I constantly shop at the store on hwy 55 and the following staff members have all helped me at one time or another. Justina the manager, Ms. McNeil, Ms. Angela and Franz to name a few have given my family excellent help and always with kind words. On Tuesdays they give a discount to seniors. The gentlemen staff always strives to help and anticipate what you may have questions about. The staff are nicely dressed, well versed in giving great customer service and hard working. They have a drive through drop off area behind the store to make donating so easy! Love all the stores but hwy 55 is my favorite.

These people wakes you up at 6 am wants you out the building at 7 am and give s out a bottle of…read morewater and 1 protein bar for each person and then when you come back in to check in they have 15 fans to give out and they usually have a certain time that they give the fans out but all of a sudden the time changes so people who don't know about the time changing doesn't receive 1 and the rooms are hot after you have been in the heat for several hours already they don't do background checks don't know who your laying beside or who's around your children and majority of the people here is high off of some kind of drugs and intoxicated on alcohol. They do not have anyone at the shelter checking for weapons or drugs this place is not healthy or safe for the kids or yourself to be in the little kids running around hollering and cussing it just a demonic place to be so I suggest no one to come and stay because they have their picks when it comes to funding and helping people.

I went to the homeless shelter to eat lunch urban ministries of Durham…read more I get to the front of the line and I seen what they were serving black beans with rice two very small pieces of sausage and about a 2 inch piece bread. so I look at the people serving and they had on shirts that said Duke that's when I knew why the food was so crappy cause I've been there before and they had volunteers that were Carolina shirts and Carolina hats. They were serving chicken salad, cookies, lemonade, milk, all kinds of things. Food that homeless person needs to get through the day people wearing them Duke hats and shirts very disappointing. I've seen better meals in county jail.. but also want to bring something else to attention. The food has been really downgrading. I think that the urban ministries of Durham is embezzling the money that is towards the food for us should be looked into.
