The only thing is, there is so much greenery and places for mosquitoes to breed - it is ridiculous to go there without skin repellent. Just don't do it. We buy ours from the Grant Park Farmer's market - and have to spray ourselves every couple of hours to make sure we don't get bitten. But other than that, my kids and I bring food for a picnic and can stay there for HOURS (and they are 2 and 4 - so there are very few places I can say that about!).

We often will stop here while walking through Oakhurst as it is such a peaceful environment. My kids have been attending Frog Hollow as campers and junior counselors for the past 9 summers and…read moreI can't say enough good things about the camp. My kids usually go for multiple sessions over the summer along with other camps and this is always their favorite. At the end of the day, you can count on them getting into the car happy, filthy and exhausted. It's not fancy, and it's not overly structured, and it doesn't focus on a specific topic or type of activity. They get to pick their activities each day, so no two days are ever alike. Activities range from archery to playing in the woods to crafts to making cool snacks. It reminds me of what summer camps were like when I was a kid. And in my opinion it's exactly the kind of things kids should be doing in the summer. After nine months of school, they need to have some relaxing, outdoor-focused fun. It's no accident that the majority of the counselors, junior counselors and helpers at Frog Hollow were campers when they were young. Once they've experienced it, they never want to leave!

I had no idea this was an annual thing and am happy that the city of Dunwoody does this and am definitely looking forward to next year's lights. While there were a ton of people, there was plenty of parking and I appreciated that there was an officer there to keep the flow of cars moving along. The park itself had several playgrounds and I loved they were padded. The kids had a blast on slides, swings and running around in the wide open space. The bathrooms were clean which always makes things even better. The kids had a blast playing with all the other kids and this is definitely a playground I'd come back to visit.

We played the disc golf course at Brook Run Park while our daughter was in a nearby class, and…read moreoverall we had a good time. The layout is fun and the park itself is beautiful, especially in the winter when the leaves are thin and you can actually see the baskets through the trees. That said, the course could really benefit from clearer signage. Several pads weren't well marked, and we even had to skip a hole because we couldn't figure out where it started or ended. Since we only had time to play about half the course, we found ourselves spending more minutes navigating than throwing. I can't imagine how tough it must be in the summer when everything is fully leafed out -- it's probably like searching for a needle in a haystack. Still, it's a solid course in a great park, and with better markings it could easily be a five‑star experience.

Instead of looking elsewhere, I decided to stick with Benjamin Prep, and I'm honestly glad I did. My oldest is now blossoming as he moves through the classes. I've seen so much growth in his speech, knowledge, and communication skills over time. My youngest actually started before him, and the entire school treats both of my boys like family. The staff listens, cares, and works with you. Like any new school experience, it takes time to build trust and develop a relationship with your new village--but we have found that village at Benjamin Prep.

I love the cameras so that I can peek in on my child if and when desired. We also have access to the live school app which gives a detailed report about your child's activities throughout the day as well as their behavior. They are also performing arts based so the productions are something to look forward to as well. So far I've enjoyed my child's experience here. My oldest has been there since he was a Butterfly (their youngest toddler class) and is currently enrolled in their Transitional Kindergarten class (one of only a few offered in the city) and we couldn't be happier! As a parent, especially of little ones, one of my main concerns is that they are cared for and protected as though they were in my care whenever I'm not present and that's exactly what they do- if not more! Every single educator or staff member that my children have come in contact with shows them love and genuine interest in each of them. It truly is a wonderful community to be a part of. The parents are engaged and a huge part of the community making this school extra special! From assisting in the classrooms for parties and class projects to forming committees for their larger events and fundraisers. Their administrative staff is such a great group of women. They truly take the time to know the families and their children. Rhonda, the director, is such a special person who somehow always has time for everyone! She has a way of making you always feel at ease with whatever concerns you might have. As for the actual school itself- it truly is magical. I remember when we toured the school the feeling of ease and peace that we felt while walking through the lamp lit rooms with their esthetically pleasing wooden blocks and art filled walls and hallways. Hearing about their Reggio program (children should have some control over their learning) and how it really encompassed what we wanted in a curriculum for our children and sealed the deal for us. This sweet preschool holds such a special place in our hearts and we can't recommend it enough to anyone and everyone who is looking for a school for their little!
