geocaches tend to roll. Either way don't let the 'cover' fool you, this is one awesome location of books!

I was concerned about the box toppling over as it didn't seem like it was anchored down too sturdily. Pretty full with adult books on the top and children books below. quite a few hardcover boxes on top making it very top heavy. I was going to fix it by putting some hard cover books at the bottom to evenly distribute the weight but there was no room. A decent selection of books. Donated 3 and grabbed 3.

With the sweetest little knob and a cute little Welcome flagstone we dropped by to check out their selection. They had a nice mix of children, tweens, and thoughtful adult fiction and memoir. The cute little guestbook and darling little free bookmarks were just the icing on top! All in all a wonderful location! We dropped off a couple books and went on our way :D
