There is a lot in front of the building but we didn't want to pay to park. Had we read the entire sign, we would have noticed that parking for the center during the day was free. See my pic. Our event was in the downstairs space. There were tables set up and it was a good space for the event. Restrooms were close by. The ladies room had a terrible smell. I went in quickly to wash my hands only. The space in general looked nice. But I can't comment on anything they have to offer for Durham seniors.

They are organized by type and color but not by size, so come prepared to look through a long rack of women's denim if you're in the market for a pair of jeans. Prices are a flat rate that is posted on the wall, which means you could get lucky and find a name brand item for a very low price. There are few housewares available and not much furniture. I wish there were a more robust kids' section for sure. Employees were nice. It was a very quiet location located in a strip mall with a grocery store, some restaurants, a dollar store, a gym, and others in a quiet part of Durham.

But this place is quite expansive with several areas including wildlife, butterfly and insect garden, a train tour that takes 2 laps around (might as well get it for the $6 a ticket), and several outdoor play areas including a tree house and mist/water areas. Place was crowded, but there were still plenty of spaces available at 10:30 in the garage. If I lived closer, I might consider a membership to save costs, but I live too far currently to justify that. The cafe food was mid, and again too expensive. The pricing for me knocks a star off, but if you've never been and are prepared to spend a couple hundred bucks for the day on a family of 4, you'll probably enjoy!

There seems to art galleries and spaces popping up everywhere in Durham these days - Supergraphic…read moreis one of them. This place is an art gallery and workshop all in one located in the downtown area that provides work space and equipment for artists in the back as well as a mini gallery space in the front for print related art. I had the pleasure of attending a showing of an artist here last weekend. It was a small, low key affair, but the owner (former Duke grad and current UNC art professor) as well as the artist and several people who worked at Supergraphic were here. I got a neat little tour of the place and saw some works in progress as well as completed works in the back room where the work space is. The rental rates to use the space seemed very reasonable: $10/hour for the space and $10/session for screen rental. They also offer print making classes.
