Mrs. Monique presented at my property community meeting, specifically engaging with the children about " Social Media Etiquette" The kids (elementary, middle, and high school) all kids and parents physically participated in the project; writing on board, using improv, also using imagination with real life scenarios. We are super excited that we are collaborating with Family Purpose in the near future. My agency has plans to invite her and her team to train at an upcoming agency staff meeting on "Levels of frustration". Awesome program. FP really need more recognition and a bigger platform to reach our future leaders.

My kids love her along with the other teachers. They pick my daughter up from Elementary and make sure she safely gets to the daycare. They prepare meals, help with homework, and it's been a relief having them to count on. Miss Zohra and Ms Jaylen have been with us from the very beginning and they're of course our favorites. Both of my children attended this school, and I can honestly say that I have watched them grow--not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and as little human beings. The foundation they received here has meant so much to our family. There are things being said about this facility that I simply cannot agree with based on my own experience as a parent. I can only speak from what I have personally seen, and what I have seen is dedicated teachers who care about children, work hard, and give so much of themselves every day. My little one struggled when he first started. Adjusting was not easy for him, but the teachers never gave up on him. They were patient, loving, and understanding. They helped him feel safe, helped him settle in, and helped him learn. That kind of impact goes far beyond a classroom. Those are memories and skills that stay with a child. By the time children move on to TK, they are prepared in so many ways. They know their letters and numbers, but more importantly, they have learned how to communicate, socialize, follow routines, show manners, and become more independent. Even simple things made a huge difference in our home. My children used to want to eat only in their high chairs or while I followed them around the house. This school taught them how to sit at the table, eat properly, follow routines, and be part of a group. Those may seem like small things to some people, but as a parent, I know how meaningful they are. I want to give a special thank you to Ms. Deb and every teacher who has poured their time, patience, energy, and heart into these children. You may not always realize how much parents notice, but we do. We see the long days. We see the patience. We see the effort. And we see the difference you make. People can write whatever they want, but my children's growth is something I have witnessed with my own eyes. That is my experience, and that is what I choose to speak about. I am truly sad to see wonderful teachers move on, even though I know they deserve every opportunity that comes their way. You have made a difference in my children's lives, and for that, I will always be grateful. To all the teachers and staff: Thank you. Especially Ms.Deb Your work matters. Your patience matters. My kids are part time, but they learn so much in the few days they are there. My kids usually come home talking about what they did that day, and always with a smile. We also love that Sunshine House follows the BUSD schedule, it makes life so much easier, since my oldest is in school as well. My oldest was this shy little guy and now is very confident in himself. They always showed absolute love for both of them and my children always thought of them as their home away from home. The…read moredirector called me this morning, and told me that it was an "honest mistake" by the teacher, because she didn't know about our "situation". The reason she didn't know? The director hadn't told her, because it's a "private matter" and "not her business". Our family is not a secret. * came home today with two Father's Day crafts. This is very disappointing, as I thought we made it clear that she does not have a father, and instead has two moms.  It seems like it would have been a simple change to write/print Mama instead of dad on the inside/outside of the card, and at the bottom of the tool chest, and the graphic could have been left off.  If no one knew what name to use, Mom would have worked, or you could have asked us.  This especially bothers me because when our older child went to a religious preschool, they still ensured that they used the correct name on these types of items.  This is not only an issue because she has two moms. What would be done if the child had a single mother by choice, or if their father had passed away?
