With the sweetest little knob and a cute little Welcome flagstone we dropped by to check out their selection. They had a nice mix of children, tweens, and thoughtful adult fiction and memoir. The cute little guestbook and darling little free bookmarks were just the icing on top! All in all a wonderful location! We dropped off a couple books and went on our way :D

There are a few drawbacks to this location. Because of the hill the home sits on, there isn't really a good place to park, it's also inconvenient in that it's pretty far onto this home's property and looks very similar to a mailbox. The box also has a few spider issues - so those who are a bit afraid be warned. This locale had almost entirely children's books, Boxcar Children, Pony Pals, etc and had some math flash cards in the back. It was a super cute design, but I'm just not sure how often people with kids would be driving up this road or how good at weathering the outdoors this box will be. All in all the lil'ist Little Free Library I've come across, but probably one that needed a bit more thought put into it.

"Beautiful, multicolored."…read more I happened to be biking by, and spotted this beautiful little box. The first thing you notice is how colourful it is, with that bright purple front. It's multicolored, and very attractive. Everything about this box is well done. It was stocked plentifully with all kinds of interesting books. Thank you for creating such a beautiful box. It is a real asset to your community.

I'm never quite sure if it's the look they're going for or if it's just a old book box and they don't have the time or resources to replace it. The books seemed fine with no weather damager and beyond the edges the LFL looked well taken care of, but it always worries me when I see the boxes that look a bit un-loved. But ah, well Yay Little Free Library!

Physical Location: 3203 Curtiss St…read moreSan Mateo, CA 94403 This was the second on our jaunt and was a bit hard to find (at the end of Curtiss street, around the corner from the home that's listed) but had enough Sci Fi books that the honey wanted to leave one of his for solidarity sake. This Little Free Library was on the larger side, usually the size I see at when the LFL is at a school or daycare, but because it looked to be at the beginning of a trail it might be a popular locale for the locals! Especially since it looked a little sparse. All in all a nice little area, and wish we could have gone for a walk!

It was up in the twisty hills of Belmont and he adored seeing the fancy mailboxes dotting the houses in this area! This Little Free Library had perhaps the best quality and quantity of books for the day. There were a ton of advanced reader copies, mostly adult fiction novels. The variety of the genre's was really quite surprising and this may be a regular for us to stop by! I would have liked to have seen a bit more decoration on this one, but definitely super cute nonetheless! Yay Little Free Library!

"Surprising find in Redwood City"…read more I was on my way to a beer brewery, and happened to see this beautiful little box on a pleasant street corner. It is colorfully painted, and in excellent shape. Notice the big sign, "Free books for kids!" As you can see from the photos, it is really a treasure! Jam-packed with books as well. This little library is definitely one of the more attractive, creatively designed boxes I have seen. Check out those photos! Also notice the cute stump at the base of fhe library post, as well as the custom designed brick structure foundation. Someone obviously went to a lot of trouble to create this wonderful treasure. Thank you for taking the trouble to provide this community resource.

Physical Location: 1190 California Dr…read moreBurlingame, CA 94010 This is the super cute Little Free Library next to Maverick Jack's near the Burlingame Caltrain. Unfortunately it held mostly children's books, which for a non-school/daycare Little Free Library is a bit strange. I also was surprised it wasn't in perfect shape as it is so close to the business it's next to. But my guess is that it's a quick stop on the way in for families to grab while they're waiting for a table or eating dinner and that most of the books are returned shortly after they leave. All in all a very cute locate, especially since it matches the restaurant. Yay Little Free Library!
