All of the Tutu schools are decorated whimsically, with a chandelier and ballet dresses on the wall, to give your little ones that wonderful princess feel. Also, there are 2 recitals on stage per year. They are fun events, nothing too stressful for our little ones. Yes, they teach the ballet moves (pique, rond de jambe, etc) and the older kids use the barre. However, one of things I like the most is that Tutu also emphasizes fun. The music is recognizable instrumental versions of Disney songs. They read stories. Some lessons are like games. They don't turn off little ones to ballet by being those stereotypical strict ballet teachers. Also, the Brentwood Tutu hold free fun events throughout the year, like short ballet performances from the local ballet companies or arts and crafts events for the holidays. My daughter's teacher right now is Miss Kennedy and she's wonderful! She's strict enough to enable the girls listen to her, but she's mostly fun and cheerful. Definitely recommend this dance school!

What initially drew us to this preschool over others in the area is that they have a Spanish program, but when I met the Director, Ms. Lisandra, I knew it was the program for us. She is kind, loving, real and very knowledgeable in childhood development. She treats the children like her own grandbabies and I never once had to worry if our daughter was sad or having a hard day, knowing that she would tend to her like her own. Actually, the same can be said about all of the teachers at the school, which is an extreme rarity. Our daughter is definitely not for the faint of heart - she can be quite "spicy" and most certainly can hold her own so it takes a skilled and patient teacher to be able to deal with her strong personality and Ms. Laura did just that. She kept our daughter in check and the two of them developed such a strong bond because of it. We can't say enough good things about this preschool.

The…read moredirector called me this morning, and told me that it was an "honest mistake" by the teacher, because she didn't know about our "situation". The reason she didn't know? The director hadn't told her, because it's a "private matter" and "not her business". Our family is not a secret. * came home today with two Father's Day crafts. This is very disappointing, as I thought we made it clear that she does not have a father, and instead has two moms.  It seems like it would have been a simple change to write/print Mama instead of dad on the inside/outside of the card, and at the bottom of the tool chest, and the graphic could have been left off.  If no one knew what name to use, Mom would have worked, or you could have asked us.  This especially bothers me because when our older child went to a religious preschool, they still ensured that they used the correct name on these types of items.  This is not only an issue because she has two moms. What would be done if the child had a single mother by choice, or if their father had passed away?
